"Sounds be we see Dain Ironheart on this shield ya? A night rest be good for Purbag. Road long and not soft sleep. We stay here?"
If it is later in the day Purbag would want to rest, as the long journey on the road is tiring. He will drink the ale purchased by Bilick and down another two of his own.
OOC: It should be slightly after midday now, as we arrived at noon and walked about a half hour to the shield.
Kendrick suggests, “Let’s finish up a hearty lunch,” as he signals for mutton and cider, “then head to the shrine to Goran after.”

Tella tries to procrastinate on going to the shrine, in which she feels uncomfortable going to. (Is there a stage in the dining area? If so,) She will go up there and sing beautifully.
(It's just afternoon now. The area where the shrine is located is about a half hour away because one of the party members knows the city.)
Bilick senses that Elel is a flirtatious bar tender that likes attention. Elel smiles and bends over toward Bilick with an elbow on the bar, and the other on her cheek. "Ooh, deep pockets? I like that. Now I wish I had seen your friend. Is there anything else I can do to get deep in your pockets?"
Elel takes Tella's gold piece. "mmm, a gold girl? You can take the room at the end of the hall upstairs. It's very privet, and has a window that looks out over the street. How long are you staying?"
Tella takes to the stage and sings a beautiful song. The two other patrons take their drinks over to tables near the stage to watch Tella perform. Two other patrons enter, and stop to listen to her sing. When she has finished her song, the man who was at the bar puts a silver piece in Tella and says in a terribly scratchy voice that wavers "My name is Jamath. I'm a singer too. Last night I was singing at the theater playing the lead roll in a musical." Jamath talks with a lisp, is not very coordinated or particularly handsome.
Seeing Elal flirting with Bilick, but not fully understanding what flirting is he interrupts with "if you no seen evil elf, maybe you know someone who is seen evil elf". He places a silver piece on the bar with a grin. It is the done thing apparently. Pay people you don't know.
Bilick pats his kin on the shoulder and turns back to Elel and waggles his bushy black eyebrows in a manner he thinks is seductive, but is more likely ridiculous.
"He's not wrong, lass. If ye hear of anything, the slightest thing that may seem a wee bit daft, I'll pay. Keep yer ears open. Me and me mates have some...business at the temple, but we'll be back this way soon." He places a gold on top of Osso's silver.
"Consider this yer deposit. And, an excuse for me to come back and see ye."
He winks at her, playing up to her flirtations, then walks back and join Kendrick at his table, whispering to the barbarian. "That lass talks to e'ryone. If she dinnae know what we're talking about, its safe to say we're barking up the wrong tree in here. Let's finish our food and head out to the temple. And why in blazes is the serpent lass singing?" He turns and watches Tella's performance, utterly baffled.
”I don’t know what she is doing, Bilick, but it sounds nice. Maybe it is how she accesses her magic?” replies Kendrick, wondering if this is how their mage is trying to magically understand the golden shield.
Shrugging, Kendrick adds, “I’m ready to go to the shrine when you are.”

Elel looks right at Osso with a big smile says "That's right, I no see evil elf. I don't want to see evil elf. What I do like to see more is a strong, brave dwarf." Elel gives him a wink as she caresses his hand that has the silver piece.
Elel's eyes light up when she see's Bilick's gold, she bites her lip, "ooh, maybe I do want to get to know this naughty elf. I will definitely be ready for you when you come back."
Jamath is a little taken aback that Tella is talking to him. He is tripping over himself, and his tongue is no exception."Um... Yeah... me to.. Err.. The pleasure is all mine." He manages to get out. "Let me buy you a drink. Um, so, how you doin?"
Elel blows a kiss to the party as they leave. "Ta ta, hope to see you back in here soon."
You make your way over to Dain Ironheart's shrine and workshop. He is busy at work on a cylindrical contraption. It is located far away from his smithing fire. It looks like he is trying to crimp a lid on a metal cylinder He's using a wooden hammer, and a pair of pliers alternately. It seems it would be easier to work with the metal if he heated it on his fire, or used a metal hammer, but those tools remain on his work bench. There is a nearly empty bag of black, slightly metallic, powder on the floor in the corner.
Reaching for his coin purse to pay this man for a conversation, as is customary, Osso calls out "I can help if want. I make box and basket at village. But skin use, not metal." He looks to Kendrick for guidance of when to pay the man.
Kendrick holds his hand out, face down, indicating to Osso that he should hold on to his coin for now. Clearing his throat and addressing the smith, he says, "Are you Dain Ironheart? We are trying to get past the Golden Shield to investigate a theft and heard you might have an idea of how to do that."

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Fascinated by the dwarf's work and impressed that he is working with wood, not metal, Bilick will inspect the cylindrical device, trying to get a sense of what, exactly, his kin is working on.
Investigation check (or Arcana, its the same bonus): 20
Dain turns from his work. "Why hello, yes I'm Dain." Dain is stout and strong, but has a warm and gentle smile. "You are trying to get passed the gold shield as well? Do you have friends trapped inside too?"
Bilick examines what Dain is working on and is quite confident that it is a butter churn.
"This, my friends," Dain says "Is an incendiary device that I most carefully designed applying advanced euclidean calculus to determine the precise shape to direct the maximum energy into the gold wall. It required four dimensional rotational integrals which took me, a renowned scholar, days to solve. The trouble is, I need some help deploying it. As you can see it is quite large and unwieldy. If you can help me, then I will be indebted to you."

Osso
"Bye lady" he utters to Elal as he sees Kendrick heading for the door. "Bad guy time".
He walks over to the fellow barbarian. "Osso ok." Indicating he ok to leave, although he's feeling good also.
Bilick drains the dregs of his porter and stands up, following Kendrick to the door, and shooting a wink at Elel along the way.
Tella leaves with the rest of the group.
