Alton scratches a pretty good letter A on the gnoll's exposed neck; it's kind of hard to see under the fur, but the gnoll knows it's there, and that's the main thing. It bleeds a lot too; Gnoll 6 is not looking good.
The first strike cuts deep into Gnoll 2's torso, the second straight up cuts the creature in half. Gnoll 2 is down.
Round Four: Gnolls Alton, Balassar and Silent
The gnolls flee. They don't take the time to disengage, so Alton has an Opportunity Attack on Gnoll 6, and Balassar and Silent have an Opportunity Attack on either Gnoll 1 or Gnoll 3, whichever you prefer.
Silent lets out a deep breath and, instead of taking the opportunity attack, drops to one knee and starts cleaning his greatsword. He says to Balassar, Ain't been woken up like that since my soldering days.
Alton takes a peak in the wagon just to make sure the prisoners are still there before beginning to move the dead gnolls off to one side of their camp. "Talk about a wake up call. How much time do you think we have before sunrise?"

Be excellent to each other, and roll for initiative dudes!
Silent sheathes his greatsword and stretches out a crick in his back from sleeping on the floor of the carriage. Not enough time for a nap, I'd reckon. Damn gnolls. Wonder what the hell they wanted... they seem a little more, uh, rabid than usual to either of you?
He'll start helping pack up the camp and getting the stuff ready to continue the trip.
"Yeah, they were more wild then the last batch of gnolls we fought." Alton gives a hand packing up camp. He will also take a look at both wagons to see if maybe there is a way to hitch them together.

You pack up camp, and set off. You don't get the benefit of a long rest this night, but the following day you are not interrupted on the road, and two days after encountering the gnolls you arrive at Alfield, a town of perhaps three thousand people. Balassar would undoubtedly have been here before, though only travelling through; Silent and Alton less likely, but still possible. For those who have visited in the past, you would notice as you approach the signs of destruction - walls and buildings burnt, but now in the process of being rebuilt. People in the town don't seem particularly on edge, but there are quite a few Crownsguard stationed here, at the gates and patrolling the countryside outside.
Are you headed into town? And are you stopping overnight?
If we need to resupply let's head into town and get the goods. Otherwise, I say we camp out with the carriage close to the town and head off at first light. Don't want to take any chances of someone poking their noses into the carriage.
(OOC: I am not sure if we are handwaving rations and essential supplies for traveling here. Silent will give Alton enough money to buy a few bottles of cheap liquor. He will also ask Alton to try and figure out what the Crownsguard are doing, and see if the town has been having any gnoll problems.)
We are not handwaving rations and essential supplies, no. I'm trusting you to keep track of them, and spend your money when needed. If you ever get into a remote place where supplies are not available, I will start checking. :)
"Alright, so normal traveling supplies and some liquor for Silent. Do you need anything Balassar?" Alton notes down what Silent wants and sees if Balassar wants anything too before heading into Alfield. "Find someplace safe to set up camp. I'll contact one of you when I'm done or if something goes wrong."

A skilful and elegant stab to the back, and Gnoll 6 dies.
Will Balassar let the gnolls go?
Balassar swings at Gnoll 1 as he tries to leave his area.
OOC:
Attack: 16 Damage: 5
The gnoll stumbles, but keeps running.
Are Alton and Balasaar chasing?

The gnolls flee into the night.
Alton, the prisoners are still there - if they are aware of the attack (they surely must be) they have no visible reaction to it.
It's late in the night - not too long to go until morning, perhaps an hour until sunrise.
Silent sheathes his greatsword and stretches out a crick in his back from sleeping on the floor of the carriage. Not enough time for a nap, I'd reckon. Damn gnolls. Wonder what the hell they wanted... they seem a little more, uh, rabid than usual to either of you?

Balassar just shrinks in size as he puts away his weapon “Don’t think it matters, we should push on. Seems to much of a coincidence right?”

"We can also have one person get any supplies we need in Alfield while the other two stay and guard the wagons."

Silent raises a hand. Dibs on standing guard here. Don't like the look of them Crownsguard...
Balassar listens to the two "I'll stay as well, don't think you'll need the use of a sword in town."
Alton nods, "Okay. You two give me a list of things you need and I'll head into town to get them."
