The magical missiles slam into the rats with incredible force and as the three projectiles strike the horde, you actually see nearly a dozen rat bodies fly up into the air and fall to the ground lifeless. The swarm already seems greatly reduced -- probably about half its regular strength.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Seeing the rats swarm his dwarf companion, WIlkas will scoff at the rats again and try another round of VIcious Mockery telling the rats. "Picking the target that is closest to the ground seems jolly well lazy if you ask me!"
1 damage on a failed save of DC 14
Rat Save: 6
The rats ignore Wilkas and continue to swarm over Quiem, biting at the dwarf again and again
Attack: 21 Damage: 3
Quiem shakes all the rats off of his ankles and legs before they are able to land any lasting bites into the dwarf. Quiem reaches down into the mass, energy crackling from his palms and all of you see a wave of electricity transfer from the professor into the rats and more of the creatures stop moving from the group -- the swarm is down to only a few rats now.
Between Dustyn and Michael, the two of you are able to pretty easily sweep the rest of the rats away from the swarm, even if each of you individually don't seem to do as much damage as you thought.
Once again the sewer tunnel you are following is quiet, and as you pause to collect yourself, those of you with darkvision can see, just at the edge of your vision, what appears to be a dead end, with the exception of the stream of sewage that flows through a tunnel -- it seems as though you COULD crawl through the sewage to reach the next area, if you so desired.
“Careful... it’s gross in here. I’m pretty sure I just got shit on my hand. And I’m positive I’ll need to jump in the sea to clean this garbage out of my armor.”
This was the adventuring part Donaar was absolutely not keen in experiencing, and Dustyn's commentary was not helping, like, at all. Yet, he could hardly stay there alone, so he takes a deep breath and silently follows the rest of the party.
Quiem crawls with the group through the tunnels, and after a couple moments speaks up, "I'm not usually one to complain, but I got bitten pretty bad back there." He pauses, glancing down at his legs, then cackles, "It's up to you all a' course, but I'd appreciate a bit of healing."

(Fair enough -- summer usually sees a pretty big drop off of activity around here as well)
Wilkas studies your leg for a few moments, Quiem and he mummurs a few words and instantly you begin to feel better.
Healing Word: 5HP restored.
The party crawls through the foul, fetid water and you come into a larger chamber now. Interestingly enough, even though this is certainly a disused part of the system, it appears that someone or something has been here recently. There are a number of industrial crates and barrels in this chamber and there is a crudely constructed ladder leading to a rusted iron catwalk that extends the whole way around the chamber about eight - 10 feet above your heads. However, at first glance, it does not appear that the catwalk actually leads anywhere.
The flow of the water, meanwhile, continues southward, and you can see a much larger, lit chamber to your south

Michael Investigation - 12
Quiem Investigation - 8
Dustyn there doesn't seem to be much of interest on the catwalk -- the metal is rusted and from your view of things, you're not even entirely certain that it could support your weight.
Michael, inside the crates, you find some dirty linen clothing and strips torn up of newspaper and about a dozen rats total in the crates -- it looks as though they had built homes for themselves in the crates.
Dr. Quiem -- as you climb onto the catwalk and begin walking along it towards the next chamber, something peculiar catches your eyes -- one of the heavy metal walls does not seem to be all the way closed and you notice some scrape marks on the floor in front of the strange wall.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Quiem is going to try and find a mechanism to open the wall fully (Investigation:10) and if that doesn't work he is going to try to pull the wall open.(Strength: 10)

"Nothing in the crates it seems." Michael says with a shrug, glancing over to where one of the group is working on opening some sort of secret door. "Looks like we may have something here though..." Michael says heading in that direction.
