"She's very nice! I speak to her sometimes on nights like this. She doesn't always respond, but I know she's there, listening like any good friend would. She can be a bit mischievous, though... she likes to sneak around and pull pranks sometimes! But she's a good person. Trust me. Just remember that if you feel scared and alone in the dark, the moon is up there watching over you and keeping you company," Celica says with a smile.
Balassar, the child takes a step back, and then steps forward again. "It's a fire," he says. "Sir" he adds, and then looks a little embarrassed. "You can breathe ice? I never saw that before."
Alton gives Balassar a playful elbow to his side, "That ice breath is a pretty cool ability." He turn to the lady Sally was talking with, "Is the book he went back in for special or important?"

Alton, the woman replies: "No, I don't think so. I'm not sure what it was. He's always picking up books to read when he's in the city. Adventures, mostly. Waste of money if you ask me. Why, does it matter?"
Balassar, the kid shrugs. "I don't know. Someone knocked over a lamp or something I guess. I didn't see it. Are you folks from Zadash? I've never been there. What's it like? Papa says I can go there when I'm a bit older, but not yet because it's dangerous. Is it true there are thieves and bandits everywhere?"
Alton scratches his chin, "Is there anything else The Irregulars can help you with, ma'am? Though, I do apologize that we were unable to arrive sooner, so that your house could have been saved."
(OOC: How far away is the guy who ran back into the building?)

No, thank you. I think we'll be able to handle this. Unless you have any building supplies with you. The woman smiles sadly and turns to look at the children. Come along now, lets get some beds sorted out for everyone. Jona, you'll see to that, won't you? Another adult nods, and begins to gather the children up.
One of the other adults seems to give Alton, and the rest of the group, a meaningful look and then walks some distance away, nodding for you to follow. I think Alton would certainly notice that, for everyone else it's up to you if you think you would have.
Alton nods back and grabs his friends, "I think we are done here. Let's head back." He'll then lead them over to the adult that motioned for them to follow. As they walk he'll say to them in a quiet tone, "I think something isn't adding up here. That lady seemed like she didn't want us to stick around much longer."

You all move away from the farmhouse as most of the people disappear into one of the surviving buildings. The woman you are following is tall, quite young, and seems calm and thoughtful as she watches you begin to follow; then she turns and continues on her way. She seems to be headed to a spot behind a tall, thick clump of bushes, where you would not be easily observed from near the farmhouse.
If you are all following, you have a chance to exchange brief, quiet words without being overheard before you get to her position.
The child thinks for a moment, then shakes their head. I dunno. I don't...
At this point, the adults are crowding round and interrupt you as they direct the children off to one of the remaining buildings, to make preparations for the rest of the night.
The group follows the woman, and reaches the somewhat concealed spot she has chosen to speak with you.
"Are you adventurers, then? Heroes? Can you..." she glances at the remains of the farmhouse, and leans in to Alton, voice lowered but still audible to the rest of you. "Can you deal with the ones who did this?" She looks almost as calm as she did before, but there's more now, hints of fear, hints of anger.
Alton rubs the back of his head still keeping his voice down, "Heroes might be a bit much, but we can try; if everyone else is okay with helping. What actually happened here?"

Celica, the child listens, eyes wide, and seems to take your words to heart. She doesn't ask any further questions though.
Balassar just walks up to the child “So what happened here?”

Alton shrugs, "I thought it might have been like a family memory book or something like that."

Alton, you get the odd sense that this woman is now very keen to get you and your friends to move along. Not sure why.
Balassar just smirks at the kid "I see a fire occurred and yeah pretty cool thing I can do. So how did that fire start?"
Balassar, the kid shrugs. "I don't know. Someone knocked over a lamp or something I guess. I didn't see it. Are you folks from Zadash? I've never been there. What's it like?
