"Um, Yeah, bye Tella." Jamath says, "I'll be right here. I'll save a seat for you." he smiles as he tips his hat to say goodbye, but you can see he is sad to see you go.
Bilick is about to poke the strange butter churn when he hears the word incendiary and he stops short, his finger hovering less than an inch away from it.. Looking a little embarassed and confused, he quickly withdraws his finger. He flicks his eyes at the others, warning them not to say too much.
"Eh, ye could say that, brother. We're on our on quest fer knowledge. Can ye tell us about that blasted dome? Where did it come from? What exactly is it?"
(OoC: Thanks. It's actually quite difficult to "speak" the language but try to make it sound not fluent. I keep going to write things correctly. It helps to have a good story teller at the helm providing RP opportunities ;) )
Oh boy, this conversation is going to be expensive what with all these big words I don't understand. Osso starts, quite poorly, calculating how much he might have to pay to continue this conversation. So instead he grabs a single gold piece and hands it to, the presumably now confused, Dain. "I pay rest with helping hold barrel"he says with a big smile. Feeling very proud of his decision, he holds both arms out indicating he is ready to lift the device.
Kendrick repeats the gesture to Osso, saying quietly, “Put the gold away, Osso, I think we can help each other without paying for the privilege. We’ll talk later.” He turns back to the conversing dwarves, visions to hear Dain’s answers to Bilick’s questions.
"Something happened just before the Academy sealed itself away behind the golden dome," Dain says. "I felt some form of magic. Whatever’s going on in there can’t be good. I'm worried for my friends among the engineers inside. I need to get in and think I knows how. I just needs some willing assistants. We can make this worth everyone's while. I'm quite skilled with weapon improvement, if I do say so myself. I will sharpen and bless your weapons if you can aid me in my quest." (+1 to attack and damage) "You should get some rest, and we will leave in the early morning, much before the sun is up."
An' one more thing, there, boyo. There's someone who we're on the trail of. Elf lass. Seems to be at the root of some o' these troubles. Very pale, seems a bit pissy, ye ken? Ye have any idea of who I'm talking about?"
Bilick speaks quietly, still jumpy about the whole business.
Now completely confused about the customs within city walls, he draws the strings on his coin purse. Looking at both Kendrick and Bilick for guidance he nods while Bilick asks about the elf. He also begins to notice the noises coming from his stomach. "Osso buy Kendrick meal, as thanks for teaching things about city." It was equal parts question and statement.
He steps over to Dain "Be back to help after food. You come with all for eating?"He extends the invitation, not realising how involved Dain was in his work that the engineer would most certainly decline.
Kendrick leaves his longspear with Dain for the upgrade, saying to Osso, "Let's get dinner and go to sleep early tonight, for we must get up early next morning. I'll talk with you about city customs if you want, but I really only know how to operate in port cities. Someone else here may be of more use."
Turning to Dain, he asks, "Should we meet you here in the morning, or do you want to come by the inn?"

Taking further inspiration from his smarter barbarian companion, he rests his Greataxe against the workbench for Dain to sharpen. "Sharp blade cut deeper. Make for quick kill"
"If you are looking for something low-brow, uh, no offence Osso, then the Beggar's Axe is good for... entertainment." Dain says. "I myself prefer a more cerebral atmosphere, and for which, there is no finer than the Topaz Fang. The Beggar's Axe is located near the Academy, while the Topaz Fang is just around the corner."
Dain turns to Bilick "An elven woman, with light skin, and a temper you say? Would she also happen to amalgamate with the undead? If I take all of these for fact, along with the current local social stasis, I'd say you are asking about Maghiel. It's impossible, but some do truly believe they have seen her."
"Thank you for the invitation," Dain says to Osso, "but these weapons can't sharpen themselves. If you would, meet me here 3 hours before the sun rises. I will need some help conveying my munition to the Academy."
"Yes, she did leave some fiery undead behind when she...uh, took the item from our patron," Kendrick finishes, willing to risk trusting Dain with a bit more of their story if he is going to trust his weapon with him. "If I'm going to have to be here three hours before sunrise, the closest inn seems best to me," he suggests.

"Axe Bar. Good dwarf name. We go eat and sleep. See you soon." He says with excitement. To an outsider he seems overly happy considering the mammoth task infront of them - taking down a magical golden forcefield. But Osso is just enjoying himself in this strange place. The sheer size of the Bridged City is something he has never witnessed before and it's somewhat overwhelming for him.
Bilick memorizes the name Maghiel, but decides to ask no more at this time instead resolving to do some further research should they successfully breach the Academy. Instead, he droos his club on the floor of Dain's workshop and looks to his fellows.
"Tella, are ye still wanting to meet yer man with the snaggle-teeth at the Axe? I'd rather stick close by to the shrine, but I dinnae think any of us should be headed out to the Axe by theirselves. Rough crowd in there."
He cracks his knuckles, as if to indicate that he expected trouble.
“Eh, as long as someone wakes me up in time, I don’t care which inn,” says Kendrick, “although at three hours before sunrise, waking me up from a distance would be wise...”
