Hastings will draw his rapier and open the door with his other hand slowly, making sure to peer inside before he fully opens the door. If it looks clear he will signal to Hrothgar that they are good to go inside.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Zogar/Aerdeth/Lia: Before you, you see a small pond which is surprisingly clean compared to the rest of the fort. Straight across from the pond from where you are currently is a battered door set into the wall and another in the wall to the left which seems worn even worse and almost blends in behind the overgrown vegetation.
Hrothgar/Hastings: As Hastings opens the door, he sees a gray creature with a ragged cloak covering it. It turns and looks directly at him and it's eyes flare with a sickly red light. Hastings Con saving throw:13 Hastings: You feel a momentary tug on your very soul, but you shake it off with gritted teeth.
Everyone: From the front of the fort, you hear the sharp whistle of something flying through the air at high speed and then a loud explosion comes from the front of the fort.
"Sounds like it's beginning. Were Hrothgar and Hastings planning to climb up?"
Zogar readies his shield and pulls his mace out. He takes a closer look at both doors to see if there's anything significant about them or if they appear to be trapped.
He sighs and closes his eyes for a moment as (like he probably often does) Hastings goes on his own plan. He grits his teeth and starts moving towards Hastings to aid him if needed. Assuming the others will surely realize Hastings is at it again and will act accordingly.
(would Hrothgar notice Hastings being attacked by the ray?)

Aerdeth frowns.
"They might have split off for a moment. We're losing cohesion and need to make a call. Through that door or back to H and H?"
Distracted by the explosion, he flits upwards again, flying some 60 feet into the air to look towards the front of the fort. That was a lot of noise and he was afraid it was a bad noise. Regardless of what he sees he will afterwards descend and follow Lia and Zogar.

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Another medical problem. Indefinite hiatus. Sorry, all.
Hastings will step back and close the door, readying his blades as he draws his dagger. He will move to the side of the door, stopping when he hears the explosion. With gritted teeth he curses, looking back to Hrothgar. "I do so wish you would have spoken to me. I only noticed your signal after I had opened the door."
(Sorry I would assume that with his focus on the door he would have not seen the signal. From now on unless he is directly spoken to I am going to assume he is sticking with the rest of the group so I don't cause anymore problems. I kind of keep screwing up on making it seem like Hastings has any idea on how to be part of a group or is a competent adventurer.)
"I think we hold until we hear what the others are doing." Lia says with a shrug. "I don't think splitting the group is a good idea, so, if they don't join us, then we return and join them." She sends Emma down to see what the others are up to.
Replying to Hastings. The fault is mine my friend. I should of stopped you. Whats done is done, now what did you see in there? He asks as he positions himself between the door and Hastings to shield him from anything that might come out.
He then walks back down the stairs backwards moving Hastings down as well as they go to get in a better position at the 180 degree turning point of the stairs. From there they would have view of the door and the dock from which they came (should be able to see Emma pretty soon there then as well).
Hastings can only offer a shrug as he keeps his weapons drawn and at the ready, looking to the others to see what they saw. "Some strang figure was all I saw. It has glowing eyes."
Zogar: Nothing specific stands out about either door, they both look like they haven't been used in decades. Neither of them appear to be trapped though.
Aerdeth: Flying up into the air, you see the other two groups engaged with a figure in blackened armor holding a large sword in one hand and a shield in the other as well as several dozen other figures in dull grey pieces of armor. Even from this distance away you can see that atleast a few of them are skeletal in nature.
Hrothgar/Hastings: You see Emma come around the stairs looking for you. (OOC: Hrothgar would not have seen anything, no visible beams or rays.)

Theres Emma, lets go.
Hrothgar pulls Hastings at the start getting them both moving then lets go and starts moving fast towards Emma assuming Hastings follows.
Emma, we have been spotted. A guard of some sorts behind the door. We must make haste. We might still be able to use this as a diversion as we enter the keep from above.
He points towards the rope left by Zogar to climb up to join with the others and looks and Hastings and Emma. Go, every moment might count now. We must gain entry before their attention shifts to us.
Hrothgar will look back once more to see if he notices anything or sees anyone following them. (perception 16)
He will make sure hes the last to go up.
If/When they make it up he will inform the group they got spotted and tell them: We must go through the door now, expect a guard to be there. Stay close to each other.
Zogar has his crowbar ready to go by the time they climb up. At the signal from Hrothgar, he pries open the slightly less covered door and signals the group through.

Zogar mentally tells the joke about two kobolds and a druid who walk into a bar. When nobody laughs, he's certain that the mental connection is working normally.
Hrothgar nods as Aerdeth goes up with the others. Looking around he releases a sigh seeing Hastings go his own path as he tends to do.
Hrothgar follows Hastings up the first set of stairs waiting at the 180 turn in the stairway to make sure their rogue doesnt blow their cover.
Hrothgar: You feel a slight tingle in your head as you are standing at the 180 turn waiting on Hastings.
Sending PM
Hrothgar looks slightly to the side for a moment and stares blankly.
Sent PM
He will signal to Hastings to wait in hopes that he will notice.

(OOC: Did we end up with the Telepathic Bond?)
With everyone together Lia takes a moment to give them all a mental connection, casting telapathic bond. She only has it as a ritual though, so...
Zogar mentally tells the joke about two kobolds and a druid who walk into a bar. When nobody laughs, he's certain that the mental connection is working normally.
Hastings will move to keep up with the others, keeping his hand close to his weapons. "We need to be ready for whatever it was I saw."
Zoger only told the joke in his head, but he did try to pry the door open.
Unable to take the time to cast such a lengthy spell, Lia suggests they move onward.
