Dead In Thay

"Something weird is about to happen in here. Can we laugh at Amelia in the next room?"

"Of course, my apologies." Taeli snorted. "I've..just never seen someone trip so hard before. Come. let us make haste."

AREA 29 - THE CONDITIONING COURT

Doors surround a central courtyard here, creating the sense of a monastic sanctuary. Each of the glowing silver pillars that support the ceiling has a set of chains and manacles fastened to it. Thayans hang from four of the pillars, their seemingly dead eyes open wide as if in a state of intense focus. Four Thayan warriors chained to the pillars are in an advanced state of entrancement. They are considered unconscious for game purposes. This entire area appears to be a dormitory of some sort. Other than the four chained Thayans, all the doors are closed and no one else is in this main room.

Mongo steps back out of the room and whispers to John Lee - "Here's your chance to make a slash again, my friend!  Light up that room!"

"Wait a moment." Taeli said. "Look at how they're chained to the pillars. It's like their in a trance."

"They are. Pretty weird, to be honest. We could either keep going and ignore them, or I could break their necks right now if you think there's a chance they might wake up and attack."

“Maybe we should cut one down? See what’s going on with ‘em?” Amelia suggests.

Taeli turned to Kit. "Commander. It's your call." she advised.

Kit frowns. "Let's cut one down, see what they can tell us, but be ready to take them down if they misbehave."

The Thayan you cut down and released slumps to the ground against the pillar. After a groggy moment, he blinks, as if returning from a waking dream. He looks up. 

"What the!" he barks, realizing what might be happening. "You! You're not supposed to be here! Who are you?"

At the sound of the commotion, a Red Wizard, two apprentices, some other kind of caster Thayan, and four Thayan warriors emerge from the dormitories. They see you all and rush to engage you. "Intruders! Slay them!"
