Arael, you can roll a History check to see if you know about the Revelry, with disadvantage. Anyone else can do the same, with disadvantage if you're not from the Menagerie Coast.
"The herbalist I met was also rather wary of our association with the captain. It would seem she has quite the reputation. I too fear this artifact could end up in the wrong hands. Perhaps its something that we could purchase once more. Assuming we had the coin of course."
Keyo would think back on what he has read regarding this region and its inhabitants.
(OOC: History check to see if Keyo knows about the Revelry. Not certain what happened to the roll. I'll just fail)
Keyo, you know that the Revelry are pirates of some kind. You've heard some of your mercenary contacts discuss them; merc groups are often hired to give backup to the Zhelezo when they are attacking Revelry target.
Pockets, you know the Revelry are organised pirates, and dangerous.
Your converation continues, but the sun is getting closer to the horizon, and the ship's crew starts to prepare for the night. You all head off to your hammocks below deck and bed down.
At around midnight, you are woken by a voice you recognise: Kijori, the ship's navigator who you rescued in Palma Flora, is calling from above deck: Vessel approaching on intercept. All hands on deck. Nearby you hear those crew who were sleeping rouse immediately and run up towards the top deck.
Keyo leaps out of his hammock and quickly tosses on his robe. Fear, more so than courage, driving him to action. "I hate the sea, I better not get sick again... " He mutters under his breath, while quietly strapping on his dagger and book to his belt.
"Come on everyone, lets get topside! They may need our expertise."
Silent hastily gathers his motley array of weapons (handaxes and rapier on his belt, greatsword strapped across his back and spear held at his side) and follows Keyo to the deck.
You wake, spend a few moments fumbling while your eyes adjust to the darkness (those of you without darkvision), and then make it to the deck.
A large caravel is drawing up beside the Wavechaser; you can see its name, Moonbeam, written near the bow in white paint that seems to shimmer a little in the bright moonlight. The ship is flying flag which you recognise as belong to the Clovis Concord, the ruling power in the Menagerie Coast. Several warriors stand its deck in hostile poses, though they make no move to board as of yet. In their midst stands a tall half-elf, with pale skin - or so it appears in this light - and brightly-coloured green and blue garb. He seems to be in command.
The crew of the Wavechaser stand, some uneasy, some with open sneers on their faces as they see the approaching vessel. Three Earrings herself is nowhere to be seen. Finally, the ship comes within boarding distance - and shouting distance. The half-elf scans your ship, seeming to look for something, and then he calls out: I am Lieutenant Commander Voskiir. In the name of the laws of the Clovis Concord, surrender your vessel peacefully, or we shall take her!
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Lieutenant Commander Voskiir looks from side to side; Three Earrings remains absent. If she has not the courage to face me, who will speak for this vessel?

Silent, his eyes fix upon you. You! Boy! That's a fine weapon for a stripling. Tell your fellows to lay their arms down and surrender. I won't ask again. He motions to his crew, and several of them grab ropes, clearing planning to swing across the gap and board the Wavechaser in moments.
Boerth is standing nearby, and looks at Silent. Well, sir? he says in an amused voice. What's it to be?
Silent feels sweat trickling down his face. Nine bloody hells...he grumbles. He drops his spear and locks eyes with Voskiir.
This stripling is just a humble passenger who owes this crew a few favours, Lieutenant Commander! Let's cut all the theatrics and settle this like gentlemen. Gold is cheaper than blood and nobody needs to die here... least of all you and your men.
A passenger, Voskiir says with disgust. He turns, and as he speaks he tries to take you all in with his words. I am here to take the pirate known as Three Earrings into custody. Produce her, and I may let your little boat sail on. You have until the count of five. He holds up one gloved hand, and raises a finger. One.
Boerth and the other crew make no move to respond; they seem to be watching you, or waiting for something - it's not clear.
Pockets considers the situation. Side with the Captain, a likely pirate, and be marked as such ourselves. Side with this man, and likely get marked anyway. Pockets is going to shoot Voskiir if he makes it to five.
Silent bares his teeth, draws his greatsword and points it at Voskiir. The Captain stayed in Port Damali, Lieutenant, hobnobbing with the nobles. No idea where she is now, but I have an idea of where your head'll be if you board this ship!
Be a leader now, mate... don't piss away your men's lives on a stupid fool's errand.
Voskiir smiles and, instead of raising a second finger, opens his hand and says: Five. Ropes swing, weapons are drawn; you have a chance to pick up your weapon if you dropped it, and then the battle begins
Everyone roll initiative please.
(We will start with Pockets' readied attack)

Right, he runs the Exalted Collection Auction House. I think that’s the name. Some people tell some crazy stories about that place.

Oh no. Pockets moves to the side of the ship furthest from oncoming vessel.

Oh, ****. This is not what I needed today.
