Turning his attention to their new arrival, he says, "Well, Donne, speak up. What do you have that you think we might want? My friend here has a limited amount of time he is willing to remain in this 'dinner jacket'..."

Bilick turns to Purbag, little bits of artichoke and garlic in his beard, cider streaming out of his mouth as he talks. "And what's yer story, big fella? Ye said ye came from Tsendur, but you've been pretty tight lipped since then. What have ye got to say fer yerself?"
Purbag has devoured the dragon meat at this point. Purbag turns to Bilick. "No mean to be tight lip. Purbag take in the scene. Never seen magic that big. Magic that big mean bad. Yes, Tsendur sent me. I rolled into town and...well, I wasn't as welcomed as the group is. Tsendur also think I help with the adventure, big strong orc with a crossbow could help you. I search for a new name. My name bad. Tainted. Purbag need new name, and if I help I may find new name."

The large halfling looks at Osso, and then at Tella. "Elel, get me a drink. It's on this little stub," the halfling says as he pushes Osso's head to the side. Elel brings a tall ale swiftly, and says, "Oh, Barlick and Osso, you boys are fighting over dainty little me?" Elel seems to be enjoying this. Barlick says to Osso, "You better watch it. If you as much as smile at Elel it's going to be more than a fist I hit you with." He then turns and leaves.

"A beggar, oh, you misunderstand," Donne says. She sits down and parts her hair in front of her eyes. "What I have here is opportunity." She reveals from her hand a deck of tarot cards. She places three face up on the table. The first, A dark mage, the second, the forest, the third, death upside down. "Oh this is something. Oh my, challenges await you. I'll be honest, it is in your best interest to hear this." She puts out her hand as if she is expecting you to put something in it.
"The dark mage makes sense, though we have been asking around about her, so that may be staged," says Kendrick to Bilick, "but it's worth a gold to me to find out," he continues, putting a gold coin in the palm of the fortune teller. With a smile, he glances at Purbag and then adds to Donne, "and I'll add another gold if you can divine the new name of our orcish friend here."

At the presentation of the woman's outstretched hand, Bilick raises a bushy eyebrow at Kendrick, his suspicions about her seemingly confirmed. Watching the sailor give her the money and issue his challenge, he smirks and takes the last bite of his shellfish, determined to at least enjoy the show.
With a very non committal face, Osso allows himself to buy the drink for Barlick. He then, in a serious tone asks "where can sleep for few hours? Quiet and alone."He added the last sentence hastily, so as to not get Barlick any more upset.
Elel gives Osso a room key when Barlick isn't looking, and says "Barlick can be an ass. This one's on me." she winks, and then returns to other patrons at the bar.
Jamath says to Tella, "Wow, what was that? I though for sure your friend was going to knock that drunk bastard on his sorry ass. Um, pardon my Orcish." He watches Osso walk by on his way up the stairs to his room. " Um, are you sleeping here tonight? I mean, not that it matters."

Donne thanks you for your gold. "Ah, a name must be earned, and he has not earned it yet." Donne turns to Purbag, "I do sense however that you like cats, and nature. You have a dangerous temper, but also a dandelion heart. Onto the cards. The Dark Mage and the Forest represent the warrior Maghiel. It is a very rare combination, but I have been seeing it more frequently. You will see her soon, and you must prepare yourself. Death upside down means that death is not certain, but neither is life. You must remain alert!"
"It looks like you enjoyed your dinner," Godiva says, as she clears your empty plates. "Are you two staying for the night? All of the rooms are private, have a fire place, and warm bath. It's 2 gold pieces for the night."
Osso takes the key and merely nods at Elal. He retires to his room, locks the door and places the bedcovers on the ground. He lays out flat on the floor, having always preferred the ground to soft squishy beds. It reminded him of his village. As he slips into a light slumber, thoughts of home flutter though his mind. He falls asleep, grinning.
Purbag looks to the woman, surprised she knew about the orc tradition of earning their names. He is also taken aback by the dandelion heart...could be a guess, but she could be on to something.
"Lady right. Purbag must earn and quest for name. Purbag can't take name from Lady. Purbag like nature, respect nature. Purbag don't know cats..."
Purbag will stay where Kendrick and Bilick stays and pay the gold.

With a smile, Kendrick thinks, “Of course he has to earn his name—but if she can tell the future, she would know what name he will earn.” He stands and responds to Elal, “Yes, please give me a room. Our friend Dain will be here before sunrise to meet us, so I shall retire early,” Kendrick says, bidding his companions goodnight.

(The fortune teller tried to pull a fast one by avoiding foreseeing the name :-) I'm going to go through more of the story than usual to get the party back in sync. If you want to add or diverge somewhere, please feel free.)
Kendrick, Purbag, and Bilick each get a room for the night, where they have a warm fire and a soft bed as promised. After a long rest, they are awakened by the ever cheerful Fari. "Good morning sleepyhead. Rise and shine! " As your eyes open she continues, "Ah, there you are. You must have a big day planned. A man named Dain is downstairs waiting for you."
Dain greets Kendrick, Purbag, and Bilick with a smile. "Adventure awaits!" Dain takes you to his workshop where he hands you your sharpened weapons. (+1 to attack and damage. Also now magical) With some effort you roll, lift, carry, the bomb that Dain has created to the Beggar's Axe. "We need some way to detonate this device when the time is right. It could be done with fire, or by hitting it. Give it some thought, I'll get Osso and Tella," Dain says.
A few minutes later Dain comes back with Osso and Tella. Osso looks well rested, but Tella's hair is in a state of disarray.
Feeling rested, although with a small bruise on his cheek, Osso looks at Tella "Comb hair. Boys will think silly with hair like that" he winks as he whispers and runs his own hand across his head as if to give instruction.
"So this wall banger? Is small for such big wall. You sure gonna make hole?"
(If Osso is given his axe read on. If not, disregard)
Looking over his newly sharpened great axe a glean comes to his eyes. "Dwarf could not do better. Thank you."High praise coming from the dwarf.
Bilick is still grumbling about the cost of the room as the group comes together. "And another thing! The bed was too bloody hard. For five gold, I expect a mattress touched by the hands of the Gods themselves. I've had better night sleeps in the alleyways of this city. I can't believe ye talked me into kipping there, sailor."
Bilick eyes the explosive device suspiciously "Tell me summat, Dain. If we need to hit this thingamabob to get it to work, how long do we have ta get ta cover before it goes boom?"
”Bellick, the room was only 2 gp for the night...why did you pay 5 gp?” asks Kendrick, concerned that his friend may have been cheated.
At Dain’s comment, Kendrick starts to be a lot more careful with the bulky item, asking nervously, “Just how powerful an impact is needed to activate this device?”

"Please do be careful," Dain says. "According to my calculations, which I'm sure are correct within a standard error of 5%, mostly due to the inferiority of the measurement equipment that can be acquired in a city of stone, I am confident that 1100 Newtons of force should be sufficient." Dain, expecting to see some blank stares continues, "That's the force that a man such as myself would exert on the device if I were to stand on it, which I wouldn't, and wouldn't recommend. You see, the alchemical incineration reaction takes place quite rapidly, expanding an an exponential rate with a lambda factor of 32.6 yielding total combustion is 250 mili-seconds." He pauses and looks around making sure everyone has a moment to take in his scholar-ism. "That's two shakes of a lambs tail. So yes, do not stand on it. A rock or an arrow from a safe distance should do the trick, and of course I will define "safe" which is 20 feet with appropriate cover."
After careful effort, the device is positioned at what was once the grand entrance to the Academy, which is now not nearly so grand.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kendrick:
At approximately 30 feet away and behind some partial cover, Kendrick says, “Will this javelin do? I can throw it pretty hard.” Assuming the answer is yes, Kendrick will wait for the others to be similarly protected from the upcoming blast, then hurl the javelin at the device, ducking under cover as soon as it impacts.
OOC: I assume he can't sharpen a bow or crossbow, so we will say Purbag had a long sword with his equipment? Or a battle axe? I will add Longsword for now.
"Ha, cider gets to dwarf's brain. Bed was fine. Not hard enough though. Tella, you look rough. Everything ok?"
Purbag gives a blank stare the whole time Dain is explaining the science behind the force. After Dain finishes, he will pull out his Crossbow and stand next to Kendrick. "All we know is hit bomb, it go boom. You seem sharp with that, you take first shot." Purbag would allow Kendrick to throw his javelin first. He would wait to see if Kendrick hits before taking his shot. (Obviously not needed).
