Eoni finds a loose wire among those attached to the dragonshard and a hole in the dragonshard with no wire attached. She attaches the loose wire to the dragonshard causing the lift to descend into the ruins of Old Sharn. While that wire is attached to the crystal, the lift cannot be called anywhere else in the city.
The lift seems to descend forever into the belly of Sharn. Several minutes pass by and the lift rattles and shakes, as if passing into some place it was not meant to go. This rumbling builds to a violent peak then the lift stops, and its doors open.
By the lift’s interior light, you can see into a vast, unlit cavern strewn with broken stonework from ancient buildings as far as you can see in every direction. The air is stale, and filled with dust and the scent of decay. These are the ruins of the cities atop which Sharn is built.
Ahead of you yawns a fifty-foot-diameter, ten-foot-deep pit that seems to have been intentionally dug. You hear the soft sobs of a young child coming from a wooden shed on the far side to the pit.
The cavern is irregular in shape and hundreds of feet in diameter. Its uneven ceiling ranges in height from 15 to 30 feet. Due to the rubble, the ground around the pit counts as difficult terrain.

You file out of the lift and start making your way across the excavation site. Suddenly from the darkness four arrows streak out. One at Eoni, one at Draskan, one at Rollo and one at Leowin. Noticing where one of the arrows came, Draskan dashes to the left towards the location. Maul in his hands ready to strike as he tries to adjust his eyes to the dark.

Diomedes grasps the top of his shield with his right hand - Let the light of the hearth guide our way. As he finishes speaking, a strong light as if from a roaring hearthfire emits from his shield in all directions (20ft of strong light with a further 20ft of dim light)

With the warm glow suddenly appearing you see 4 pairs of beady red eyes blink rapidly as the goblins are now illuminated in the dim light.
On seeing the eyes, Leowin raises his shortbow and looses an arrow at the first pair

The bolt bounces off of the rocky lip but a lucky richochet causes it bounce into the goblins thigh nicking an artery and it bleeds out in seconds
