Baeshra browses the ranger and druid store to see what they've got available.
Baeshra gives a toothy grin to Droop when he returns the items and gives his gift, "Thank you! Glad that it was able to keep you alive. Were you able to stock up on horse meat?"
Ireniana smiles at Droop. "Looking good, little brother and thank you for the gift."
Ireniana thinks to herself that if there isn't anything to purchase to strength, she'll seek an item to increase her constitution. Perhaps a belt or a manual.
<using the same roll>There also don't seem to be any magic items for constitution here. The dwarves of Citadel Felbarr pride themselves on being "all natural" hearty and strong.

What they have is the standard adventure gear, but more focused on the nature side: arrows, candles, ointments and salves, green and brown cloaks, etc.
Droop shakes his head. "Dwarves don't like horse meat, they told me."

After one of her performances Nyx finds a large floral box containing a new set of polished dark-red/black leather armour with burnished steel reinforcements sitting at the foot of her bed.
If she inspects the leather carefully she finds a set of dwarvish runes* stitched inside the collar.
"That is amazing, I was wondering where that went. I am very very grateful but you should not have..." she smirks when she sees the runes. "What does this say.. oh yes. Well I hope it does, those fire giants where rough and I'm afraid we have yet more giants to fight. Did you find any other items other than the shield that took your fancy? This seems a very big place, with lots of shops, no Waterdeep but then it really has very little equals." she adds in a softer voice, "I can't believe that orc ever managed to take it..."

" Twice....unless I've been amiss in reading my history."
" You really like it?", she said a little too desperately.
Recovering, she slapped the shield, " Just this, but we can do some more shopping."
" Also we should deliver that letter and inform someone in authority about the freeing of the prisoners and the death of Zaltos wife and the yakfolk slavers."

About 300 gold, unless the merchant is moved by your skills of Persuasion!
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Yes it is fantastic and I WILL give you some gold for it. I agree, we need to find the other and report to the authorities. I don't think we should dally to long, Zalto will know what we took and what it means. The longer we wait, the more chance of him intercepting us."

The merchant, an older, gray haired lady is definitely getting tired of haggling, "250 gold for that used dagger. Take it or leave it, I'm getting hungry."

Lyngheids face fell when Nyx mentioned paying her for it, and she was much quieter and reserved the rest of the day...not that that was overly unusual for her anyway....
Nyx, make an Insight check to see if you notice why Lyngheid is much quieter and more reserved!
After the party spends a couple of days in town throwing gold around, buying and selling magic items, a scroll arrives for you, with what the inn keeper says is the seal of King Morinn and Queen Tithmel.
It's a summons, "inviting" you to their throne hall for an audience with the Royal court.
If you heed the summons:
When you arrive, King Morinn and Queen Tithmel sit side by side on their thrones, and both appear middle aged for dwarves. They smile warmly and the Queen greets you:
"Hello there! Welcome to Citadel Felbarr! I hear it has been hospitable for you, and I'm glad!"
The King nods. "Indeed. Please, tell us the tale of how you came upon such a trove of treasures?"

Lyngheid dresses in her sacramental garments and polishes her armour for hours before her audience with the rulers of Felbarr.
" Your Majesties, I am Matron Lyngheid Rockbreaker we have a letter of recommendation from Ghelryn Foehammer to present to you and a report of our efforts against Duke Zalto and other giant aggressors in the region."
Baeshra doesn't quite understand why this king and queen are so important, but seeing Lyngheid polilsh her armor he buffs up his scales. On the way over he turns to Lyngheid, "Do you think they'd be interested in that crown we found?"
Umbriel, overhearing (while on the way), nods. "Definitely, such a trophy presented would probably gain us some favor, and it never hurts to have lofty personages in our corner."
Once they arrive, Umbriel is going to watch what Lyngheid says and does for his social cues.

Queen Tithmel looks over the group, taking note of the polished armor and buffed scales. "Matron Rockbreaker, it is a pleasure. Thank you for attending. I haven't seen quite as diverse a group of adventurers in quite some time."
King Morinn fills in while the Queen reads the letter from Ghelryn Foehammer, looking at Baeshra "And a well polished Lizardfolk, too. You must have traveled a long way!".
The Queen finishes the letter and smiles again. "Master Foehammer speaks highly of you and says you were instrumental in the defense of Triboar. And you have more to report about Duke Zalto and his giant cronies? That is part of why we invited you to speak with us. Please, let's adjourn to the dining hall. We'll have lunch and you discuss."
The dining hall is filled with a long, rectangular table with high backed chairs of varying sizes brought in for those taller than the dwarven standard. Lunch is had, lots of soup, cheese, bread, ale, meat (though not horse).
After lunch, King Morinn asks for details: "So, you seem to be familiar with Duke Zalto, please, tell us what you know of the Mad Duke."
Lyngheid filed in as instructed and ate carefully trying to remember the long ago lessons on statecraft she had learned in the temple.
" Well....You Majestys. We have ventured into Zaltos fortress and done some small damage to his efforts to build the Vonindod, we have slain a number of giants, Yak Folk and ogres within the fortress including the Duchess and freed a number of dwarven and other slaves from his mines."
" Due to the brave efforts of noble warriors such as Ireniana, Droop and Whistler and the sorcerous skills and might of Baeshra and Umbriel and indeed the deft footwork and incomparable skill of our dear Nyx we have succeeded in these endeavours but acknowledge that there is much more work to be done in order to bring peace and safety to these lands once more."
She motioned to the others to bring forward anything they wished to display or speak further on....
Umbriel nods, and says "Everything Matron Rockbreaker says is true, with the added imperative that Zalto is seeking to preemptively strike against the dragons with his Vonindod weapon. He'll likely be after us not only for thwarting his immediate plans but also for laying low many of his evil accomplices, including his wife, the Duchess. One good thing that came of the whole altercation was the liberation of the slaves - By chance, do you know of Dulbrek, or Ermdohr, from clan Gulbrahom? They'd be able to describe the Duke's activities with more detail."
The King and Queen listen attentively, and once finished, the Queen exclaims: "Ah, so you are the ones that rescued the dwarven slaves, we heard about that, very good! We are, indeed familiar with Dulbrek and Ermdohr."
King Morinn continues: "It is as we feared, Duke Zalto is going to reignite the ancient forge in Ironslag. I don't know how he is going to power it, but if he can find a way, and somehow reconstructs the Vonindod, well, that would not be good."
Queen Tithmel picks up when the King trails off. "Indeed, it would not. It sounds like you have put a dent in his operations, and yes, he will be after you for revenge of the Duchess."
"If you could kill Duke Zalto, we would be most indebted. In return, we can offer to build you a fortified tower in the Silver Marches. A place to call your own. It helps us out, and you would be helping yourselves out, by getting out from under the threat of the Duke's retaliation. What do you say to that?"
