Ikko, you look at how the hand is oriented. It looks like it once held something as if inspecting it. His palm is facing the ceiling and his fingers once wrapped around something round it seems.
A few inspect the carpet. Though you roll low, you definitely can tell this carpet is magical. A normal carpet would surely deteriorate in this environment, and this carpet is pristine. When you inspect the carpet, you also notice that there are pieces of paper scattered in front of where Riane's skeleton sits. There appears to be writing on them.
Those who inspect the shield have the same feeling. It is finely crafted and is made from a yew tree and is covered in couatl feathers.
MacKenzie you sense no threats in this room, and you know it would be difficult to follow down the pit without making much noise. You look elsewhere in the chamber and don't find anything.

Heilamin gathers the pieces of paper and looks to see if he recognizes the writing, and if he might be able to piece together the sheet from where the pieces came and whether a message can be gleaned from the reconstructed pieces.
You gather all of the pages Heilamin. They look to be parts of Riane's journal.
You also feel something tug below your feet. You look down after gather the pages, and you are almost certain the rug is moving. Sure enough, the corner of the rug lifts off the ground, struggling under the large stone table, and then relaxes again.

Ikko:
Looking at the carpet, Ikko says, "It would make sense that one would need flying transportation to get in or out of this place. Perhaps it is a carpet of flying." Moving over to the carpet, Ikko pets it on the tasseled corner, saying, "C'mon little buddy, let's get you out from under this heavy table." Ikko tries to lift the table up enough for the rug to escape.

Seeing Heilamin work on the journal, he adds, "Let me know if you need help piecing that together."

Heilamin looks around the room to see if he can see any circles that look like eyes, any snakes, any wolves (particularly if there are three), and perhaps a place where one might put a coin into stone. Heilamin also investigates the map further after having pieced together the parts of Riane's journal to see if those clues give away any hints that relate to the map on the wall.
After asking Heilamin what he is looking for, Ikko assists him with his investigation (Ikko can take the help action to give Heilamin advantage on Perception first, and possibly other skills as well).

With some help, you are able to lift up the table and help the carpet out from underneath, careful not to damage it. It is 6 ft. by 9 ft. and can hold up to 6 creatures. Once freed from under the table the carpet shakes, like a dog after a bath, and then stretches out all of it's fibers after many many years under a table. It then rests on the ground next to you.
Heilamin this chamber is very bland. Other than the map on the wall, there are no decorations. The only objects you see are the map, a table, the flying carpet, a chair, and Riane's skeleton. You check Riane's skeleton again, and his head is positioned as if he was looking at the map, and his hand is oriented to have been holding something. You think that the medallion you hold might fit in the skeleton's hand.

Attempting to assist Heilamin in his search, Ikko notices the strange positioning of the skeleton. "It almost appears as if the skeleton is looking at a particular location on the map, or perhaps something that was in his hand--or maybe both!" he exclaims with sudden inspiration, "Heilamin, do you think the skeleton had a lens of some kind in its hand that would indicate where he was looking when he died?"

Valzes looks at the carpet, amazed by the sight. She gets closer to the carpet and pokes it a few times with her fingers. "So it is a magic carpet after all. Interesting."
Heilamin pulls out the medallion and places it in Riane's hand. He then backs up to see if the medallion shows a particular spot on the map when viewed from Riane's perspective.
Heilamin, you place the medallion in the skeletons hand. It fits perfectly, as if it was meant to be there. You also get a sense of calming warmth when you place the medallion. It seems to be emitting from the skeleton. The medallion lines up perfectly with the map on the opposite wall. You peer through and the holes that looked like cracks from age actually line up perfectly with the mountain ridges of Elsath! You peer through and where the hole in the center of the medallion lines up...must be the location of the city of Hearth.
And as you all realize where in Elasth this shunned city is, Jannell looks at the map, points her finger at the spot the medallion points to, "I have the location locked in memory. Mark it on any maps you may have, I do not need to".
You all stand around, talk about the revelation, and have a few more moments the skeleton sitting at the table creaks...as if it is moving for the first time in one hundred years. The creaks turn to cracks, and after a few moments.....the skeleton collapses on the floor. The medallion rolls out of his hand and lands at your feet, Heilamin. You all swear that just before the skeleton collapse, you saw a smile on it's skeletal face. But now, Riane's skeleton lies motionless in a heap of bones on the floor. The armor the skeleton wore has magically donned off the skeletal body and now lies on the floor.

MacKenzie seems a little disinterested in the armor and shield, stating "The armor does not seem as sturdy as my own, can anyone else benefit from them?"
