As they work to get the cart ready and then put in the coffin, Ismark and Ireena move to lead the way to the church. On the way you pass the tavern and the shop the party passed the previous day. As you approach the church you fully see a castle on a large mountain like pillar of Earth.
Atop a slight rise, against the roots of the pillar stone that supports Castle Ravenloft, stands a gray, sagging edifice of stone and wood. This church has obviously weathered the assaults of evil for centuries on end and is worn and weary. A bell tower rises toward the back, and flickering light shines through holes in the shingled roof. The rafters strain feebly against their load.
The heavy wooden doors of the church are covered with claw marks and scarred by fire.
As he goes inside it opens up to show the interior of th church.
The doors open to reveal a ten-foot-wide, twenty-foot-long hall leading to a brightly lit chapel. The hall is unlit and reeks of mildew. Four doors, two on each side of the hall, lead to adjacent chambers.
You can see that the chapel is strewn with debris, and you hear a soft voice from within reciting a prayer. Suddenly, the prayer is blotted out by an inhuman scream that rises up from beneath the wooden floor.

Errol:
Maintaining his usual demeanor of relaxed watchfulness as they travel, Errol observes everything they pass, looking for clues and/or threats. As they near the church and Falzaren goes ahead, he helps to maneuver the cart around so the casket can be unloaded easily. Suddenly, an inhuman scream comes from inside! Fighting his instinct to run inside and help, Errol looks around carefully to see if someone is using this as a distraction to perhaps come and steal the body.

Once Tierra is free of the wagon, she slowly turns back into a human. "That was interesting,"she smiles, "I've never actually gotten to do that before. I suppose we have to go... inside... now," she says, looking at the church. She will follow Nadariel in.
”If a few of you would stay back and help me get the casket into the church, I would appreciate it,” says Errol, shouldering one corner of the coffin and preparing to carry it in.

Not needing to be asked twice, Belmarm hurries after Nadriel and Falzaren, if only to avoid "luggage" duty. A few choice words in spoken in elvish along the way summons a layer of black ice to coat his form. This time, he would be prepared for any lucky strikes! And unless stopped at the door, he continues on inside, slowing his step past the threshold to a more casual gait, but keeping a hand hovering close to his blade.

Ismark comes to help with the coffin and soon those carrying it are able to it inside. As Nadriel calls out, the man praying pauses and moved to see who called to him. The man appears older and very haggard. "You say you need a priest? What do you need of me?"
Falzaren will bow to him, "Sorry to interrupt your prayers, but this poor soul needs to be laid to rest and we'd like your blessing to do so. Also, what was that scream, does something trouble you?"
„Carefull, i don‘t think he was the one screaming.“ Nadariel will keep his distance and open his Divine Sense to detect unnatural energies.
The presence of strong evil registers on your senses like a noxious odor, and powerful good rings like heavenly music in your ears. As an action, you can open your awareness to detect such forces. Until the end of your next turn, you know the location of any celestial, fiend, or undead within 60 feet of you that is not behind total cover. You know the type (celestial, fiend, or undead) of any being whose presence you sense, but not its identity (the vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich, for instance). Within the same radius, you also detect the presence of any place or object that has been consecrated or desecrated, as with the hallow spell.
The man nods as he sees the the two siblings, motioning for them to come inside as he waves off the scream like it did not happen. "Come along then. I was waiting for you two to come." He says to Ismark and Ireena.
From beneath the floor Nadriel senses something undead but nothing else.

Just to clarify, the church is not consecreted?
(No it is not. You sense some holy energy from the priest but the church itself is a rundown mess.)
“Should we bring the coffin inside?” Falzaren will ask, curiously looking around.
