He looks around suspiciously, moves his head a little closer to you and speaks in a hushed tone:
"Now look, this isn't something that is ready for print at this point. At least not yet, or fully in the open. But my sources tell me that Lady Amallia Castlanter has an unknown, and hidden, evil twin sister. Now we haven't gotten her name yet, but our sources are sure that SHE is the Black Viper!"
"But we have to tread carefully on this one as far as what we print. The Castlanter family is not very fond of us after our last article "seemed" to be about them."
"You know, I'll admit I'm not too familiar with the Darkeyes family. Are you looking to establish some new business here in Waterdeep? Or maybe some family holdings, or some other sort of family presence?" as he reaches for a pencil and paper and starts scratching out some notes...
Mr . Rudderbust I am of nobility, but I have only recently moved here. I am originally from Baulder's Gate. My father achieved nobility before I was born. As to what I intend to do here, I've not quiet planned that out . I've only been in Waterdeep 4 & 1/2 weeks now. As far as bussiness goes, come on over to Trollskull Tavern this evening or tonight, we are having a Grand Opening. Who knows, it could even be a story for you if you like reporting on good food, drink , fellowship, and things that go along with that
As he's taking notes frantically, "Hmm, good, good. Trollskull Tavern, you say? I heard that already opened recently?"
"That does sound like a good idea, someone from here will definitely be there. That neighborhood could use a better tavern. We've done business with that guy at Frewn's Brews before. That guy seems a bit on the cheap side to me."
I hope it does become a good tavern in that neighborhood if not the best . I don't know too many people just yet here in Waterdeep. I was sent to The Halls of Justice for further training, and a few weeks after my arrival here I am.
Actually I am a member of the order . My impression on the nobles here.....? Honestly I do not know because as far as I know I've not met any of the nobility here. I don't really know what the differences are between the nobles of the two cities but I'm certain that petty squabbles are about the same * he smirks as he says that bc he is half joking / half certain he's right * I can tell you this much though : the culture is different between the two cities.
On that Mr. Rudderbust I must go now , I've a busy day just as you have a busy day . I have a few more stops to make before I deal with the tavern & partake in my first trolltide celebration. Thank you for your information , many blessings of Tyr upon you and yours. * Arthur Shakes Mr. Rudderbusts hand ( unless declined ) and leaves out for the halls of justice *
As Arthur wanders down Saerdoun Street close to the Manor on the way to the Halls of Justice(it IS on the way), he sees Cloud lounging around on her patio down the street.
Children in troll masks run through the fog and drizzle, knocking on doors and stopping adults in the streets. Those who aren't placated with candied apples, sticks of salted meat, and other treats perpetrate all manner of tricks. A grumpy woman has a rat thrown in her face. A burly dwarf has his pipe pilfered.
A small crowd of onlookers is gathered around a ten-foot-tall wicker effigy of a troll, stamping their feet as two young men struggle to set the likeness ablaze with sputtering torches.
Suddenly, from a side alley, a white haired man bolts towards you, his face a mask of terror! Behind him lurches a massive, green skinned giant dragging a ball and chain across a cobbled street. A blind helm covers the trolls eyes, but it's mouth is a veritable cavern of sharp teeth. It flails it's arms, slashing at the fog around it, and lets out a horrible wail of frustration. The crowd panicks at the sight of it and flees. Meanwhile, two members of the City Watch sneak up behind the blind troll, hoping to strike a mortal blow.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Cloud is surprised this round as the screaming guy didn't exactly warn her from this far away.
As the troll stomps through whatever cart that was in his way, most of the surrounding kids scatter! At least a dozen take it upon themselves to pelt this new danger with tomatoes, apples, stones, whatever they can get their hands on.
To hit then damage for each:
1. 163
2. 192
3. 131
4. 82
5. 123
6. 101
7. 194
8. 164
9. 183
10. 74
11. 34
12. 162
(please don't freeze up rolling so many dice at once! And I had to redo them all since they don't have disadvantage)
The troll starts swinging around trying to connect with whatever is hitting it!
Each of the two City Watch close the distance, swing at the troll, then back off out of reach:
Tall City Watch: 256
Short City Watch: 135
The guy who screamed out the warning says: "It's a troll, Do something!" and runs away towards the Manor
Ooc - nice!

"Ah well I wish you the best of luck! Only a few weeks in Waterdeep then?" takes down some notes,
"Halls of Justice, huh? Would you happen to be a member of the Order?" writes down more notes,
"So what's your impression of the local nobility? How are they different from the Baldur's gate families?" and more notes...
OOC - I'm back home with my notes, He also shared that she wears a mask to hide her disfigurment.
