Lia, Lothlién and Xarroth go out the balcony and climb the rope down to the first floor. Once outside they see that some boars are still roaming the garden, completely ignoring the party. Since there is no sign of Rhok nearby, they circle around the house, finding the open kitchen door.
The trio goes into the kitchen, continue towards the hallway and hear a scraping sound. Moments later, Rhok stumbles upon them. He had managed to pull himself out of the spiked trap, and is walking with a noticeable limp.
OOC: the four of you are now in the ground floor hall. The main door is directly west. On the south wall there is an open archway and a closed door, both lead to the inner courtyard. On the north side you can find a small parlor, the broken stairs to the second floor and the open door to the kitchen.
"You ok?" Lia asked as she spotted their missing companion. Once he answered she would look to the arch and closed door. "Seems like we should check that out next... Any other ideas?"
"I think we can stick to the plan, to a certain extent. One of us go in and take a look; if we find enemies, we lure them out. We can arrange some kind of trap to get them as soon as they get across the door; maybe a rope that we stretch right after our scout comes back, making them trip? It could give us some advantage." Lothlién suggests.

"I've been better..." Rhok replies while he pulls splinters from the trap from his wounds and casts cure wounds on himself and recounts what he's found so far to the group
"That only works if they haven't heard all the noise we have made up to this point." Lia points out. "What if they have a trap set up for our one-person who tries to lure them out?" She shakes her head. 'I'd rather just all go in and deal with them straight off."
"You're right, it's too late to be subtle" Lothlién admits. "I can go in first and, if there are enemies in the room, cause some area damage, but I'll have to retreat quickly after that. Does that sound alright?" he asks, waiting for the group to be on the same page, and heading towards the archway.
Lothlién is the first one to walk into the inner courtyard, a 35 foot long stone floored square. A five foot wide stone well occupies the center, thick vines are coming out of it, the longest one grows halfway up the house wall. The orc voices sound loud from the south east corner, behind two closed doors.
There is another doorway leading to the south west corner, directly below the wizard's bedroom. The door is missing, but the inside is dark and you can't see clearly unless you enter or get very close to the doorway.
OOC: I would like to have a Religion and a Nature check from each of you.

Lothlién and Xarroth get to the archway. Using the flaming bolt's light, they see what used to be some sort of laboratory. Broken furniture and glass pieces are heaped against the walls. In the middle of the room, painted on the floor with mud, is a ten-foot-wide symbol depicting three lightning bolts joined at their tips. Xarroth recognizes the symbol as belonging to Talos, the evil god of storms.
Where the lightning bolts converge, a half-orc wearing hide armor performs an eerie dance while consuming the entrails of a dead possum. Standing around the half-orc are several small twig figures. As the flaming bolt passes near him, the half-orc turns towards the adventurers. His face contorts with rage as he commands the twig figures to attack the intruders.
Combat starts! All enemies are inside the south west room, Lothlién and Xarroth are by its entrace. Lia and Rhok are in the inner courtyard, some 15 feet away from the door.
Lothliénflings a level 2 Ice Knife at the half-orc, hoping that the shards will cause significant damage in area, even though fire would be better against the twigs...
To hit: 8; damage: 4 piercing + 10 ice damage in everyone 5ft from the orc who fails a 14 DEX save
He'll then do the same as Lia, moving away from the entrance.
Xarroth follows Lia immediately, keen to help out a comrade with frost and flame!
Lothlién goes next, concentrating his magical powers

Xarroth slings a small bolt of flame into the darkness of the room to try and gain some indication what the dark room holds...
