The audience applauds warmly, as they have with the other performers, and Doteya looks very pleased that everything has gone well. Elspa gives you a wink as you resume your seat.
Magnum, if you are to make your appointment for the fight, you need to leave now. Silent, it's up to you whether you stay or go with him, though your host might be displeased if you go.
Magnum approaches the host and bows. I apologize, it has been a splendid evening But I must attend to some business in town. It was a pleasure meeting everyone, and I bid you good evening.
Magnum will then go to leave. He doesn’t expect Silent to accompany him. I’ll be alright. Even if those cowardly mercenaries should try to assail me on my way to the pit, I think I can handle them.
Magnum, you make your way alone through the dark night streets of the city. There are people around, you don't feel in danger, but it's a little unsettling as you do not really know this city and its secrets at all.
You enter the Iron Chain, waved through by the same man as before, but this time there are more people arriving at the same time as you, and you follow them down some stairs to a basement chamber that is substantially larger, and busier, than the room where you fought before. There are over a hundred people here, packed around the room which is wide with a low ceiling, looking more like a disused mine than anything. And in the centre, a familiar setup - a ring where fighters are warming up for competition.
Bors is standing to one side, and greets you as you enter. Tin man, he says, as this apparently is the only name people will call you here. You'll fight soon. The winnings have gone up. Ten gold if you win. Betting's been good, he grins, word's got around, like I said. And if you win, a second fight. Well. See how it goes. That's your opponent over there.
A goliath stands on the other side of the ring, and you now realise that he has been watching you intently since you entered. He has a tankard of ale in one hand and raises it to toast you as you look at him. He looks heavily armoured - breastplate and shield, with a longsword strapped to his back. Olmot Lakari. Rumoured to be Revelry. Good fighter, but direct. Not much guile to him. Just beats you down over time. Well, good luck to you.
You have a few options of what to do next. You could watch the fight that's about to start, or go and talk to Olmot, or ask Bors some questions, for example.
An elf woman against a dwarf man, a fight with fists, it takes about five minutes to get started and lasts two minutes. There doesn't appear to be much good will between the combatants this time, and when the dwarf finally is victorious, the elf stomps out of the ring without looking back, to laughter from the crowd. The next fight is two humans, both heavily scarred and both crowd favourites - there's lot of betting on this one, and in seems to be evenly split. This fight starts out with longswords, but about halfway through both participants give up their weapons and start bashing each other with their shields, and then finally their fists. It ends when one gets the other in a choke hold and keeps him there; he loses consciousness, and has to be dragged out of the ring.
And now... the Thunderer against the Tin Man. Get to the ring!
To Elspa, looking momentarily startled: Oh, ah, thanks very much. I'm from a, uh, small village up north in the Empire. Near Ashguard Garrison, that's where I was stationed back in my soldiering days.
I see, Elspa responds. The melody was familiar, or somewhat familiar I suppose. Do you know Lila Coure, by any chance. Halfling, grey hair with a red streak?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Nice to meet you.
Magnum uses a bonus action to activate his Defensive Field for 3 temp hp. Then he winds up and punches Mr. Lakari with his Thunder Gauntlets, Patent Pending.

I'm gonna rip you in two, thing.
Attack: 19 Damage: 8
His fist connects, and you hear a loud slam of thunder coming from his own gauntlets. There's an ugly kind of cheer from a small section of the crowd; there are people who came here to see you destroyed.

Magnum watches the fight.
Silent would've thanked Magnum for the assist before he left. Knock 'em dead out there, mate. I'll reach the pit as soon as things slow down here.

Olmot enters the ring to loud cheers.

That was wonderful, Silent, Ferin says as you resume your seat.
Elspa is looking at you curiously. Indeed it was. Where did you say you're from again?
(OOC: Is Olmot carrying a shield or any weapons on him as he enters?)
No, he's carrying nothing.
Magnum walks into the ring when his name is called. His coat and other equipment have been left to the side. His sleeves are rolled up.

No weapons, Bors shouts. Fists. Fight until submission. Begin!
Magnum, roll initiative.

Magnum Initiative - 18
Magnum is up first. The goliath stands before you, grinning.
Nice to meet you.
Magnum uses a bonus action to activate his Defensive Field for 3 temp hp. Then he winds up and punches Mr. Lakari with his Thunder Gauntlets, Patent Pending.
Attack: 19 Damage: 7
The thunder rings out, filling the cavern, and there's a gasp from those in the crowd who were not present the day before.
I don't talk to things, the goliath replies. His gauntleted fist swings round towards your stomach:
Attack: 17 Damage: 10
But you twist and though part of his hand connects, there's no longer any force behind it.
Magnum is up.
Magnum would smile if he had a mouth. He punches with the Thunder Gauntlets again.
Attack: 13 Damage: 5
You're not very good at hitting them, either.
I'm gonna rip you in two, thing.
Attack: 19 Damage: 8

Magnum is up.
Aww, you brought some friends to watch. Is your mother here, too?
Bonus action for Defensive Field and another punch.
Attack: 18 Damage: 11
