The group finds a nice patch of dirt to bury the construct's head in. They then set up another ambush around the overturned cart, waiting for the next patrol of Iron Circle soldiers. In the early hours of the morning, the overcast sky darkens and a light rain begins to fall. By the time the heroes' prey arrives, the rain has become heavy, and a chill fog enshrouds the land.
The group of Iron Circle goons that arrives is led by a hooded figure almost identical to the one you previously encountered. Seven soldiers follow the figure, two of which have red patches on their otherwise grey cloaks. One of the soldiers is holding a leash on the end of which is an ugly green reptile, no taller than a dog but three times as long.

In her mage armor and holding her eldritch rapier, Quyst targets the hooded figure with a Hex, cursing his CON checks, quickly followed by an purple dart of energy
Eldrtich blast: 20; damage: 7 force + 3 necrotic
Before that dart lands, she flings another one at the same target, and then runs back to any cover she can use.
Eldrtich blast: 25; damage: 2 force + 4 necrotic
"Their numbers increased, be careful!" she says, thinking "That means I must be more careful, especially..."

Bram aims at the human soldiers first, since experience tells him he may be able to drop them quickly. The red patches make nice targets so those are his primary goals.

CHA SAVE: 12
Bram will continue to aim at the soldiers. This time, however, he is going to target the one that's lit up like a will-o-the-wisp by Davner's faerie fire. If he manages to drop that soldier, he will switch his aim to the injured Captain. (OOC: After the initial attack, I will separate the "advantage" rolls so you can discard the second roll if the advantage does not apply.)
Attack (with advantage): 26 Damage: 8
Bonus Attack: 18, 21 Damage: Damage: 8
Bram will spend a superiority die: 7 and Davner's Inspiration 1 to try to make the second attack hit IF IT DOESN'T HAVE ADVANTAGE. If it DOES have advantage, Bram will NOT spend Davner's Inspiration, but he will still use the superiority die to make a Trip Attack on the Bonus Attack. He will also spread out from the rest of the group to not cluster up, and duck behind cover if there is any available.
Also, extra crit damage on the first attack: 1 If the bonus attack was made at advantage, extra crit damage on that: 3

(Tafod DA roll: 19)
Both Tafod and Bram and frightened by the ungodly sound. Tafod nonetheless scores a solid strike on the injured captain. Bram slays the lit-up soldier then switches his attention to the injured captain. Using Davner's encouraging words and his martial prowess, Bram's bolt flies true and pierces the captain's armour. The captain still seems fairly healthy.
(Bram's bonus attack has disadvantage since he has to have LoS on the hooded figure to make it. It only hits if both the superiority die and the inspiration die are added to the attack roll, so I assume Bram would use precision attack instead of trip attack.)

Quyst keeps her focus and, this time, isn't affected by the yell. "Let' see what this thing does", she speaks to herself, leaving cover and shooting with the black hand crossbow at the hooded one again.
To hit: 9; dmg: 3 (?) + 4 necrotic (Hex)
" guess it'd be better to hit", she thinks, going back into cover
Although Quyst's shot initially seems like it is aimed too far left, the bolt makes slight adjustments to its course in mid-air and ends up scratching the hooded figure's side, drawing a line of unnaturally coloured blood.
