3 of the birds pull out their shortbows and send an arrow at Mal'thrae standing in the doorway:

Two arrows thud into the door frame, the third finds its mark. The arrow lodges in Mal'thrae's bicep; it hurts, but you can live with it. The kenku fan out a little, they're each about 20 feet away from the door.

Mal'thrae, then Valen.

The half-drow returns fire with his own shortbow before ducking behind cover.

Attack: 15 Damage: 7

Valen rushes in and attacks one of the bird-men.

Bonus with opposite end...

Mal'thrae fires and hits one directly in the ribs, sinking the arrow in deep. The creature squawks in pain. The one that took the arrow now has a glaive shoved into his gut, pouring blood on the floor and killing it instantly. Valen swings it around, looking for another enemy, but there's nothing to hit.

The last creature lets out a loud cry of anger and rushes Valen with a shortsword:

The attack isn't even close, Valen sidesteps and the swing goes wide.

Rayner, Urukar, Auric.

Rayner: "Hey bird boy! Who is your master?"

OOC: Rayner stands 10ft of the closest bird and he will use is reaction to attack with the glaive. After the attack, he backs (using the rest of it's movement) away trying to get some distance from the assailants.

The bird is ready for the attack, and deflects the glaive while dodging back. He did not see the other end coming, however, as he dodges directly into it. It slams into its skull with a satisfying thud, staggering it for a second.

"Move, Damn you all!"  The half-orc grumbles about being at the back of the queue to get in the door.  When he finally gets to survey the scene, he strides over to the kenku with the arrow protruding from its ribs, and attempts to cleave it in two.

Auric:

Auric moves into the room and to the side of the right-most Kenku.  He turns his head and spews fire in a line, attempting to catch at least two of the creatures in the 30 foot long conflagration.

Brass Dragon Line of Fire:  6 , DC 13 Dexterity Save for half damage.

Urukar runs towards the nearest bird, but it sees him coming and dodges the blow.

The two in the line of Auric's fire both dodge out of the way, only getting their feather's singed a little.

They look around, seeing their fallen comrade, and then at the party. The realization that they're overmatched dawns quickly, and the two that just got singed turn tail and run.

Mal'thrae, Valen.

(Any of those running in melee with anyone?  Any Attacks of opportunity?  Also, where are they running to?  Out of the building or further into it?)

Assuming they are in melee range, Mal'thrae will draw his daggers and attempt to whack one (or two) on the head, knocking them out but not killing them.

Valen also tries to knock either or both out...

If any enters Rayner’s reach of 10ft at the door he will use it’s reaction to attack, to knock out not to kill:

Reaction:Pole master attack: Attack: 11 Damage: 5

(They disengaged to run out the door) However, only one gets out as the other is stopped short by Rayner's attack. He lays unconscious on the floor.

The last one takes a fleeting look as he slips out the door himself.

Auric:

Quickly holstering his axe, Auric starts inspecting the bodies of the kenku and the slain humans for documentation, identifying tattoos, and possible treasure.
