Beg pardon? Ms. Garloth I've never done that sort of thing in my life nor do I intend to. We have been sent on a mission by the Grey hands to try to convince this young dragon to move on elsewhere. Yevis here says you may be of assistance .
Yevis says, "Ma'am, forget about the dragon. That isn't important. We need to go search for something out in the water. Rumors back at the House of Inspired Hands are that you have in your possession something that would make it much easier to locate things IN the water?"
She eyes the little gnome for a bit. "I do have something... But you have to make it worth my while. You have to search along the bay, yes? I get half of anything you find, and first pick. Are there any problems with that?" She looks at both of you.
"Well that's easy, don't come back empty handed. Think you can out and whatever your dragon thing is and come back saying (sarcastically) oh no, we looked all over and didn't find anything (sarcasm off) silly adventurers and your quests. Grinda gets paid!
We will do our best Ma'am. I'll see to it you get compensated on the off chance that that happens . Im at Troll skull manor / troll skull tavern , just incase.Thank you very much .
* If she has nothing to add Yevis & Arthur will be on their way *
"Sure, whatever that is. Come with me." She takes you both past a messy room with an unmade bed, some sort of table full of lab equipment, a small stove, a stuffed chair in poor condition, a wooden sea chest, and other various things. It's filthy in here, but it seems better than what you would think considering the state of all the other buildings in the area.
She leads into the next room, which appears to be a large closed off dock. Floating inside is what appears to be a Large iron barrel. Yevis stops and stares, wide-eyed "It's true!" then he start walking around the narrow dock, trying to look at every part of it. "It's a real Apparatus!"
Glinda says "Don't you go getting any fool heading gnomish ideas. You try your Gond-ish ways with this and you'll both drown!" She turns to Arthur and says quietly "You might want to let him drive though, it gets dark out in the deeper waters."
Yes Ma'am. His sight in the dark is much better than the light I can produce given to me by Tyr himself . I've never seen one of these things before( Arthur stares at it in awe for a few seconds ). So I presume that this will take us below the sea surface and allow us some travel almost like a carriage on land ?
Yevis takes the pilot seat with a face full of awe. After a second he puts on his serious face and gets to work. He works all the levers, testing them out. He opens and closes hatches and shutters, deploys legs and a tail, turns this way and that, deploys some crab arms out front, raises and lowers the whole thing in the water. Once he is comfortable, he moves one of the crab arms to open some hatch at the bottom of the dock, and pilots the craft out. The Apparatus moves about in a jerky motion as Yevis gets used to the controls. The water seems to only be about 15 feet deep here. After a little bit of "swimming" you move along into deeper waters.
Yevis says "Keep your eyes out for whatever stuff she wants us to find. Treasure, junk, crabs, she didn't really specify did she?"
Make an Intelligence (Investigation) roll for Arthur for the search.
Arthur finds a couple of things here and there over the course of an hour or two. Yevis says "Maybe I should do the searching on the way back. I'll have a better handle on these controls by then. What is that?"
From the darker parts of the waters, a large shark approaches.
Yevis, what do suggest we do, run or fight? I have no idea how tough this apparatus is , how fast it is, or how fight capable it is. I might be able to use this shard ( pulls his purple shard from the waterproof scroll case ) to give the claws a bit more damage if we have to fight
Yevis, outrun if you think you can if we cant ( Arthur takes his shard and powers the attack button / lever ) hit it with this lever. I'm powering it now . I'll pull and put back to neutral on this attack
15 to hit
Idk what to roll for the aparaatus,'s damage if Arthur hit
Did Arthur's original attack hit? If shark is swimming away we will go the opposite direction . " Yevis get us away from the shark if it is leaving , preferably towards shallower water

I've no issue with that Ms.Garloth . If we come back empty handed though, what would suffice ?

"Yes it will. I've labeled all the levers inside. Don't drown, don't break it, and don't come back empty handed."
Yes Ma'am. Yevis , lead the way . * when Yevis takes the wheel ( or gears in this case ) Arthur will follow and take a seat

8 investigation check
No, she honestly didn't specify , maybe we can sell murky water to a woman that lives in a makeshift hut at the dock? Arthur jokes

Roll Initiative!
9
12 Arthur's init
7 Yevis's init ( ignore if I'm not to roll his )
Arthur is up first.
(And Yevis pretty much does the movement since you're both inside)
Yevis, what do suggest we do, run or fight? I have no idea how tough this apparatus is , how fast it is, or how fight capable it is. I might be able to use this shard ( pulls his purple shard from the waterproof scroll case ) to give the claws a bit more damage if we have to fight

If shard activates 1
Shark Turn
The shark closes the distance, makes some kind of noise you can hear from inside(Nature check), then attacks:
To Hit: 13 Dmg: 31 HIT
Then swims 20 feet away and turns around for another pass.
Yevis Turn
Yevis says: "I don't think this thing moves as fast as him. This lever #5, up attacks and down grabs."
Yevis is Arthur's Sidekick, Arthur does his actions during combat. I'll just pipe in for him if he has to say anything.
Yevis's attack 16 to hit
11 nature check for Arthur
Yevis misses the attack on nothing next the two of you. (the shark attacked, then swam away)
Arthur's turn.
Did Arthur's original attack hit? If shark is swimming away we will go the opposite direction . " Yevis get us away from the shark if it is leaving , preferably towards shallower water
