OOC: I honestly couldn't think of anything else that wouldn't have possibly caught the eye of anyone else in the room. It was going to be an offer of cake, but I changed it to gold.
(Trefor and Aphelios are absolutely brutal with their lightning-quick attacks, catching the Goblins unawares and making short work of them. They barely make any noise, and it looks like your presence has not yet been detected.)
For DM:
Bugbear: 9
Shaman: 3
(Trefor and Aphelios, you're up on your regular turns now. The Shaman is busy in front of the altar and the Bugbear is standing next to him, impatiently, with his arms crossed, waiting.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC: I am going to post two options for Trefor to do at this point. I want option 1 to happen, but if I can't then we'll go with option 2. My intention is to be free of the doorway so Trefor's companions can follow unimpeded into the room.
Option 1: Trefor grabs the stinkbomb from his pal Nip and tosses it as close to the altar as possible effecting the Shaman and Bugbear. Then he moves into the room, just inside and to the left of the door way.
Straight 20: 18
Option 2: Trefor pulls free his longbow, knocks and arrow and steadies himself. He looks down he shaft of the arrow and releases it towards the Shaman. Then he moves into the room, just inside and to the left of the door way.
Attack: 24 Damage: 13
Aphelios, bolstered by the successful slaughter of the two goblins enters the room after Trefor and steps to the right, he draws his longbow and takes aim at the Bugbear.
(OOC I am not sure if I can do the following after the combat has started, DM please let me know if what I want to do is impossible/requires different rolls or whatever!)
Nip tries to remain concealed and take advantage of the confusion generated by the stink bomb and Trefor & Aphelios' aggression, to move close to the girl.
Stealth check: 15 (I don't know if this is considered rocky terrain, in which I can roll with advantage due to Rocky Gnome traits 9)
(If Nip remains hidden)
Nip takes a look at the cage that restrains Bess, looking for a way to free her and put her to safety.
(If concealment fails/not possible due to the setup/line of sight/whatever)
As he runs towards the cage, Nip lets an arrow loose to the goblin shaman so as to interrupt the ritual.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
DMs note: To not hold up the game, I'm going t say your attack d20 is going to be your lock picking roll.
(Nip, stealthy rogue that he is, manages to sneak by the Bugbear in the confusion and uses his Thieves Tools to pick the lock. It opens fairly easily thanks to Nip's skills. Nip grabs Bess and helps her out of the cage! The two run towards the entrance and Nip manages to get her out, but he's still exposed at the entrance.
The Bugbear roars in anger, grabs a Javelin that was near and throws it at Aphelios!)
Attack: 17 Damage: 11
(Though the Bugbear is disoriented from the Stink Bomb, his Javelin manages to pierce Aphelios right thru the thigh, leaving a gaping hole and hurting him very badly!)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(Manxim's Lance goes wide, hitting the wall behind the Bugbear.
The Shaman Goblin is coughing up a storm because of the Stink Bomb. His ritual is broken. He points his finger at Manxim and shoots Rays of Frost at the Paladin!)
Attack: 11 Damage: 1
(The ice blast misses and shattes on the cave wall.)
(Trefor lets loose an arrow that hits the Bugbear right in the chest! The Bugbear drops to one knee, looking like he's barely holding on. Aphelios then does the same, and his arrow hits the Bugbear square between the eyes! The Bugbear lets out a weak, raspy breath, then keels forward, dead.
The Shaman looks on in horror as he sees his protector fall to the precise attacks of the rest of the group.)
(The Shaman drops his hands. As you look at him a little closer, you see that he is very old, has gray hairs coming out of his ears and is very wrinkly.)
"No... no, that would be Sarris."
(He points to the dead Bugbear.)
"I am merely here because he needed to consecrate this tomb."
(The Shaman waves his hand behind him and the makeshift altar. You all see that there is a large statue of what appears to be a knight in full armor with a sword pointing down to the ground. The statue and base are marble and off-white.)
"I'm too old to fight you all. Grant me safe passage out of this place and let an old man go home to await the end of his time on earth near his family."
(The two Goblins look at each other.)
"Did you hear that?" "Yeah."
Wisdom roll: 7
"Should we go check?" "I guess. Boss won't be done for a while anyways."
(The Goblins walk towards the entrance and open the door fully.)
Everyone roll Initative, 2 highest get a surprise round.
DMs note: I'll be honest, you all got very lucky that the Goblins are dumb and rolled badly. I don't know how enticing that illusion was. :) LOL

(Trefor throws the Stinkbomb at the Bugbear and Shaman! It comes fairly close, though not a direct hit, and the bad odor permeates the area!)
Aphelios draws his Longbow and manages to stick an arrow in the Bugbear's shoulder! The wound is pretty deep.

Trefor knocks another arrow and fires it at the bugbear, if everyone is through the door I'd like Trefor to then use the doorway as cover for himself.
Attack: 15 Damage: 5
Aphelios too knocks an arrow and fires it at the bugbear, he closes the distance with a lunge and roll towards the alter as to use it for cover.
Attack: 22 Damage: 4

Nip leaves the little girl behind the wall, by the side of Trefor, and approaches the shaman while unseathing its rapier.
In Goblin, Nip addresses the shaman:
You better put your hands down, and do it now or we will have as little mercy with you as we have had with the rest of your pittiful crew.
Now tell us, are you the leader around here, at least now that the big guy is meeting your gods for good? How many more are there in your crew?

Trefor speaks to the Shaman: "What is the Delian Order and what part in this kidnapping did you play? Who is that figure represented over there?"
Trefor Half-elf Ranger lvl-1
(The old Goblin looks at Trefor.)
"I know not this Delian Order. As for the statue, who knows? Probably the man who was buried here in this chamber. It was like that when we got here."
(He looks over at Bess.)
"The child was to be a sacrifice, sadly. But you have saved her. It is over. I will leave this place now, and you will never see me again."
(The Shaman starts walking to the exit, slowly, but with a confidence as if he knows none of you are going to stop him.)

Trefore looks to his companion Aphelios, then both of them look to Manxim and Nip asking what they should do.
Tabletalk: Whudya say? let him go or put an arrow in his back?
