In his righteous fury, Xarroth aims the orb too far to the left. The wine barrel next to the mimic bursts open, drenching both me mimic and Lothlién in purple wine.

Lia is up next.

Lia casts ray of frost and moves back a bit further from the mimic, but only to make sure she has range to cast spells, not out of the room by any means.

Blue light flies from Lia's hands and hits the mimic. You can tell the frost damaged the monster, but it still looks mostly in shape. Having a target so close, the mimic tries to bite Lothlién.

Attack: 23 Damage: 7 (piercing) + 7 (acid)

Sharp teeth sink into Lothlién's arm, making him bleed profusely.

Half blinded by the spilled wine, Lothlién tries to catapult a barrel fragment at the mimic, missing completely.

Fire engulfs the mimic, who recoils in pain. The monster is looking bloodied now, but doesn't show signs of fear.

Lia sends a ray of frost in.

Lia's bolt misses the mimic by a couple inches. The monster bares its fangs and tries to bite Lothlién again.

Lothlién falls unconscious at the monster's feet. The mimic jumps in Xarroth's direction, but doesn't manage to cover the full distance.

Rhok's bolt finds the monster, hitting its left side. It's looking severely damaged by now.

Xarroth growls in anger as the frost ray misses its target.

Lia tries a crossbow bolt this time around...

Lia's bolt goes wide. The mimic growls in anticipation and continues moving to the room entrance, where Xarroth and Lia are standing. It stops 10 feet away from them, roaring in anticipation.

And we are back to Rhok.

Rhok grumbles, focusing on the mimic, and lets go another bolt

As the monster roars, Rhok's bolt flies right into its mouth. The growl suddenly stops and the mimic falls to the ground, reverting into an amorphous purple blob. You can tell it's the same sticky substance that you saw in the throne room where the carpet used to be.
