Magnum has a question for Bors. I have many onboard offensive and defensive systems. I avoided using them in this fight as I was not sure it was fair. Am I right in thinking I should stick to using my fists, or is a big show what is called for?
Fist are good, says Bors, Fists always go down well. Anything too magical isn't so popular, though if you try to use magic and your opponent just beats the crap out of you, well, people like that. He rubs his chin. I would stick to the basics, just practise a few good lines for your opponent. You won't find out who that is until tomorrow night, though. And if you really do have a big show, then... go for it.
Is there anything else you'd like to do in this club? Or in the city for the rest of the day?
(OOC: Yeah I'm good with looking for a place to stay now. One thing Silent might do is keep an eye out for any shops that might sell Healing Potions, just in case. He can't afford any but might be good to know anyway.)
You don't find any tonight, but you find a cheap, clean tavern where you can get a meal and a room. It's called the Sweetened Grapes, though it's not exactly upmarket. A room costs one silver piece, and a meal six coppers, so please mark those off - you can share if you wish, and Magnum doesn't need to eat.
You have a peaceful night's sleep and complete a long rest.
In the morning, you have a full day ahead of you before your various commitments. Silent, you can roll to try and find a shop that might sell healing potions and other useful things, mostly likely an apothecary.
(OOC: Generally when looking for a shop in a new town, I would say you either roll Perception to see what you want, or Persuasion to ask around. Depending on the roll you might find it quickly, or after a long time, or not at all, and of course if it doesn't exist even a nat 20 won't find it.)
(OOC: It could be investigation potentially, but it seems to me more like just noticing a sign here or there, rather than somehow deducing where the herbalist shops might be. If you want to describe what you do, we can look at which fits best, but for the moment, we'll go ahead with the perception check.)
By the middle of the morning, you come upon a herbalist's shop and enter. The dwarf shopkeeper welcomes you. You look new in town and oh my! What a fascinating... creature? Are you a creature? Is it a creature? He seems fascinated by Magnum, though he doesn't approach and start prodding, you get the feeling he'd like to.
In this shop you could buy one healing potion only, as it's not something they regularly stock. You can get other items such as healer's kits though.
I suppose it depends on your definition of creature. I am a sentient, autonomous being. Mechanical in nature, but I suppose I would count as a creature as such things are measured. How much for a healer's kit?
Well, goodness. I'm delighted to meet you. A healer's kit? Do you blee... you know, it is absolutely none of my business. Yes, certainly, we have healer's kits, created to the specifications of the Zhelezo, they're some of my biggest customers, five gold for one and it has ten uses.
(OOC: Before we get too far into the day, we were going to talk about the Echos and your sword.)
If it sits well with you, I would like to ritually examine your sword. There is an investigative spell that I can perform. It takes roughly ten minutes. Also, you mentioned something about those shadow duplicates. If you have questions regarding me, I could answer those. It would be a fair exchange of information.
Magnum would like to ritually cast Detect Magic on Silent’s sword.
(OOC: I'm assuming we would be having this conversation back at the Sweetened Grapes?)
Oh... uh...Silent seems taken aback for a moment. After a long pause he finally says:
It's nothing personal Magnum. After kicking each others' arses I can say I already trust you more than most. I just got some hangups about this blade. He seems to be thinking hard. So long as your magicks don't interfere with nothin'... I guess it's fine. Doubt you're gonna find anything, though - it's important to me but it's nothing special.
As for the Echoes, I wanted to ask if you'd ever seen anything like 'em.
Your concern is understandable. Magic is tricky, even with a practiced hand. Fortunately, this ritual doesn't do anything to the sword itself. Just my eyes. It allows me to see traces of magic in objects and sometimes I can learn a little more. In fact, if you summon an echo, I can examine it, too.
I haven't seen anything like it specifically. It reminds me of something I saw a cleric do once, but I'm pretty sure that was an illusion. Yours appear to be physical manifestations. Somehow.
You can make an Arcana check, but with disadvantage..
Detect Magic reveals the faintest hint of Necromantic magic on Silent's sword. It feels like an echo, as if the sword was once magical, but is no longer.

Magnum pays for the room.
(OOC: Why not Investigation?)
(OOC: I'll roll Perception)
Perception 13

Magnum pays the five gold. Excellent, thank you. I possess some healing magic, but you never know when an emergency will crop up.
(OOC: If one healer's kit has 10 uses that's probably all we need right now. Silent can split the cost if you want.)
(OOC: 2.5 gold then?)
(OOC: Yeah sounds good)

Arcana - 14
Nope, sounds like nothing you've ever seen or heard of.
Let me know when you're ready to head out.
