Torke Aldrehas
Somewhat enamored by the ambience, only realizing the man now before them. Torke hangs at the back of the group now, perhaps seeing now that this man frowns on their group, he thinks that his required talents are not to be met. He glances to the rest while fixing a part of his glove caught on his left index finger's nail. Despite this, his sword hums to only Torke's ears, eventually leading him to resort to understanding if there are any items of magic that are apparent in the room other than his blade.
"There was a man that was with you in the city. Where is he?"
You hear his voice, but you don't manage to stop from looking at his eyes. There are several of you, but he maintains eye contact with you all at the same time like a artisan's painting.
Arophanis is certain that this is indeed Mr. Wilcox. His dress is a well fitted finery the likes of which even a king would be impressed with. Some exotic kind of leather vest, the finest silk stained canvas colored shirt, white gloves, the same exotic leather as the vest on his pants and a pair of shoes made from another rare animal as well.
His posture is that of royalty, and his features most well defined and set hard enough to weather a storm.
Torke's sword and sense of magic seem off. You see various telescopes and charts all around the room. You focus harder and you hear...laughter? Laughter again, a faint and most persistent cackle that is coming from all around.
As Torke hears this man's voice, he cuts himself off of the sound of laughter, choosing to instead reply to the man in his usual voice, "I heard of him that he was to go to the gatekeeper to check on a reason. Is this about masterpieces? I can be sure that they are fine if so." Torke is seemingly in a daze within his mind, trying hard to omit the laughter he now hears from moment to moment. Focusing for one moment, he stands at his height and continues."These charts and what seems to be a kind of tool with a lens, what are they used for?"
Mr. Wilcox looks down to the side, seemingly accepting the response. He opens his book again for a moment, before walking over to the telescope he was looking into.
He replies, "These are for looking a celestial bodies. This room is enchanted to look directly into the night sky from the highest point in nearly two thousand leagues."
He then places one finger on the note book and scrolls down. With a note of success, he pulls a large chart from a nearby desk and lays it out on the table next to the scope.
He makes a hand gesture suggesting one of you come look into it.
Frostbite and Prosinet move forward towards the telescope and star chart. Prosinet looks over the chart, and sees that it is marked for the Coldest part of the year, and a specific section of the gigantic ocean that blankets the world. With the right mind, these numbers could tell you more, but you'd need to focus.
Its charted a section of specifically marked stars that have aligned to make a pattern. It's unclear why these stars in specific are noted, but it is curious that they seem to be not only in a straight line, but in a pattern starting with the farthest star being on top, and the closest star being on the bottom.
While Prosinet looked closer, Frostbite saw a bit of the same, but was also able to look at the telescope. Its got strange arcane symbols marked all about it and its made of some kind of polished copper colored metal.
Mr. Wilcox leans in to the both of you, and calmly states, "I'll bet you all didn't know that your masterpieces were created on the week during this legendary event. Such a time is bound to have lasting effects on each of them, as well as yourselves, and I've curious questions for all of you in due time. For now, I'd like to welcome you to an ancient land were such connections will have wondrous effects..."
As Frostbite continues to look over the telescope, his eye briefly glosses over the lens, catching the faintest glimpse over an impossibly well defined cosmos.
In that instant, the speaker stops talking, spinning with a hand raised to the back of the room you are all now standing in. It expands into a vast open space, the edge of the very Earth you stand on appearing to stop mere steps in front of you. The cosmos within the telescope now displayed fully, so well defined that you can see faint dots behind the faintest dots in the night sky. Every celestial body, every large cloud of dust, and every perfectly aligned star set marked on the chart Prosinet was looking at.
Mr. Wilcox stands there, staring into the stars with a smile
Now as the room shifts, Torke is giving a sense of caution to everyone, before eventually being encapsulated by the wonders of the cosmos's far-stretched existence. Intrigued by all of this, it takes a few paces of looking around for him to reply to Mr. Wilcox while staring into the celestial bodies, "Is there some reason you watch these skies above?" Torke sweeps his silver-white hair that glistens faintly now in the colours that appear in this night sky.

Prosinet looks alarmed at the sight of the cosmos appearing in the room, gives out a small squeak and then goes back to the tangible charts in front him. And tried to make sense of the numbers.

Mr. Wilcox continues staring into space while addressing you. He tells you of a rush of artistic feeling, an apex of creativity and an unnatural amount of skill. Whether or not you knew it, you were all effected by this occurrence.
He discovered it in his youth while sailing. He was a ship's navigator, and spent the majority of his time going from island to island then back to the mainland. On one occasion, they managed to acquire a great deal of gold and silver for near nothing, and then the people who had done so disappeared.
These gold and silver objects were things of crazed beauty. A robe made of pure silver thread. A golden staff with a giant ball of glass and a glowing jewel inside. A necklace that looked as if silver and gold were liquids that could be mixed and stay separated.
His captain recorded the date and stars during the interactions, declaring the disappearances a bad omen and ordering them not to come back. As the ships navigator Mr. Wilcox had access to it and recorded it for his personal collection anyway.
“As you can probably tell...” he starts to calm down in his excitement, and turns back around, “...I'm not quiet as young as then, I went back there, and I've seen it happen quiet a few times since. Those stars have meaning, that place has meaning, and your masterpieces, have meaning.”
Arophanis-The stars aligning produces a week of intense creativity. He's got a lot of experience with it.
Torke-He watches it for this specific event. As to why specifically...(Roll Insight)
Prosinet-You recognize that the numbers on the chart as the coordinates of where the telescope was standing when the magic was cast...
(High Perception Roll, You Don't have to share this, but must if you want others to know)
....From where you remember the city being, and from the direction you were sailing, you can infer that you can't be far from the numbers on the chart.

Torke Aldrehas
Torke seems intrigued by Mr. Wilcox's encounter, but he searches for a deeper meaning he can find, trying to find a reasoning within Mr. Wilcox to pursue these stars rather than the unnatural phenomenon it provides.
Arophanis: The speaker address you directly, "You know, I would have expected a little more enterprise from someone like yourself."
Torke: You look into everything you know about Wilcox compared to what he's said, you conclude...
...The event, for Wilcox, granted him access to gold and silver objects. From what the Speaker has said, Wilcox has a background in ore refining. He would then possess the knowledge to melt down such objects, retrieve the precious stones, and pour them back into ingots. If the event has at least a semi-common frequency, given his age, he'd be able to repeat the process an unknown amount of times and that would explain his wealth. Perhaps that is reason enough.
Now gathering this information, Torke hangs-back from the group to continue listening, albeit in only slight acknowledgement while he begins shifting his view to these stars, uninterested to look at the sky beyond seeing the moon and sun as hunting guidance beforehand.
"Actually I'm glad you brought that up. Would you mind walking into my office and speaking with me? I have some questions about the boat ride over here. As for the rest of you, I welcome you to walk about my home. My assistant will tell you what's around, and where you are to sleep. Its quiet late so I'd understand if you all would like to rest first."
Mr. Wilcox directly addressed Sam. Then transitioned swiftly to addressing all of you at the same time. He finished talking, walks out of the door, and takes a left.
His assistant stands at the hallway, ready to take you anywhere you'd like to go. The stars and planets slowly fade, and the room becomes full of telescopes and charts again. You all have a moment or two to decide what you'd like to do. Its quiet a large house, and there's a lot Mr. Wilcox may have to offer.
Before any of you get to speak, the assistant blurts. "I should warn you that we don't light all the candles anymore. Mr. Wilcox spends large amounts of time on this floor, but there are four and a garden. I light the floor with the front door, because that is where the sleeping quarters are. The rest, given that its night, are most likely dark."

Mr Wilcox I presume? Nice place you have here.
Arophanis looks around carefully looking at everything in the room, and also looking for another way out. Not that he's paranoid, or anything.
