"I do have some options we could potentially use to get to the docks, if there is no land approach and we do not have a boat." Lia speaks up. "The options are all less than ideal though... I can cast a spell that will allow us all to breathe water as if it were air, I can teleport us directly there, or we could get closer and I could do several demintion doors. The teleportation and doors have the downside that the area may be protected against such spells."
While you are discussing options, Tezi goes back to her crystal ball, waving her hands over it and peering into it intently. Eventually she calls out, not taking her gaze off of it, "Friends, I may have found something. I see several boats on the bank across the lake."
Coming over to look into the device yourself, you see across the lake as if you were standing on the water some distance away from the fort. The bank on the other side of the water has three shapes that look like boats bobbing slightly on the small waves created by the blowing winds on the lake.
"I'm sorry that the image is not closer. Would this image suffice for some kind of teleportation?"
"While it is not the type of vessel I am used to or would like to be in those shall do what we need." Hastings says as he nods, moving to string up his shortbow incase he needs to fire at range once they get there.
(OOC: well neither Lia or Emma appear to have Teleport prepared right now, so may have goofed with that idea. Sorry guys.)
"How far across is this lake?" Lia asks as she looks at the mirror. "I can use dimention door to get someone to the boat if it is not too far..." She looks around at the group. "Or I can cast water breathing, and we might have to swim the distance."
As everyone stops a moment to ponder the situation, Selga steps forward and smiles, "I think I can help with this portion of the mission. I could Wind Walk you to the other side of the lake. We would need to be cautious as going from flesh to wisps of cloud is not easy and it takes time to change back. I would stay and watch over you as you changed back though. Would this be acceptable?"
(OOC: Yes, the change to and from cloud takes a full minute, so she feels you'll be safer landing near the boats than next to the fort as you'll be incapacitated for a full minute while changing back)
Hrothgar responds to Selga's idea: I agree with Lia, that sounds like a good plan. From the boats we will move towards the fort, by the time we reach the fort by water the others will have started the assault on the gate. Hopefully giving us easier passage to the fort.
When everyone is ready, Selga has you stand in a circle around her as she closes her eyes and begins a quiet chant, "Mielikki, goddess of the forests, grant me the ability to transport my newfound friends to their destination as part of the winds. Watch over them as they begin our task to rid this lands of this foul creature, this undead thing that corrupts the forests nearby. Grant us the power of wind and clouds I beg of you."
Selga repeats herself multiple times over the next minute, as you begin to feel lighter on your feet at first, then small aspects of your clothing begin to take on the wispy nature of the stuff of clouds. It begins to spread quickly from there, covering your entire body until you become living wisps of clouds floating above the floor, rising up and then moving out of the entrance to rush up into the air above the hills. Traveling ten times faster than you could normally walk, you fly high above the lake, only dropping lower as the lake ends and the far bank away from the fort is below you. You drop down on the bank nearby the three boats you saw earlier through the crystal ball and you immediately notice that one of them has water in it and is only held up by the shore.
You will yourself to become flesh again and the feeling of your body locking up begins as you slowly lose your cloud-like nature while Selga hovers above you still in cloud form. After a long minute passes, you feel you are able to move again. A low murmur drifts across the wind to you as the cloud begins to slowly rise back into the air, "The power to do this will be with you for some time, use it if needed, but remember, the change is not quick. Take care, i do not like losing friends, new or old."
Zogar moves to the swamped boat. While there isn't time to setup his forge to do major repairs, if the damage is limited, he will try to use Mending to repair the damage.
Aerdeth grimaces as he sees the state of the boat. Mending it might be a challenge. Feeling exposed on the open shore, within view of the fort, he summons Obliviation to his hands and watches for trouble.
"There is now another avenue of attack, Hrothgar. We could use this magic to fly into the fort, and find a quiet place to revert. We might find less resistance that way. I'd prefer the boats if Zogar can get them ready."
(ooc we have 2 boats right now that are working and we are only 6 so id say thats enough so im assuming they are large enough to hold 2-4 people if we split our heaviest being Hrothgar and Zogar with heavy armor)
Looking at the situation Hrothgar will think of a plan to make the boats work.
There is no time to mend them Zogar.
To Aerdeth: We will should only use it if it is safe to transform. I cannot risk the safety of anyone.
I will get in the first boat and row that one.We will tie the boats together using a rope. Zogar will row in the second boat as he is the strongest. He says to make sure Hrothgar carries the greatest burden of physical labor to keep the strenght of his team up. This way the 2nd boat will get dragged somewhat by the first as well. As the group will know Hrothgar will do whatever is in his power to give his group the greatest chance of doing well in the fight and will gladly bear this burden.
Aerdeth will go on my boat and will be the one to keep watch of the docks and have his bow ready in case of need. In the second boat with Zogar will be the others. Lia, you and Emma cast(ritual) Leomund’s Tiny Hutas we depart. (that way it should be up before we are in view of the fort). Make our 2 boats look like an old dead tree floating in the waters, that should make us look less suspicious than boats and allow us to get closer.
We will keep a steady rowing pace and when we get close enough, Aerdeth will make the call on when and how to proceed once he sees the situation at the dock. If the dock is guarded and we cant get closer, Lia will use Dimension Door to take herself and Hastings onto the docks, Emma will do the same with Zogar. We must ensure none of the undead alert anyone of our presence.
I will row the boats to the docks while Aerdeth can cover the group with his bow and spells. If the situation is needed he could alsoDimension Doorwith me. But..(knowing Aerdeth has less spells than Lia/Emma) .. we should only use our powerfull magics if it is needed. We dont know what else lurks behind those walls.
Hrothgar will then take out his rope and move to tie the boats together and get in the first one to start their mission.
(well thats enough planning for now :) hope everyone is on board (<-- see what i did there) with the plan of approach).
Aerdeth nods and helps ready the boat. He wasn't sure how well the boats would handle the weight of the party, but he had learned to trust his comrades, especially Hrothgar. He does wave a hand towards Hastings, however.
"I'll keep an eye out, but I want your eyes on this too, Dirgeblade. "

"While the rest of you get the boats in working order perhaps I should go on ahead with this magic and scout out what I can. I do not intend to be caught." Hastings suggests as he grips the handle of his sword tightly, waiting for there response as he looks over the water.
As Hrothgar is attaching the ropes he will turn to respond to Hastings. After a moments pauze.
Very well, go and scout while we move the boats out.Take a look at the docks and then return to us.With a firm voice: But make sure you stay far enough away. You can turn back to your normal form in the boat.
He then continues with the boat preparing to leave.

Zogar keeps the disappointment out of his face. He knows he could fix the boat, but that's not the reason he's here today.
There is a lich to deal with and he quickly refocuses as he gets into the 2nd boat and takes the oars.
As they begin to move out, he'll utter a quiet prayer to Mythrien Sarath for guidance with handling the boat safely.
Aerdeth nods and helps ready the boat. He wasn't sure how well the boats would handle the weight of the party, but he had learned to trust his comrades, especially Hrothgar. He does wave a hand towards Hastings, however.

Lia and Emma take different boats from each other as well. Just before they reach the docks though they each cast mirror image.
