The dwarves and gnomes look thirstily at Droop as he drains another water skin.
"Some of us were captured by the Yakfolk while hunting. Some of us were offered hospitality in the yakfolk village, and then they drugged us and put us to sleep. I don't want to be rude and ungrateful, but if you've no more provisions, we will be on our way out of here. Are the yakfolk still in the village? We'll have to sneak around them. And that won't be easy in our current state of exhaustion."
Lyngheid casts Create Food and Water for the prisoners, though her eyes were silently judging the dwarves for not putting up a better fight....though she grudgingly admitted to herself that she too had been drugged by the dumb cow-people.
Umbriel gives the diamond to Lyngheid as the dwarves leave. "If I'm not mistaken, certain spells used in preventing premature death require diamonds of significant value. Perhaps you may find this helpful."
To the group, he says "I could certainly use a short rest, but it would not be easy knowing there are others in need of rescue below. I can still be of use if we head down now, but I will follow what the group wishes."

Lyngheid grinned, " Yeah, we're going to go have a chat to the big sweaty plonkers about the ethics of slavery."
To Umbriel she nodded, " Lets hope its not needed."
Baeshra nods, "A rest would be good, yes. Droop, here, take these for now, perhaps not the best weapons, but better than nothing." He hands over the Spider staff and his shield. (Staff will need attuning, but he can do that over the rest.)
Droop nods. "Thank you Bashrah. Droop will swing Bashra's mighty staff!!"
OK, take a short rest, spend the hit die if you need to. The hour passes just fine. What's the plan now? You are pretty deep in the mines, several hundred feet down. The main spiral staircase that you were following keeps going down.
After their short rest, the party continues down, Droop keeps stumbling and falling down due to exhaustion. After 15 minutes of this, you realize that his slow speed is slowing down the party's progress considerably (his speed is halved due to exhaustion).
Nevertheless, your journey continues down. Eventually, the stairs stop and turn into more mining tunnels with rails for carts on the tunnel floors. Following the tunnels you can tell they are sloped downward slightly. Droop says he has never been down this far.
Soon, you see light coming from the tunnels ahead, light not of your own making. It is flickering like torch light. Approaching the end of the tunnel, you can see that the tunnel ends in a large chamber, and the tracks extend a few feet into this chamber and end at a pair of wooden barriers. Clanking metal and moving chain sounds are coming from beyond the room. You can't make out more than that without getting closer.
Nyx gives the dwarves and gnomes some more her rations (marked four off her sheet).
"So how did you end up being captured.?"

" Aye, How?", Lyngheid says levelly.
(while the questioning is going on, Umbriel will cut the diamond out of the salamander)
You've got it, one 500 gold piece diamond.

"I think all of the yakfolk are gone," Ireniana says.
I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.

"Thank you!"
They all quickly eat all of the created food and drink all of the water and then head out.
"That's good to know about the Yakfolk. Evil creatures. We'll be going now. You all should come with us. There's Fire Giants down below."
What's the plan now? Short rest or keep going down? Or return topside?

" Lets rest up for a wee while."
"Agreed, let's rest," Ireniana adds.

" Downward! Perhaps someone who can see in the dark should lead the way? But I'm noisy as hell...."
Nyx looks sheepish.

(Short rest HD for Umbriel: 20)
Umbriel says "Stay here, I'll sneak ahead and take a look."
He'll cast Invisibility on himself, and get close enough to see into the room. Once there, he'll use Message to relay back to Lyngheid what he sees.
