Droop is chasing mice around the place and kicking up dust and debris. The rest of the party searches for about 15 minutes before finding a trap door in the floor.
Opening the trap door you can see a set of stairs descending into darkness. Those with darkvision or a light source can see the stairs go down about 15 feet before reaching a stone floor.
Droop stays on the ground floor unless Umbriel tells him to go down.
I'm sure Whistler whips out his Greatsword and watches it gleam with moonlight in the darkness.
The party winds down the stairs that are cut out of the rock walls of the tower. At the bottom, the whole floor is one big room, no interior walls are left standing, if there ever were any.
Spots around the perimeter have piles of debris, some have round metal circles made of brass. It doesn't take long to figure out that these were probably stacks of crates and casks. Their contents have long since dissolved into obscurity.
At the opposite end of the room from the stairs is a fairly large wooden chest, still intact. A pile of bones lies against it.
The pile of bones collapses even further when Whistler pokes them.
Baeshra's torch lands right on top of the pile of bones, nice shot! They don't appear to be reanimating. In fact, where Whistler's sword and Baeshra's torch touched them it looks like they turned to a fine powder. Whistler is close enough to see this and gets the idea that these are very old bones.
The torch, however, is still burning, and the flames start to lick up the side of the wooden chest.
Passion overwhelming reason, Umbriel leaps forward to kick the torch away from the chest and put out any fire still climbing the side of it. "No! There's no telling what could be inside!"
"SAND!" Whistler exclaims. He stops poking the powered residue and watches Umbriel kick away the torch. Slightly alarmed at the possibility of what could be in the chest, he raises his new Greatsword and twists it so that the broadside covers 1/3 of his body, ready to swing.

The torch goes flying, casting strange light and shadows as it spins to the side. Unfortunately, the wood of the chest is quite dry and the flames continue to grow as Umbriel kicks at them. Does anyone have anything to smother the flames?
Hearing Whistler, Umbriel fumbles around on his belt and finds a little bag of sand, as well as ten stoppered bottles of colored liquid. He dumps the sand on the fire, and if that doesn't work he'll start uncorking bottles and dousing the flames with those.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
While Umbriel pours sand and some sort of liquid on the flames, Baeshra runs up and grabs the top of the chest to open it.
Baeshra, the chest appears to be locked, and you take 1 fire damage as you try and open it.
The sand and mysterious liquid help and the flames die down enough that Umbriel can kick them out. The side and top of the chest is charred, and smoke rises to the ceiling, but otherwise the chest looks unharmed.

Umbriel peers into the dimness down below. "Most interesting. Let's see what's down here." He then proceeds down, staff stowed across his back.
Baeshra will light a torch and follow behind him.

Whistler gently jabs at the pile of bones to see if they reanimate like last time.
"No more *bone shuffling noises* for *CAW*" every time I get excited, he thinks to himself.

Baeshra will pull his burned fingers back, “Anyone know how to pick a lock?”
"That was close," Umbriel says, dusting his robes off as he stands up. "Baeshra, are you alright? Was it locked? Did anyone find a key laying about?"
Baeshra nods, “I’m fine. It was locked yes. Sorry about that. Just trying to avoid more undead.”
Rosie speaks up from the foot of the stairs: "Does anyone have a crowbar? We could try and break the lock or pry the lid or something."
"You know...my statement was meant more as a warning than encouragement to charge in...", she said drolly.
" I have a mace..."
"Smash it!" Rosie yells
OOC: Any who wants can try a strength check to open the chest, or to try and bash the lock.
