Don't know. You could ask around, but... no-one's going to have anything to pay you with. People buy and sell with coppers round here. It's not like the city. But if you're in the market to do some good for some humble folks without payment, be my guest. Can't say I can suggest anyone though.
Silent turns to Emi. How 'bout you, miss? You goin' on any adventures of your own? Seems like your Gran's got a real legacy to live up to in this village, eh?
Magnum reaches into his backpack and pulls out a breathing bubble. He presents it to Emi.
In return for your assistance in guiding us here. This will allow you to breathe under water for an hour and it recharges every day at dawn. I have no need for it, of course, but I think that a burgeoning young adventurer could put it to use.
Don't tell anyone, Emi says in a low voice, but Gran's teaching me to fight. She raises her fists to demonstrate. I'm going to go out and see the world, just like she did.
That's up to you, girl, Gran says. I won't have people saying I put ideas into your head. That's a fine gift. Thank the man, Emi.
Thank you, says Emi, taking the bubble hesitantly. Then she smiles as she tries it on. Weird. Can I test it in the river, gran?
Without really waiting for permission, she races out of the door. Bye!!! she calls back to you as she runs off.
So, you staying the night or not? Where you headed to next when you go? Gran sits down and lets out a large sigh.
Good question. We've been planning on heading towards Magnum's home in... Hupperdook was the name, yeah? Don't really have any specific plans on the way, none that I can recall at least. I'm a newcomer to these parts, don't really know the lay of the land.
Hmmm. Hupperdook, is it? Well, no reason to head back to Alfield, that's the wrong way. Better go back to the main road and keep heading towards Felderwin. Quicker, and safer too. More travellers around.
Well, it's none of my business of course. But if you're aiming for Hupperdook, you'll want to head up north along the Rillway Road, not back down to Alfield. Unless you've matters there to see it.
Safe travels to you both. Emi gives you hugs, Magnum first, Silent second. Thank you for killing the wolves. You were really good at it! She smiles and stands to watch as you go.
Gran shakes your hands. An odd pair. Dangerous to go around with just two of you. You need a bigger group, I reckon. Then... well, who knows what you might achieve. Good luck to you, and you've a friend here, two friends, maybe more, if you ever need a place to lay low. She gives a wicked smile. I know how these things go.
As you depart the village, several people come up to wish you a safe journey and thank you for saving them. A few people are less enthusiastic about you, perhaps generally suspicious of strangers, or perhaps blaming you for leading the owlbear here. They keep their distance though. As you leave, you do notice one halfling, a shortsword at his hips, staring at Silent and scowling, though he doesn't approach - just watches you from the door of his house as you pass by.
Silent raises a hand in greeting to the halfling and smiles but, remembering his encounter with the armoured man in a bar a few days ago, decides against approaching and continues following Magnum, whispering That fellow don't look too friendly, eh?

Fair enough. Maybe we'll hit the road, then.

Felderwin... that rings a bell. Magnum, d'you remember if there was something we wanted to do there?
The only thing in Felderwin I know of is this letter we found with the victims of those half ogres we killed.
Well, it's none of my business of course. But if you're aiming for Hupperdook, you'll want to head up north along the Rillway Road, not back down to Alfield. Unless you've matters there to see it.
I think we can head straight to Felderwin unless you want to camp close by for the night.
(OOC: What time of day is it?)
If there are still a few hours of light left, Silent will suggest hitting the road for Felderwin.
It's mid-to-late afternoon. You could get in two or three hours of travel before sunset.
Them Magnum suggests departing.

No, he doesn’t. Hopefully it’s just about us being odd strangers or something. Otherwise, I guess I’ll be sure to set up an alarm tonight.
Silent, the halfling scowls but does nothing as you leave except watch.
You make your way down the not-much-used trail that heads back to the main road. You don't quite reach the road before sunset, and you stop to camp.
Let me know if you're keeping watch, and make the relevant Perception check.
Silent will take the first watch.
Perception 23
Magnum will take second watch. Auspex settles on Magnum’s shoulder and plumps out his feathers.
Magnum Perception - 18.
Auspex Perception - 14
(OOC: What are the potions?)
