MistBusters - A Curse of Strahd PbP

(OOC - ah HA - I figured it out - on my PDF character sheet I have sharpshooter listed - but I actually took Close Quarter Combat as my fighting style for my fighter (same thing different way to do it) so no I haven't taken a feat yet - so if you're allowing feats - I'll stick with alert - which now gives me +8 initiative hehe - now to just work on the gulthias tree bow to see if it gives me any magical advantages hehe)

OOC: Yes, absolutely still allowing feats. Just wanted to make sure everything was clear! If you’d like to work on the bow, you may.  If you have an applicable skill or kit that you believe may help you fashion a bow, you may try to apply it. There will be three checks.

Bry, what about you? What’s your vote? You mentioned that you wanted to go to the mountain. 

 (OOC - hmm since the wood came from a magic tree, can I use arcana? Hehe - other than that, I don't have any kits that could help, unless I want to make a poison or disguise heh - unless someone else in the party might be of help)

First check barely passes. Elwarith thinks for a moment, recalling Grim’s strange staff. It is largely untouched from its base twig state. You elect against snapping any branches on the twig, but instead bind them close to the base so they do not get in your way. What will you do next?

Hmm let's see,  how about athletics for bending the wood for stringing it properly? (I'm grasping at straws I knows hehe)

The wood, despite being dead and horrid, is actually quite strong. It feels like fresh, powerful material and, while it takes a while, you get bend it into a proper bow shape and can string it properly. Last check, we’ll say this will be an intelligence check for quality control.

Yes, enjoy it. It probably won’t kill you in the end! Is there anything else anyone would like to do? Currently, we have 2 votes for finding Baba Lysaga (Elwarith and Adanmar) and 1 vote for Mount Ghakis (Bry). It is worth noting that Mount Ghakis is where you believe your “destined ally” may lie.

OOC: Yea Bry is all for checking out Mount Ghakis, if the party however feels like we need to hunt down Baba Lysaga, Bry will of course follow :)

And don’t forget, if you all wanted to ask the ravens for some information about either, you may. Their well-travelled.

Meanwhile, during a rest, the Mistbusters took at the Winery before step into their new destination...

The Revenant holds the hilt he found under the roots of the Gulthias Tree.

"The Sun Sword" he mutters, weighing the hilt in his hand. The Revenant grunts "Mh...the Old Man told me you are...or...you were...a Sword of power...you have to choose your wielder uh? Suppose to convince you I am worthy and you know what? Probably I am not...but that's what I can say...

"The Vampire Strahd killed all my family...he killed all my clan...his minions killed me once....and here I am...I can say that I will not rest beneath this very ground until he will be destroyed...once and for all....he if killed me ....I will come back...again...and again...and again...that is what I am, that is what I...became because of him....you could become for me that sunny Sword or lay like that...maybe I will use you as a knuckleduster to gouge all his ivory canines ahahah....it will be fun...up to you sunny Hilt"

A moment passes, two moments, three. You begin to wonder if you’ve been had. A sword that talks, how absurd, but then it hits you. A memory surfaces in you mind, but not your own. It is of a man, in gleaming white armor, holding a beautiful crystal blade aloft. He looks quite a bit like Strahd, yet only in resemblance. Perhaps family? Regardless, the blade shines with glory. The memory shifts, day becomes night. The sword now lies amidst the rain, it’s owner lies cold.  A familiar vampiric hand clutches its hilt. The memory shifts again, and you feel the memory of pain, excruciating pain.  The blade is ripped from the hilt and shattered. It almost makes you want to weep, for some reason.  However, the hilt is stolen away. The scene goes dark. You feel anger build for years, decades, maybe centuries, but then a glimpse of hope.  You see a hand claw away the darkness, your hand.  The sword feels your pain and your conviction, while you feel its own.  Power swells in the sword and light bursts forth.  It’s blinding at first. This is true sunlight that you have not seen in weeks. However, it focuses and condenses into a blade. A memory of that long lost blade. A saber of pure light. You know have, the awakened Sunsword.

((yeah the Ghostslayer Order plus the Sunsword boost the radiant damage till.....more, btw maybe I should consider Adanmar taking a shield somewhere and become more melee oriented :P))
