Feeling a closer connection to the power that fuels his abilities, Umbriel will remove his leather armor and quietly channel some shadowy arcane energy through his hands and cast Mage Armor on himself. He will then assist Lyngheid with moving Sildar's unconscious form to wherever the party camps for the duration of the night.
(ooc: since Umbriel can now cast Mage Armor at will thanks to my Eldritch Invocation, I'd like to just keep re-casting it every eight hours or so if that's alright with the DM. Gives me more protection than my leather armor.)
Omen gets his mule Percy from back where they left him and sets up a small camp outside of the cave.
Lyngheid grabs Sildar's feet and begins to take him to Klarg's cave.
Baeshra helps search the goblin bodies (see below) then gets the rest of his equipment from Candy the Mule. He is now encumbered, but that's OK until we get to Phandalin.
Whistler, you do not see any more living goblins, and you feel pretty confident about it.
Rosie recovers a bunch of crossbow bolts, and other than the magic from your fellow party members, you don't pick anything up with your Detect Magic spell.
Umbriel, helps Lyngheid move Sildar's form to Klarg's cave. And yes, sounds good Re: Mage Armor.
Alright, so the party gathers themselves, some have left immediately, never to be seen again. Some have stayed, giving a new mix to the established team. They make their way to Klarg's cave (with Omen staying outside with his mule) and everyone takes a long rest.
Before leaving Yeemik's cavern, you searched the goblin bodies and found quite a few shiny pebbles, food scraps that you probably don't want to eat, and a few claws and teeth from some unidentifiable animals.
On two of the goblins you found a total of 15 copper pieces. On Yeemik, you found a pouch containing 7 gold teeth and 30 silver pieces.
After the long rest, the party wakes up, with most of you in Klarg's cave. Sildar groans and rolls over, now fully refreshed.
"Ah, thank you everyone. I thought we were all goners for a moment. Well, more than a moment. The bugbear and the goblins ambushed Gundren and I." Sildar pounds his fist: "Gods! I should have seen that coming."
"We need to get to Phandalin. I'll pay you 70 GP if you'll escort me there."
Sildar seems willing to talk a little further before setting out. There is also a cavern full of chests, crates, barrels some of which have the Lionshield Coster emblem on them that a few of you recognize and realize it is the missing shipment you were sent to find.
Rosie walks over the Sildar. "What happened to Gundren? Did he make it? How are you doing, you poor dear?"
"Oh, I am doing fine now, thank you! They took Gundren. I think they were going to eat me. But you all saved me. Let me start over."
Sildar collects himself:
"Gundren and his brothers Tharden and Nundro recently located an entrance to the long-lost Wave Echo Cave, site of the mines of Phandelver's Pact."
"
More than five hundred years ago, clans of dwarves and gnomes made an agreement known as the Phandelver’s Pact, by which they would share a rich mine in a wondrous cavern known as Wave Echo Cave. In addition to its mineral wealth, the mine contained great magical power. Human spellcasters allied themselves with the dwarves and gnomes to channel and bind that energy into a great forge (called the Forge of Spells), where magic items could be crafted. Times were good, and the nearby human town of Phandalin (pronounced fan-duh-lin) prospered as well. But then disaster struck when orcs swept through the North and laid waste to all in their path.
A powerful force of orcs reinforced by evil mercenary wizards attacked Wave Echo Cave to seize its riches and magic treasures. Human wizards fought alongside their dwarf and gnome allies to defend the Forge of Spells, and the ensuing spell battle destroyed much of the cavern. Few survived the cave-ins and tremors, and the location of Wave Echo Cave was lost.
"
"That's what he was so excited and mysterious about!"
"Anyway, I'm a member of the Lord's Alliance, and my contact in Phandalin is another member, a wizard named Iarno Albrek. He went to Phandalin two months ago to establish order there. After we hadn't heard from him, I was sent to investigate, so that's why I volunteered to accompany Gundren on his way to Phandalin."
"I overheard the goblins say that someone called The Black Spider told the bugbear to bring Gundren to him. I don't know who or what the Black Spider is, but now I'm going to have to find out."
"Gundren had a map showing the secret location of Wave Echo Cave, but the goblins took it. I believed that Klarg sent the map and Gundren to the chief of the Cragmaws at a place called Cragmaw Castle. I don't know where that is, but someone in Phandalin might know."
"Well, then there isn't much time to lose. If this Black Spider has Gundren and the map, it's only a matter of time before he pieces together the location of the Wave Echo Cave. We'll need to collect this gear, load it onto those carts we found by the road, and make best speed to Phandalin." Umbriel stands, and moves to collect his gear.
As Omen sees people moving out of the cave he begins to break camp, loading Percy. "I take it we are off then?" he asks. "Is there another step to this or are we done?"
"It looks as though the individuals they rescued and the goods they were transporting were in the employ of Sildar and someone named Gundren. Sildar is offering to pay us to escort him the rest of the way to Phandalin, but this goblin nest is connected to something - or someone - bigger. I was never much one for the histories, but in your arcane research have you ever heard of a 'Wave Echo Cave'? Or the 'Forge of Spells'?"

Sildar nods, then replies: "Gundren's a tough old coot, I know he will be fine."
The party begins ferrying the equipment from Klarg's cave down the goblin trail and back to the main road. The supplies and stores are bulky, luckily you have a couple of carts from the Lionshield Coster to transport them.
Hidden at the bottom of the stack is an unlocked treasure chest that must have belonged to Klarg. In it you find, 700 copper pieces, 210 silver pieces, 5 gold pieces, 4 [Tooltip Not Found], a jade statuette of a frog with tiny golden orbs for eyes, and a bright red ruby.
Alright, when ready, the party has loaded the carts up, uncovered Gundren's wagon and is ready to head out to Phandalin. It took quite a while to ferry all of the things back to the main road and load them on the carts, it's about 10:00PM now. What does everyone want to do?
OOC: Whoever takes the ruby and the jade frog, mark it as "Klarg's jade frog" and "Klarg's red ruby" in your inventory. Anyone wishing to appraise them can make an Intelligence check. Proficiency with a jewelers kit even if you don't have it, grants you advantage on the check.
"Phandalin!" squawks Whistler with greatsword pointing in the rough direction before carefully cleaning his trusty oversized blade and sheathing it. Noticing the coin being passed around, he puts out a leathery clawed hand, "MINE?!" he mimicks.

Baeshra would try his best to evenly distribute the coin among the entire group (how many?) and offer the frog and ruby to the newcomers as thanks for their help rescuing his initial group.
On their way back to town, "I think I will stick with this adventure until the end, despite the recent danger, it is most exciting and interesting. Sildar, do you know much about Phandalin?"
When they arrive in town, he will look for wherever they need to return the supplies and then an inn for a much needed night's rest.
Sildar replies: "Not much, it's fairly small these days I think, although back when the mine was running it was quite a big town. In recent years it has started to be revived as people are making other mines in the area. I was really hoping Iarno Albrek would have reported back about it by now."
OOC: To make it easier, I'm fine with only the PCs getting a share of the loot.
I'm working on a Phandalin post, FYI, if you leave now you'll get there about 3 in the morning.
Also, everyone throw an initiative roll in with your next post.

(Right, but how many is it total, lol, I think I came up with a total of 14 characters in the campaign page at one point? I figured just split with those that are still active, but I've lost track of who/how many that is. Sorry.)
(Ah, I misread the earlier post, I thought you meant we'd arrive in Phandalin at 10pm. In that case, the conversation will happen as they're loading the cart and Baeshra will suggest making camp by the carts and heading out in the morning.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Umbriel is fine with leaving immediately, he can get his four hours once they arrive - we'll just need to secure lodging with someplace secure enough to store the goods until morning. Initiative: 5
"Let me take a look at that jade frog, if you don't mind." Umbriel will attempt to appraise the frog - straight intelligence roll: 2
(ooc: I also thought Baeshra meant leaving immediately, so if the group would rather camp, Umbriel is cool with that, and offers to take the first watch.)

Lyngheid hugged Helgrid close, " I'll keep on with this. You need to head back and tell your side of the family about this Wave Echo place. Thats the sort of thing the Mother would want to see shared with the whole Clan. And don't go running into danger no more!"
She looked over and pointed at Kume, " He's big, he's going to attract a lot of attention. Stay behind him."
She kissed her on the forehead and hurried over to the cart to help.
Helgrid hugs Lyngheid back, and whispers "Thank you, Auntie - be safe. Moradin's light guide you and keep you from harm." Stifling a tear, she joins Kume, and waves as the cart leaves.
