Giovanni meditates on the top deck facing the front of the boat. The cold ocean spray splashes against his shell but he doesn't flinch. For a quick moment he reaches into his travel pack and pulls out a cube of cheese and munches on it happily.
Hordak turns toward the Githyanki. "Don't worry outsider, your spoils will come AFTER the Fallen have claimed their victory." He seems perturbed that this otherworldly being is on a mission of such importance.
"Name's Leon." Leon says with a shrug at the other's clear dislike. "You saying they didn't offer you a reward for doing this?" He asks with a raised eyebrow.
Carthage stands near the prow of the ship..scanning the Horizon and sticking his head forward into the wind, almost as if he is sniffing the air. He appears human...but upon close look one will notice a golden color to his eyes..and perhaps canines that are slightly longer than normal. Blonde hair with a beard that frames his face, and a haunted look. He wears scale mail and strapped to his back is a large greataxe.

EMPIRE - Aboard the Storm Rider
Nymia has been below deck for the last hour or so, presumably studying her spellbook. The sound of footfalls creaking against the ship's ladder sound her stepping up to the main deck. Nymia has been - quiet, much of this voyage. Something seems to be weighing on her heavily, but now, as the crew approach the island, Nymia seems much more willing to talk.
(( Rolling my portents for later - Nymia's lucky numbers today are 20 and 20 ))
"I grow concerned as we get closer to the island. My view of other timelines has not been favorable as of late, and I feel no better today. Perhaps we should spend today more focused on gathering intel than jumping into the fray. We were told the Fallen were attempting to claim this island - if we let them find the source of the rare metals we're supposedly after first, we can surprise attack them later."
Giovanni humbly disagrees with Nymia. "I agree with letting violence be our last resort but I also feel we must seize any opportunity that presents itself. Time is of the essence."
(GM, is the empire boat visible from the fallen boat?)
(No, you guys are coming up on the island from opposite sides actually. Instead of making multiple threads I figured we would just keep it all on this one. That said, please no meta gaming when we come to the PvP portion of the story.

Of course, that's why I asked. I am trying to fully ignore the empire team's posts until we get into combat at some point.
As you all get antiquated with each other, you see emerging from the captains quarters a drow female, dressed in fine silks and armor, she approachs you three on the deck. Yes, destroying those Imperial fools is all that matters in the long run. For now, however, attaining these rare metals might prove to be our saving grace in the fight against them. The lookout has informed me that land has finally been sighted. You three know your mission. Find any pieces you can of this metal and bring evidence of it back to us. Should you encounter any aforementioned imperial dogs, do not hesitate to destroy them. The crew is preparing the lifeboat for you to go ashore in,if you have any questions now is the time.
Empire:
A shout from the crows nest interrupts your conversation as you three stand on deck. Land ho! As several of the other crewman look over the railing to see the faint shape of a island sitting peacefully in the middle of the raging sea. The creaking of wood alerts you to the captain walking up behind you. A halfling male with a small scar under his rigjt eye, wearing a heavy red vest and a rapier hooked on his leather belt. Right then! Good to see you all getting aquainted with one another, but alas the time for serious buisness is upon us. That there be the island weve been told of, and you all have your orders. If you find anything out of the ordinary, be sure to report it upon your return, if you cant up and carry it that is. I'm sure you all know what to do if any of those yellow livered Fallen show up! Now I'll have my men get your boat ready to go ashore, any questions, comments, concerns, before we get you underway?

"Let us be off." Leon says with a nod. He pauses and summons forth is familiar, having it fly ahead of them to scout as they head towards land. "Striker will help scout." He explains.
Nymia nods, glancing onto her shoulder at her familiar. An owl you've come to know as Lisen."I'll have Lisen fly up and take as close a look as he can at the geography before we get to the island proper. Through his eyes, I should be able to notice any points of interest from this distance and we'll have a solid idea of where to go first."Nymia quietly mutters, "Per oculos tuos, et vide omnes." She makes a brief circular motion with both arms and her eyes glaze over, becoming pure whites for a moment as she looks through Lisen's eyes at the island.
(( Perception for Lisen / Nymia. Since the Find Familiar spell is unclear about who's bonus to use, Nymia's Perception bonus is +5 and Lisen's is +3, so whichever the DM finds appropriate. Lisen's Keen Hearing and Sight trait grants advantage on the check. Attack: 18 Damage: 0 ))
(( I like how it rolled that as attack and damage. Sorry, I'm new to PbP. Regardless, nat 18, so either 21 or 23 depending on who's Perception bonus is being used. ))

(Both your familiars see about equal amount of detail. White sandy beach's, followed by a extremely dense tropical jungle thats almost impossible to see into due to the dense foliage. Beyond that there is a small clearing in the center, with several large, strange looking rocks shooting out of it, jagged and randomly placed, or so it appears. A small pool of water lies between the strange rocks jouting out of the ground, extremely clear and looks like a small spring rising out of the ground.)
Upon seeing the drow Hordak gives a curt nod. He turns his focus to the land and begins a short prayer.
"What perils await is a ahead?"
The drow priestess turns to look at you before replying Unclear, but there are rumors that the island is inhabited by primitive tribes, supposedly abandoned here centuries ago. If they stand in our way we shall crush them, but perhaps you may convince them to join us. Regardless, all I'm interested in is the new metals, that is your first priority!
Still looking through Lisen's eyes and unable to hear herself speak for the moment, she begins relaying the details to the other people aboard the Storm Rider."Apart from the beachehs, I don't shee a whole lot of mountainish or ruggud terrain. moshtly, it'sha jungul, but in the schenter is a short of... outcropping? Lotsha big pointy rocksh and a shpring near the very schenter."The details return to Nymia's eyes as she goes back to using her own senses. She gives her head a quick shake from the sensory whiplash of it all."The outcropping in the center is interesting. It doesn't look like a natural formation to me - it's hard to be certain. As for the rest of it, the jungle should provide adequate cover if we can make good use of it, so keeping an eye in the sky..."Nymia's arm outstretches as Lisen perches on her forearm, giving a satisfied hoot."...Should be a priority as we make our way through the thick. With any luck, we'll have arrived here well before any Fallen vessels make port, so we should be free to explore with impunity, at least for a little while."Satisfied with her familiar's work, Nymia drops the serious persona for a brief moment and gives a toothy grin toward Lisen, using her other arm to give him an affectionate scratch right under his beak.

"Victory against those imperial bastards is the only reward I seek." His hands clinch in rage.
"Oh, I can't agree with you more there." Leon says with a nod. "That will definitely be icing on the cake."

Yep, just ignoring any of the other player's posts who are not on the fallen ship.
ooc: I would suggest starting each post with which group you are in bold....

Fallen
Carthage will head to the front of the lifeboat....again smelling the air for any signs.
