(The Serious Goblin takes a rolling tumble, surprising you all, and comes out of it dashing like mad towards the entrance of the tomb! He is crazy fast and manages to get very close to the door, but now there are some pillar ruins in your way that will give him some cover from your arrows!)
"Damn it!" I take cover behind the tree to which the other goblin is restrained. Despite his cover, I try and shoot an arrow to the Serious Goblin.
I then shout to the Serious Goblin in his own tongue "You better stay still or the next arrow will go straight through the brains of your little friend right here!"
(Nip shows off his sharp-shooting skills and buries an arrow right in the back of the head of the fleeing Goblin. The Goblin falls and skids face first on the dirt near the Tomb entrance. Krag, realizing all is lost, throws up his hands, drops to his knees and surrenders unconditionally.)
(whispering) "Don't kill me don't kill me don't kill me don't kill me don't kill me..."
Table-Talk: Nice shot Nip! We got the information we were after. We know there is a goblin wizard, six goblins, Bess, and maybe Sarris the boss in the next area. I suggest we knock this guy out, loot him and the other guy and move on. The question is what do we do? We can sneak to gain advantage. I have ranged and melee capabilities.
(OOC: Yes I also think that we should sneak in and asess enemy forces and the layout to see if we can get any tactical advantage, let's see what the others think).
DMs note: In the interest of getting the game going, I'll just act out what I think you all want here.
(You all decide to continue. Trefor goes towards the tomb, made of white stone with an ornately decorated door that is slightly open. He looks down but it is completely dark. It doesn't seem like anybody is down there very close.
Nip, ever the Rogue, searches the bodies. The Serious Goblin had 1 sp, a quill and a small piece of blank paper. The Lazy Goblin has no coins, but you find what appears to be a Stink Bomb of sorts. You all tie him up real good, gag him and deal a blow to the back of the head that leaves him knocked out. You then hide his body in the bushes.)
DMs note: If you're going down I need you all to tell me your marching order. First come first serve.
Trefor cautiously slips past the threshold into the tomb, using his keen half-elf ears he listens for any sounds emanating from deeper within. He draws his longbow and knocks an arrow while allowing his eyes to fully adjust so his darkvision can take full effect.
(You all peer thru the partially opened stone doors and see some stone stairs going down into darkness, but the angles and lack of light keep you all from seeing more than 10-15 feet in.)
Party Order:
1) Aphelios 2) Trefor 3) Manxim 4) Nip
(You all enter and go down the stairs, Aphelios leading the way. Since all of you have some sort of Darkvision, you don't have need any torches or lights to go down there. After a few moments you see a long, dark corridor with a slight light source at the end. Note: The dash lines are your line of sight.)
(You all see 3 Goblins in the distance, sitting around a big, brass brazier. They seem to be preoccupied with cooking their dinner, not paying much attention, but they are about 100 feet away. The room itself is lit by the fire in the brazier, but the corridor is somewhat dark, providing you all some cover, but not completely. The closer you get to the entrance, the more likely you'll be noticed. What do you all do?)
DM's note: The corridor is about 60 feet long, and the distance from the end of the corridor to the Goblins appears to be another 40 feet. If you all want to go past the opening of the corridor, you'll have to roll a very good Stealth Check. The corridor is narrow, so only 2 of you can walk thru at the same time.
Table-Talk: who has ranged or thrown weapons? I don't think we'll be able to sneak past them, and We cant count on Nip to make another amazing shot. I think maybe we should snipe them.
DM, can bows be fired from a kneeling position? So if we are 2x2 can the front to kneel and fire bows or cast a spell, while the two behind do like-wise over our heads?
DMs note: If you try to shoot an arrow or throw a dagger from inside the corridor you will do so with disadvantage and only one of you could shoot at a time. The one shot would pretty much alert the Goblins, so you can't all get a bunch of free shots.
Table-Talk: just spitballing here, but maybe one of us can snipe one of the goblins with a bow and then have Manxim step in while they are surprised and try to intimidate them to run using some thaumaturgy to make himself seem supernaturally powerful. Like dim the fire and make his eyes glow white or something. OR we could just attempt to sneak by and/or attack. What are we thinking fellow adventurers?
(Nip steps up and tries to snipe one of the Goblins, but his arrow misses badly, hitting the Brazier and making a loud 'GONG' sound, ensuring that all of the Goblins inside are on high alert!)
