"There must be some sort of magical effect that's either allowing us to see this creature or not."Taeli surmised with her crazy Wisdom score. "However, it's apparent that IT can see US."she pointed out.
"Okay, so let's not make any threatening motions, at least until our party is fully up and running," Kit mutters, elbowing her distracted group members lightly in an effort to snap them out of it.
After about a minute, the effect wears off, and everyone can see the Behir. It stands there on the defensive, ready to strike at any sudden or violent movements.
Mongo: "Oh, THAT's what you guys were talking about! Why didn't you just SAY what you were seeing? It doesn't look like it's going to attack. Not, at least, until we threaten it. Let's just mosey on past it and into the next area, keeping a friendly yet cautious eye on that beastie."
John Lee looks at the pool, studying it for any arcane oddities. Whatever he discovers, he quips, "Perhaps, Mongo, it's an opportune time for that much-needed bath..."

The only noticeable things in this part of the forest is a pool in the cavern glows with pale gray light. It looks calm, delicious, and refreshing.
Looks are deceiving - Mongo doesn't trust the "delicious" looking environment (Perception: 25).
