"Anyone want to give that chest a try?" Lia asks, nodding to the thing. She starts to cast detect magic as a ritual.
After finishing the steps to complete her ritual, Lia notices that both the staff in Lothlién's hand and the cloak radiate an aura of illusion magic. There is an aura of enchantment magic coming from inside the locked chest, but the chest itself is not magical.
Peeking around the room, Lia finds no other magical sources. But looking out the window she sees a transmutation aura around the pumpkins in the garden.
Furthermore, there is a small pouch on the library that's radiating illusion magic too.
"I, too, am curious. But I am content on discovering after we deal with the roaring fools below." Xarroth keeps his voice low. He tries to keep an ear out to discern if it is just orcs down there.
The conversation is still going, in what you assume is the orcish language. There are a few distinct voices, but not knowing the language it's hard for you to tell.
"I'm not skilled at picking locks, but I have in my travels acquired a thieves toolkit, I could try, but isn't the 'owner' of this place a mage? I'm sure there must be some magical locks that I'd hate to spring. I like Xarroth's idea and we get it open once we've eliminated the danger..." Rhok adds in a whispered tone
Pushing on the chest, Rhok notices that is not bolted in place and weighs close to 30 pounds. It's not exactly hard to carry, but cumbersome to move.
"Well we can either leave the chest here, and come back for it later, or take it with us, if one of you can carry it." Lia says. She nods to the cloak and the staff. "Those are both magical, as is whatever is inside the chest here." Moving to the library she notices the pouch and picks it up as well. "We can work at identifying them all when we get a chance." She would have tucked the cloak into her pack. "Where from here?" She asks the others.
The pouch Lia picks from the library is filled with a powder that resembles silvery sand.
OOC: there is a door on the library's first floor. Stairs going down from the second floor hallway and a door at the end of a corridor in the second floor.
"Yes, it sounds better to take a better look on these things, and at the chest, after we deal with the orcs." Lothliénstates, while tying up the staff to the side of his backpack.
"I guess we're back to the plan before we came down here, right? Rhok goes down that door from which their banter sounded louder, and lures them to us?"
"I could try to hop out fire a shot at the orcs, run back into the room and then hope they come running up the stairs and we pick them off as they reach the top..." Rhok offers
Tying a rope to the second floor balcony for an easier way back, Rhok goes down to the garden. There are still some boars grazing outside, which ignore the human.
Rhok walks around the first floor, noticing that the windows on the first floor are covered in vines. As a ranger, he recognizes them as poison ivy. It may not be a good idea to touch them directly. Coming around, he sees a broken door on the northern wall. Peeking inside he sees what remains of the kitchen. Cupboards are smashed or rotten and a couple rats run under a door as he approaches. There are two closed doors in the kitchen, leading into the house.

Rhok will sneak into the kitchen and try to listen for any of the Orcs, and attempt to figure out the location of the stairs that would lead him back to the group
Planks creak under Rhok's feet as he walks into the kitchen, scaring a bird that had nested in one of the broken cupboards. Waiting a moment, Rhok listens at both doors. One is smaller, and its bottom has been bitten by many rats. The other looks the same as the doors on the second floor.
The orc's conversation can be heard from here as loudly as from the second floor. It seems that they are not directly outside the kitchen.
Rats scramble as Rhok opens the door, revealing a ransacked pantry. The roof is half collapsed and between mice and birds there is nothing edible left in here.
The second kitchen door leads to a dining room. Its walls are covered with crude drawings in blood that depict boars chasing stick-figure humanoids. A fireplace dominates the south side of the room, and a smashed wooden dining table lies in a heap in the eastern half of the room, surrounded by six broken chairs.
An entryway to the dining room's west leads to the entrance hall. You can see the closed front doors and a staircase leading to the second floor. There is also a closed door next to the fireplace, leading to the inner courtyard.

Rhok will look up the stairs to see if the top looks similar to the second floor souroundings he may have looked through when in the library/ bedroom the group is in
Rhok walks into the entrance hall, noticing another small room directly north. A small parlor filled with broken furniture. Looking upstairs he recognizes the same can see the same ankheg head over a fireplace, assuring him that what he sees is the L shaped hallway that the party explored previously.
From the entrance hall there is a doorway going south, leading to the inner courtyard. All that remains from the door are a few splinters near the hinges.
"I don't take Rhok could be taken without a loud fight. We would know if he's in trouble. But he may be a bit too far for us to reach him in time... should we follow his steps from some distance?" Lothliénsuggests
Rhok will head up the stairs if he sees any to rejoin the group of the coast is clear and let them know the layout he's found so far. If no stairs, he'll attempt a quiet sounds to try to get the groups attention, and motion for them to come down

As Rhok climbs upstairs, the steps break under his feet! He falls into a crude wodden spike trap underneath. The rest of the party hears the fall from upstairs.
OOC: Rhok, make a DC 15 Dex save or take 12 piercing damage.

"Let's go." Lia says, heading out in the direction she saw Rock go, not sure what else to do.
