Silent, the teeth sink into your arming, pushing you off balance as claws rip into your body; the creature screeches as it tastes your blood, and as you free yourself it gets ready for its next attack.
Alton shouts at Silent, "I've seen you take worse shots, Silent!" Alton pulls his rapier from its sheath and pricks the tips of two of his fingers. He points those fingers at the two flying creatures and says as he casts Bane, "Don't you know not to fight a group with a bard. It could be the bane of your existence."
Bonus Action: Gives Silent some bardic inspiration, can add 1d6 once to any one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw for the next 10 minutes. Movement: None Action: Casts Bane on the two flying creatures, DC 14 charisma save if they fail this saving throw they make an attack roll or a saving throw before the spell ends, they must roll a d4 and subtract the number rolled.

A grin inexplicably creeps across Silent's face as he raises a hand in acknowledgement to Alton. Sorry. No more goofin' around...He breathes out and his Echo appears directly adjacent to the creature, opposite to him (bonus action to summon).
He will Unleash Incarnation, having the Echo mirror his own sweeping slash at the creature. Silent's Attack11 Damage: 15 Echo's Attack17 Damage: 14
Silent will use his Bardic Inspiration for the Echo's attack: 2

Bird A CHA save: 14 Bird B CHA save: 3
The bird closest to you seems to shrug it off, but the one engaged with Silent is affected.
Silent, your mirrored strikes in perfect unison slice the creature in half. Bird B is dead. There's a beleaguered cheer from beneath a wagon, as some of the civilians are looking on.
Bird A snatches and bites at Balassar:
Attack: 20 Damage: 11 Attack: 11 Damage: 8
Teeth clang against the metal armour of the dragonborn, claws scratch futilely, as Balassar takes no damage.
(OOC: How is the rest of the caravan doing from Silent's perspective? If they haven't downed any of the creatures yet Silent would want to go help them, he'd trust Balassar to handle his opponent.)
Silent will take a moment to breathe after felling his opponent and wrap his bleeding arm in a shred of his cloak, getting a Second Wind and regaining 7 hit points.
Seeing the caravan members struggling, he will have his Echo move towards Balassar to get adjacent to his opponent, and he himself will rush towards the caravan. If he can get into melee with the creature, he'll try to slash it from behind.
Seeing his spell casting not being very effective for this fight, Alton will take a fighting stance that he has seen Balassar use and try to strike at the creature with his weapon.
Action: Attack Bird A with the rapier, Attack: 19Damage: 12 Piercing

Silent is able to reach the rest of the caravan in this turn but needs to dash and isn't close enough to get an attack in. However, it will cause the Echo to disappear, as you are moving more than thirty feet away from it. (Corrected: The Echo attacks the bird creature and hits hard; it's left with not much strength.)
Alton, you make your best imitation of Balassar, but are not able to land the blow this time.
(OOC: Would Silent have the awareness to source his attack from the Echo against Balassar's opponent before it disappears, instead of using the dash action? I was under the impression that 30ft. of movement was sufficient to get to the caravan based on the previous map)
And with that, Balassar finishes off the bird. Silent, you are close enough that you are able to help the guards defeat the final bird without any further injuries or loss.
The fight is over, and in the end you have prevented any loss of goods or animals, and only one guard is moderately injured. Captain Fray sees to the wounded guard, and determines that he's fit to travel, riding on one of the carts. She comes over to speak to you all: Perytons. Bloody nuisances. You ever fought them this far from the mountains before?
Ain't never fought one o' them buggers in my life. Nasty things, says Silent while he finishes tending to his damaged arm. You reckon we've seen the last of 'em?
Maybe, maybe not, the halfling woman replies to Silent. But we need to rest, and tend some wounds. Better get some shuteyefolks, she says to you all. This went well enough, but there'll be more dangers to come, no doubt.
The captain and her guards see to the watch for the rest of the night, and the drivers are agitated after the attack and don't get much sleep. You, as seasoned adventurers, are well able to get snatches of sleep when the opportunity presents itself and you wake better rested than many.
The next day you set off once again. Same drill, can you each please give me two Perception checks, one for the day's travel, and one for the night's watch. Can the first person to read this also please give me two d20 rolls to see if you have any encounters, and if you roll an 18 or above, also give me a d12.
Balassar just drops his crossbow drawing his scimitar up in a slashing motion at the creature his other hand pulling forward his shield.
OOC:
Attacking Bird A: Attack: 12 Damage: 9
Your scimitar slashes in the air but the bird creature dodges and manages to miss your strike.
Bird B, who had been aiming for the oxen, instead turns to the large half-orc. A flash of movement, teeth biting, claws slashing:
Bite attack: Attack: 10 Damage: 11
Claw Attack: 16 Damage: 7
Silent, the teeth sink into your arming, pushing you off balance as claws rip into your body; the creature screeches as it tastes your blood, and as you free yourself it gets ready for its next attack.

Round Three:
Balassar
Alton and Silent
Bird A
Balassar is up.
Balassar just grunts looking at the creature in frustration as he swings at it again. His ferocity growing from his missed attempt.
OOC:
Attacking Bird A: Attack: 9 Damage: 6
A very angry Balassar misses again, but is keeping the bird occupied at least.
Silent and Alton are up.
(OOC: How is the rest of the caravan doing from Silent's perspective? If they haven't downed any of the creatures yet Silent would want to go help them, he'd trust Balassar to handle his opponent.)
They are struggling; no fatalities or major injuries yet, but they're not landing many blows on the creature.
Silent will take a moment to breathe after felling his opponent and wrap his bleeding arm in a shred of his cloak, getting a Second Wind and regaining 7 hit points.

(RIp Alton's spells, lol)
Seeing his spell casting not being very effective for this fight, Alton will take a fighting stance that he has seen Balassar use and try to strike at the creature with his weapon.

Attack: 8 Damage: 7
Attack: 11 Damage: 8
With a dismal lack of success.

Balassar is up.
(OOC: Would Silent have the awareness to source his attack from the Echo against Balassar's opponent before it disappears, instead of using the dash action? I was under the impression that 30ft. of movement was sufficient to get to the caravan based on the previous map)
(Yes, you could do that. The previous map wasn't clear; the battle with the rest of the caravan is taking place off and some distance away.)
Balassar is up.
Balassar just stares the creature down "This is getting annoying." he says taking another swing.
OOC:
Attacking Bird A: Attack: 24 Damage: 9
And with that, Balassar finishes off the bird. Silent, you are close enough that you are able to help the guards defeat the final bird without any further injuries or loss.
