"Thank you," nodded Ola, "That was helpful. Just one more thing before we go - there are all kind of rumours about the place on the mainland. Was there any attack on the island when beacon died? Or did the light just disappeared two days ago?"
OOC: Ola's question is good (and I want to hear the answer), but I'm going to go ahead and post what I do next.
As Arnold is searching for traps, Sylyra begins the ritual of detect poison and disease, saying, "Let me help. It will only take 10 minutes or so."
Once inside the room, Sylyra looks for information concerning Grim and the supposed hidden treasure more than information on the beacon itself. If his spell pings any poison or disease, he'll investigate that first.
Before pointing you to Igan's room, Shandra answers Ola with a look of shock. "An attack? My goodness, no. Should we be worried about one?" Darvag places a hand on her shoulder and says, "I'm sure it's alright, my dear. Let us let these folk do what they came here to do."
Igan's quarters are on the second floor, past a banister and into a grand area that overlooks the empty courtyard. Arnald does not hear anything through the door, and after a quick examination he finds nothing out of the ordinary. The door is currently locked.
Ola entered the room and added Divine Sense to the pool of tests - servants could be blind and deaf but people are talking about attacks on the villages around.
As everyone one else is doing their magic stuff, Zelra starts looking for things the old fashion way. She beelines to his desk (if there is one) and rummages around for any documents, notes or books with information relating to the Keep, buried treasure or even the spirit ship. She'll also keep an eye out for any signs of hidden compartments or doors.
Investigation: 5
(Can we get a general description of what kind of furniture and stuff is in the room?)
As long as it doesn't take us to more than 10 minutes to get into the room, the spell will continue while he's in the room looking for information about Grim and the treasure.
OOC: the dice roller here is very democratic and hates everyone equally. Here, I'll prove it to you:
Investigation:2 general mood of the room - owner's affection and character, and anything about the beacon.
"Zelra, Igan Sokol is still alive, for all we know. He might not appreciate rummaging of his room. I am sure we can find our clues without destroying someones property."
OOC: Yep, of course. Wanted to give Sylyra and Uragum a chance to respond to the result of their spells before the door was opened.
Also Blue, you're a wizard, calling your nat 1 like that. Luckily, no rolls are needed yet. Most of the time, just describing what you are doing is enough, and I can make any rolls that become necessary. In this situation, you're able to see the room with your passive perception and investigation.
Arnald opens the door to Igan's quarters.
A quick glance shows that the three room suite--comprised of a bedroom, a sitting area, and a small office--is in good repair and look to have been cleaned recently. The wall and floors are richly decorated with carpets, paintings, and tapestries that depict various heroic scenes.
The room is untidy, but otherwise appears well-tended to; the bed is freshly made and a few piles of laundered clothes lay on the bench at its foot.
Each room has a window that overlooks the courtyard below. It has definitely recently been lived in, as everything has been dusted within the last couple days. In addition to the desk in the office, a bookcase full of books and scrolls stands beside a large, comfortable sofa with two large books laying on it; both are open.
Zelra leafs through the desk, rummaging through papers that have sketches, random musings and observations, and rather shoddy attempts at poetry. The sketches depict the keep and most of its people, including Darvag, Shandra, Rorin, and a couple of men and women in Black Fist uniforms. The desk also has three drawers that are locked and secured.
For Ola:
Your divine senses do not register anything within 60 feet of you.
Arnald steps to the side and lets everyone else go in before he enters the room. As everyone is looking around he stands there for a moment and thinks and then asks, "So why would the servants want us to come in here? Is there something they want us to find without telling us, or are they setting us up? Anyone have any ideas?"
OOC: I just know too well my chances for a good Perception or Investigation roll here :)
"They look very sincere," Ola did not overestimate her perceptiveness but genuinely thought servants were honest and forthcoming, "still, it's a good point - and another reason to leave everything the way we found it". With that she looked at Zelra apologetically: "I am sorry for snapping like that. I only meant to remind that these are the living quarters of a noble, not a dungeon in the wilderness, and we are guests here, not some official investigators of a crime."
"I am not sure what are we looking for here - the treasure, even if dangerous, did no harm anyone as of yet, but unlit beacon is a real threat to safety of the town. And the main reason we came here. Should not we hurry to the lighthouse first?"
"I have a feeling the beacon being unlit and treasure have something to do with each other or at least the treasure is the reason why the beacon has been left alone despite being off. I'd bet a gold piece Igan doesn't want outside investigators about the beacon because they might want the treasure for themselves and honestly? He right. Also, if we can find out about the treasure, we might get more insight on the whole situation. Also, also! Igan might have some info about the Keep's history hidden around here somewhere. Give me a few more minutes."
Zelra goes to try and open the drawers when she notices the two open books on the sofa. "Hey, can someone check those out? Also, if you find any keys, give them to me. Got a couple of locked drawers here." She attempts to open them one by one with her Thieves' Tools.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Opening his eyes after the ritual he says, "There is no magic immediately around us. I'll hold the spell as long as I can though as we move." He then will follow the others into Igan's room.
He casts his enhanced gaze out again looking for magic. After which he will aid the others in searching for any clues.

Zelra looks slightly surprised that they gave the group the key to Igan's room so easily but shrugs and happily follows Arnald's lead.

Casting detect magic as a ritual.
"I've no rituals to help in this situation Uragum so I'm just looking for traps before opening this here door." Arnald replies.
"One of these days you and Sylyra should teach me some new rituals", he adds with a wink.

As ten minutes pass, the rituals complete. Arnald uses the key given to him by Shandra, unlocking the door.

Your spell does not detect anything within 30 feet of the door to Igan's quarters.
