Davian and his daughter Stephania return a moment later with warm rolls, some cheeses, and glasses of wine. Davian sits down and Stephania places the snacks on the table before returning to her room with a quick greeting and farewell. Davian coughs, “So, dear friends, what brings you all to my home once more? I am thankful that it is on more pleasant terms this time and that I am able to show you proper hospitality.”

"Baba Lysaga...... what do you know about the witch?"

“What do I know? Pah! What do I not know of the woman! I wish I and my family were not so well aquanted with evil.“ Davian leans in close to you all and speaks in a hushed whisper, “The Mad Mother of Barovia, the Wicked Daughter of Mother Night, the Raven Eater, she goes by many names, but Baba Lysaga is her favorite. She hides in the Ruins of Berez like the cowardly witch that she is. Long ago, she stole one of our more powerful seeds, much like the one that you saved from the Gulthias Tree. She has used its power to amplify her own dark magics. Legions of scacrows, a skull that flies through the air, and a house that walks. These are but a few of the monstrosities that Lysaga claims under her power. She has been the bane of my family for centuries, and our sworn foe. Why do you seek to know of her?”

"We seek more than to know about her.... we seek to end her"

Davian chuckles to himself, “Were it anyone else, I would think you all were insane. Simple mad men seeking a gruesome and painful death. Yet, you all have proven yourselves more than capable. A word of warning. Lysaga is not one to be trifled with. While the Gulthias Tree was a powerful force, Lysaga is beyond most in this land. If you are set on fighting her... be at peace with the possibility of death. My family has been fighting a losing battle for centuries. She is without a doubt, the devil’s most powerful ally. I believe in you, but I urge you to not underestimate her.”

"If she is the devil's most powerful ally, then it would be best we end her before tackling the" Viorela scoffs as she says, "man himself. Where could we find these ruins? Do you know of any traps she may have set for... unwanted visitors?"

“Our spy has informed us of much.” Davian raises three fingers, closing one at each example, “Scarecrows, insects, and her own abhorrent hut that beats with the magic of the seed. As for the location of the ruins, I shall have some of our associates lead you to them.”

"We appreciate your assistance once again Davian, and apologize for calling upon you at this late of an hour."

“Think nothing of it. You are friends of the Martikovs, and our friends are our family. We take care of family. You are always welcome in our home. However, I fear that I must be getting some rest. Old age takes its toll on you eventually. Please, enjoy the food that my daughter has made. We would hate for it to go to waste.” Davian laughs, struggles to his feet with his cane, gets up to leave.

With that, if there are no more questions, let the MistBusters set off for their most dangerous foe yet in... THE RUINS OF BEREZ!

(OOC - the quicker we get there the quicker we can die :P )

And so, with the first restful sleep you’ve had in a while and your bellies full, you set off on the road to Berez. A flock of ravens soars out ahead of you, leading you onward.  The trail hugs the river for several miles. The dirt and grass soon turn to marsh as the trail dissolves into spongy earth pockmarked with stands of tall reeds and pools of stagnant water. A thick shroud of fog covers all. Scattered throughout the marsh are old peasant cottages, their walls covered with black mildew, their roofs mostly caved in. These decrepit dwellings seem to hunker down in the mire, as though they have long since given up on escaping the thick mud. Everywhere you look, black clouds of flies dart about, hungry for blood. The fog is much thinner on the far side of the river, where a light flashes amid a dark ring of standing stones. The ravens lead you to a rise in the hill, and you see the ruins at last.

Viorela trails behind the group, her eyes narrow and her lips pressed into a fine line. Despite the rest, she seems as if she is already absolutely freaking done with today and all days. Her sullen eyes cast a look down into the hills and she spends a moment taking it in, searching for any signs of this Baba Lysaga. She looks to the party with sullen eyes and blankly asks, "What approach do you think best?"

The swamp seems eerily quiet. Even here, the mists are pervasive as ever, and perhaps even more dangerous. From what Viorela can see, this place is completely abandoned, aside from the distant braying of... goats? Yes, from what you can tell, there are an oddly large number of goats in this area.

The Revenant answers to Viorela "If we stand a chance, it will be to approach this Mad Mother being unnoticed, hit fast and hard, trying to take her unprepared and maybe, end her quickly....we should attack from different fronts at the same time, if someone alive live here, it will be towards that goats, what do you think?"

"Agreed.....wait here..."

Elwarith will slip in to the mists and head towards the sound of the goats to scout around for signs of the witch, or her walking hut.

Viorela nods as Elwarith leaves to scout. She seems fairly quiet and keeps to herself.
