Vani seems to breath a little bit heavier when he mentions not letting his wife die. "Ya..." she chokes out, "I wont let my family die either..."

"The thing has no real leverage over me either." Brocc says to the others.  "I too told it to take a hike, but then got transformed into a frog and sent to the inn."  He nods to the others.  "Whomever this is they have powerful magic at their disposal, teleportation magic like that is fairly advanced from the little i know about it."

Vani doesn't say anything for a while, "So where exactly are we going?"

"We're heading to Druvenlode, a place south of us."

(Can I roll History or something to see what I know of the town?)

"Why though?"

"Abyss if I know.  It's a decent sized mining town, mostly dwarven folks..  The place is where most of the Empire's metal and weaponry come from.  Seriously, it's a bastion for smiths and miners.  I don't know of any specific reason why we are headed there, though." 

Hasira smacks a branch out of the way.  Every time he steps in a some muck or gets something on his robes, he uses Prestidigitation to clean it off.

"There's a bunch of people who are interested in the place.  The Revelry pirates try to capture weaponry from there, the Diarchy is trying to get it to produce more, the Kryn Dynasty wants to capture or eliminate their production, the Coast trades with them.  There's a ton of industry there.  If I were the Dynasty, I'd want to blow the place up.  Other than that, there are many nationalities with rights to various mines in the area.  That's pretty much what I know."

Vani nods and follows behind, not really noticing how dirty (if at all) she's getting. "I'm guessing it's got to do with whatever powered it gave us..."

"I imagine we'll be told what we are suppose to be doing once we arrive."  Brocc says with a grunt of annoyance.  he continues hiking along.

"Seems to be this nutters style."

Vani doesn't say anything, pulling a tiny wooded Dodecagon from her pocket and rolling it between her palms.

Hasira, frustrated with the woods and looking for any distraction, notice's Vani's new toy, asking "What've you got there?"

Vani looks down, "It's... um... it's my holy symbol..." she says quietly.

Thorin takes a close look at it. "Not one that I recognize, which also means it's not one of the betrayers. Who is it?"

"It's... um..." Vani clams up, scared to continue.

 Thorin just looks at her. "Come on girl. Out with it. You've already said it's holy, which means it's the symbol of some god. Now, I may not be the most learned but I do understand who the gods of Exandria are. That is one I don't recognize. So. Who is it?" 

"The Luxon..." Vani says quietly.

Hasira jumps, obviously not expecting that answer.  "Really?  That's fascinating.  And very bold of you.  How long have you been following this faith?"

"I.... my mother was from the Dynasty before she came to the empire..."

"Ah, I see.  Yes.  That would do it."  Realizing his misspeak, he gasps, "I'm sorry.  My academic curiosity can get in the way of... empathy.  I have come to develop a healthy respect for the Luxon, as the principles of that faith tie especially closely to my specialty in magic."

Vani nods, "And my husband..." she stops, "he's... from the Dynasty too..."
