Wilkas -- you are not able to pick up any specific tracks that really match the ones you saw in Entwhistle's office, but you do notice a considerable number of heavy work boot traffic towards the treatment plant. There is considerably less traffic towards the other end of the tunnel, and most of the tracks that go in that direction seem to be animal in nature.

As your group walks towards the source of the sewers, you start to hear some scratching noises coming from further down the tunnel. You try and move silently, avoiding rousing the suspicions of...whatever it is.

The group seems to be able to move silently for the most part as you follow the stream up to a larger chamber with two platforms on either side of the central waterway. The platforms aren't high -- they are about at chest level for Dr. Quiem, but it does mean that the tunnel seems to shrink and if you want to follow the stream any further, you'd need to crawl on your bellies. It's about here where you hear a loud metallic clang as Michael's foot strikes something buried in the water. You all pause for a moment and as you do, all the scratching you heard earlier seems to suddenly cease and then, suddenly, it seems like a surging black carpet seems to charge at you.
Quiem jumps as the rats swarm the group, but quickly recovers himself, "Ehehehe come on, beasties, I've seen worse than you." Dr. Quiem is going to back away from both the group and the rats and extend a gnarled hand towards the rats. As he casts Chill Touch a skeletal hand follows its flesh and bone counterpart.
Ranged attack: 19 Damage if hit: 5

Dr. Quiem's incantation seems to catch the rat and a giant, spectral hand touches the mass of rats and a few of them peal off with a horrific scream. Meanwhile, Dustyn quickly whips out his javelin and jabs at the mass, sticking it in as far as he can. When he pulls the javelin out, there are three more rats impaled on the javelin, shish-kabob style, but it doesn't seem to quite slow the horde as much as you thought.

Rats DEX Save: 7
The rats manage to avoid Michael's casting and start to surge forward climbing up Dustyn's ankles biting at them fiercely.
Attack: 7 Damage: 6 piercing
Dustyn scream in pain as the rats are able to find the small parts of his armor where the leg protectors meet the boots and the rats are able to bite into his flesh.
Being surrounded by rats Donaar's mind defaults to his bread and butter defense spell when someone comes to close to him. Hoping that the electricity will at least kill some of the rats.
A sizzle of electricity travels through the rats and you smell the distinctive scent of burnt flesh and fur. The swarm looks like its breaking apart at this point, but Wilkas and Dustyn, you hear more scratching coming from the direction you just came.
(Wilkas you are up -- the swarm is looking pretty rough at this point.)
WIlkas curses and backs up away from the group and the swarming rats that are coming ever closer. He will use his bonus action to cast Healing Word on Dustyn and give him 5 HP back.
For his action, he will push his glasses back up on his nose, grin cheerfully at the rats and say "Rats? In a sewer? How very cliche of you." and cast Vicious Mockery on the swarm.
Damage: 2 if rats fail WIS saving throw of DC 14
Rats Save: 8
The swarm seems to pause and look very disappointed in themselves as they hear Wilkas's words. The swarm is definitely thinner now than it had been when it entered the tunnel.
The scratching from behind you (where Michael, Quiem, and Wilkas are standing) is getting louder. Top of the order -- Dr. Quiem is up.

Dr. Quiem cackles at Wilkas' mockery, steps forward while shaking out his arms, and casts [Tooltip Not Found] on the swarm, . Damage: 6 if rats fail INT save DC 14. Quiem is going to turn to the scratching noise. Perception to see if he can see what is causing it: 11
You hear the simultaneous shrieks of five or six rats screaming as they feel the spike of psychic energy surge into them. More rat bodies drop from the swarm, and you can see there are probably only three or four rats left.
As you turn and peer into the darkness back the way you came, you see what looks like another massive scampering, chittering carpet charging towards you. It looks like your battle has drawn the attention of another swarm of the rats. They are about 25 feet away from the rear of the party -- you, Wilkas, and Michael -- at the moment.

Dustyn is able to easy sweep away the last few rats, spearing them all with one last thrust that kills them all in one go.
Michael, given the sheer size and volume of the hideous mass in front of you, it is difficult to miss the rats, and you are able to strike them with a crossbow shot that seems to land directly in the middle of the mass, pinning a few rats to the ground even as the mass absorbs it and still begins to approach you all making those horrible, chittering chewing noises.
The rats approach now, and begin to swarm all over Dr. Quiem's legs and ankles, trying to gnaw through the dwarf's clothing.
Attack: 8 Damage: 2
Quiem, you feel a sudden hotness in about a dozen places on your ankles and legs as the rats swarm over you and begin biting again and again and again.

Quiem scowls at the rats on his legs, more put off by the pain than any feelings of disgust. As the rats bite into him, Quiem channels his strange prowesses and casts Shocking Grasp on the rats around him. After casting the spell he is going to back away from the swarm.
Attack: 8 Damage: 7

Seeing the rats starting to surround Quiem, Donaar knows he can't use any flashy spells or he might hurt the doctor instead and so relies on the only spell he knows he can sling with pinpoint accuracy. Concentrating his magic force on his finger tips he throws 3 bolts of pure magical energy at the rats.
