Captain Thorntassle thinks for a moment before responding. "I know the Sergeant is assigned to the...project that Professor Entwhistle is working on for the city and the Concord. But why would my name -- from a month ago, no less, come into this?"
Her manner changes slightly -- it is so slight in fact, that Wilkas and Dustyn are the only two who notice it. She leans back in her chair, and her hands ball into tight fists, and then, it is gone.
"I believe that it is even more urgent that you find Sergeant Glassanvil as soon as possible. It is possible, even likely, that he may try and resist you when you find him. If he does so, kill him. Given the delicate nature of this -- I will also provide you with a higher reward, say, an additional 300 gold, for a total of 500? Provided there are no more circumstances where you draw undue attention this yourselves and my...role in this?"
Dustyn -- it is hard to read the Captain as she is a skilled political operative as well as a military officer, but you do get the sense that while her original purpose may have been more personal and related to the cache of her letters you found, something about your mission has changed in her mind due to what you had found. She seems a little less concerned with his wellbeing now.
(Noted -- we can skip to to Wilkas's question unless anyone had anything else?)
Once everyone leaves the room Wilkas sits back down and leans in to speak “I know you have your reservations about what we are able to produce and secure. I know you have your secrets to keep, as do I. These ones are a little more hot headed than I. You need someone that understands what it means to look after your interests...... What occurred a month ago? The other might have not noticed when you mentioned it, but as a physician I can see the signs of stress.”
For the first time since you met her, Captain Thorntassle seems to be avoiding your gaze. Finally, she speaks haltingly, her old accent back. "Waldmar...Sergeant Glassanvil and I have been acquainted for a number of years slightly. About a month ago, Ah had cause to visit the Timuafa, where Sergeant Glassanvil is assigned. After me business there, we chatted. He asked me for a drink, Ah accepted and...things happened. Foolish old halfling that Ah was, Ah believed it was something more than what Waldmar thought. Ah tried speaking t' him a number o' times, but he did all he could to avoid me." She sighs. "An' then he went missing. Ah thought it was a way t' get at me, at first. But the, ye found that ledger." She sighs and rubs the bridge of her nose.
"Ah think he's workin' fer someone else. Someone who has interest in the work they do at the Timuafa. Mebbe Ah scared Waldmar inta thinkin' he was going get caught." She straightens up. "If he's working for the Myriad, that's one thing, but if he's planning on selling what he knows to the Revelry, then the entire Concord is at risk. He needs to be found. Soon."
She has clearly said all she is going to say to you about the subject. However, just before you are about to leave, she stops you. "Oh, and Doctor? If ye tell anyone about anything what Ah just told ye, Ah'll bury you so deep in the ocean only the Sahuagin will be able to find ye."
(Just so you are aware its probably starting to get a little later in the afternoon and into the evening --around 7 pm. Some of the shops are starting to close, but there is still a fair amount of life on the streets of Port Zoon.)
"Yes that sounds like a good idea. We had an eventful day and it sounds like there are more to come. I'd rather be well rested to tackle whatever tomorrow throws at us"
(Since the Scholar's Rest is closed, you can roll an Investigation check to see what you find in the Sphere, or Donaar/Dr. Quiem could offer their quarters, if they like)
Dr. Quiem nods, "Fine by me. If any a you need somewhere to stay you can come back with me." He looks up sharply and laughs to himself, "You'll be sleeping on books though,"

Wilkas, your home is likely in the Harbor Sphere, which is about a half hour walk from here. The other inn you all know about here in the Hammer Sphere is Taryon Darrington's House of Tarrying near the Temple of Moradin. Its a franchise place officially licensed from the famed adventurer from Vox Machina and the Darrington Brigade. It's kind of a tourist trap, and its a little costly, but you know what to expect from a House of Tarrying -- lots of memorabilia, a gift shop, and comfy, if unspectacular rooms.
“I think I may take my leave, no need to inconvenience you here while I have a perfectly good bed at home. I will see you all in the morning.” Wilkas will say his goodbyes and walk home to retire for the night. Making sure to get an early start to meet everyone back in the morning.
All of you retire to your homes, rooms, and taverns as necessary, and spend a night in a familiar bed, sleeping well and having a restful night. Morning comes, and you all make your way back to the Academy as the sun rises. At this point, Waldmar Glassanvil has been missing three days. The rest of the day is yours!

Can Dustyn make an insight check to see if he was right about her relationship with our target?

“We will do our best Ma’am.” Wilkas will agree to the terms but try and stay back once the others leave for a moment for one final question.

Dustyn will nod to the doctor and prepare himself mentally for a book bed.
