Uncle's gaze focuses on the gold coin. "Because if you don't play, you loose everything."
He locks eyes with Neris across the table. "You may think you got a plan, and can even make some gold with it, but you ain't one of them, and as soon as it's convenient they'll take it what you got. We can at least offer you a chance. So, are you in?"
Uncle's face strains to keep composure. His hand shakes as he sets his cards face down. "And don't mention my family again."

Neris nods gruffly, recognising the raw vulnerability of this old man and softening to him because of it.
Gently, she speaks, her tone becoming serious: "You're right, I ain't one of them. I ain't one of nobody. Nobody to miss me, nobody to protect. I got nothing to lose either way, 'cept my life, and who knows what that's worth nowadays..." Her voice trails off, indulging a moment of her own vulnerability and regret.
"But make no mistake: everything has a price. I'll join you", she tosses another coin into the centre, "but I will take my compensation one way or another. Until then, we who have nobody," she cocks her head at Uncle, "will have each other."
“I agree with that sentiment, at least we’ll have each other.”
“What did you discover about Magnus? Sadly I haven’t been able to learn anymore about the goings on at the slaughterhouse in Sow’s Foot, but I have a job to help the harbourmaster in a couple days time. Apparently someone impersonated a patriar to gain access to stuff they shouldn’t.” Pausing for a moment to glance over at Harper. “Maybe a good way to gain access to it, provided I don’t get caught. I don’t fancy being on the receiving end of Gramult’s wrath” shuddering a bit as I say the last bit.
"Unfortunately not much, he hasnt been seen near the docks lately, but i couldnt exactly walk up an ask the guards or harbormaster. And the ship is definitely Imperial, its almost like Magnus has vanished"
“Curious, I just spoke with him yesterday morning. I wonder if he’s been arrested or if maybe the pickup tonight is some sort of setup.” Shades says looking around the group, gaze lingering on Harper, wondering what he’s been mulling over all this time.
Terin looks up from musings as he had been listening to the group in quiet contemplation. "It would seem Shades, you have heard of my endeavors the other night. I was duping a few pensman into revealing to me where they may have been hiding those medical supplies we attempted to procure but found a seperate situation. It seems you may be looking in to me, which I am happy to give to you any help you may need should it lead to something for us."
He turns to the new people, "Do not let the fact that we have had people step away for a bit. They could be laying low and dropping heat. It is nothing new and may happen to any of us in time," he says as he watches the game. He does not play, a habit from the fact that he had won too much in the past (Insight man will insight). "I do think however that many of you can aid Neris and I," he turns to Neris, "Find a side name, to endear ourselves to a wealthy patriar and even help us move more product and people out of the city.
"We are to move high value items out, though not illegal per say, it needs to be quiet. Uncle, we can help you move things if you want to attach from a distance and can also give us some cover. Parker, perhaps between you and Neris you can create documentation?"
"Seems like a good plan to me." I say towards Harper. Looking over to the fresh recruits, "You should also come up with a codename to help prevent you getting caught and all that"
"Now this question is mainly for Uncle and Harper, but you two feel free to chime in if you have something of merit to say." … "Should I still go and 'meet' Magnus tonight? According to him, I'm bringing a crate of weapons to one of the druids near that old tree in town. Should help them deal with the watch of Fist should things go that way. But it doesn't really seem like something we need to get caught over neither. I'm of the opinion that I still go, only in so far as I said I would and I have a couple of his items for safe keeping till I get paid. Perhaps with the five of us present it won't be too big a risk?" With that, I fall silent and wait to see what everyone has to say, contemplating what could happen as a result of either going … or not.
She nods at Parker and looks him up and down, before turning to Shades.
OOC: what do i see when i look at Parker, how does he look/what's he wearing? Neris is absolutely the kind of person to dish out code names.
"Do you have this box of weapons he's expecting? Is there a reason you wouldn't want to give them to this Magnus? If you hold onto weapons you risk being caught with them." She leans back in her chair, starting to get a bit comfortable. "If there's one thing I've learned from the forgery trade, it's that you shift the product as quick as you can."
“Not necessarily, I’m to meet a fellow by the name of Finehair near the water on the west side of Rivington, then take the crate toward Brampton where there’ll be someone with a red lantern. Take the money back to where I picked up the crate and then I presume get my, our, cut of the payment.” Pausing to read the room. “Seems simple enough as long as it isn’t a setup”
Suddenly you hear footsteps on the floor above you, at least three people. Doesn't sound like they're here to buy donuts, though the conversation upstairs is muffled at best.
What do you decide and what are you going to do?
