You learn of four places: The Sleeping Mongrel is low-end, cheap and dirty, the Withered Bird Inn is down on the waterfront in the docks and popular with sailors, a bit nicer but still cheap. More expensive, for a modest fee you can get a room in the Loyal Warrior. One woman kindly informs you that you should stay away from the Lavish Chateau, because they won’t let you in and you can’t afford it anyway.
If there are still hours of sunlight remaining Silent will suggest checking out the Lavish Chateau before finding lodgings for the night. Never had much patience for high-society folk but they know how to party. May as well scope the place out while we're here, eh?
You find it; it's not hard to find, and most people know where it is. Several repeat the same warning, though.
It's mid-afternoon when you come upon a three-storey inn built from gorgeous blue stone, standing in a busy city street. A flight of steps leaps up to the double doors in gold-inlaid wooden frames. A pair of Zhelezo flank the main door, and eye you as you approach, but do not speak. The doors are closed, and no-one appears to be coming or going at the moment.
The Zhelezo to the right scowls, and nods for you to enter. Don't cause any trouble, he says to Silent, and make sure your construct doesn't break any furniture.
You head towards a beautiful ornate room with about ten tables, though all but one is empty. Two halfling men sit at that table, dressed in rather expensive and ill-fitting clothes, talking quietly to each other. In either corner of the room you see a bar, each tended by a bartender.
A man stands nearby; he looks like he might be a servant. He glances at Magnum, and then at Silent, but says nothing.
Silent walks up to one of the bars and sits down. Word on the street is that folks like my friend and I wouldn't be able to get in or afford anything in this here fine establishment. Well, we got the first one down... how much for a drink?
(OOC: Can Magnum assist with that? He's proficient in Persuasion. Advantage or just separate checks?)
I think it makes more sense for it to be separate checks.

I'm always curious about places I'm told to avoid.
Silent will start looking for the Lavish Chateau.

Excuse me, sirs, when does this establishment open for business?
Magnum, make a straight charisma check.

Beep. Beep. After you, sir. Beep beep.
Right... turn on, uh, Civilian Mode. No ruckuses today. Silent frowns back at the guard as he walks in.
Civilian Mode: Engaged. Pip pip. Cheerio.

Magnum hands Silent his coin purse as though he were a servant.
