Devious serpent folk devoid of compassion, yuan-ti manipulate other creatures by arousing their doubts, evoking their fears, and elevating and crushing their hopes. From remote temples in jungles, swamps, and deserts, the yuan-ti plot to supplant and dominate all other races and to make themselves gods.
Divine favor lasts 1 minute. The snake screeches and disintegrates. From the ashes of the serpent comes a shadowy cobra. It slithers through the air into the jungle in the direction of the temple.

(Rat) I'm thoroughly freaked out about all the snakes. When one starts slithering through the AIR towards the jungle, I'll just close my eyes for a second and imagine the hand of death reaching out for the cobra. In essence casting Chill Touch: 10 to hit, 5 necrotic damage.
Regardless if the spell hits or not, "I can't take these damn whispers any more, we need to go sort this shit out. Lets go investigate the temple."
You had advantage on the undead snake. The ghost serpent slithers towards the temple, instead of slithering through one of the snake sized wholes, it moves in a strange pattern, forming a rectangular shape on the wall. Then, the snake vanishes, leaving the outline of a door. The doorknob is disguised as a stone serpent's head.

The serpent head moves like a lever being pulled. The door slides open, revealing a dark passage beyond (it is dimly lit (see the basic rules)). Out of the serpent's eyes shoot two darts. Because Rat was not in the way, one dart hits the hand, making it slowly sink to the ground in a classic "dying" motion, ending he spell. The other dart hits a palm tree. The bark around the place where the dart hit cracks and turns a sickly black color.

Hm. Good Point. I keep forgetting that my players and their characters are different people.

The wood is cracked and blackened by the poison. It seems to slowly be disintegrating to dust. The dart didn't even go deep into the bark of the tree. The dart's point was only about a centimeter in. The tree's leaves are already wilted. Suddenly, a gust of cold and the faint sound of moaning can be heard from beyond the dark passage leading into the temple.
The dart is made of silver and glass. The needle of the dart is made of silver. A silver snake spirals around the main body of the dart, which is made of hollow crystal. Inside the crystal is a sickly, black-colored liquid.

The dart can be used to make a ranged attack, treated as a normal dart (except that it deals an extra 2d6 acid damage and the target must make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned for 1 hour).
In the dim light, Rat can make out a 70-foot long corridor ahead. Further down the corridor are two cultist guards. They don't notice you moving by in the shadows. At the end of the corridor, a passage leads to the left.

I never said they were. There is actually a secret way of opening the secret passages of the temple without triggering the dart trap.

23 to hit.

OOC: How long does divine favor last? Bother.

(Rat) I will cast Mage Hand and use it to try to open the door, being at maximum distance away (30ft I believe).

Aelmyn lets out a quick scream upon seeing a snake slither out from my bedroll and die. He followed the others.
I'd like to pull out the dart from the palm tree and look at it closer. Investigation: 3

(Rat) I will inch closer to the doorway and once my eyes get used to the darkness inside, start moving quietly inside.
To the others before I go in, "I'll go a bit ahead and motion to follow if it looks safe."
I'll also cast another Mage Hand and leave it behind me, holding up a palm facing the rest of the group to hold until I scout a bit.
Stealth check: 22, perception check: 11. I also have superior darkvision up to 120ft.
Can I use the dart against human cultists as a melee weapon?
