Valen initiative: 19

The duergar hurls itself at Mal'thrae, his size doubling as he runs until he's almost as tall as the ceiling. He pulls out a warpick and takes a huge swing:

Attack: 9 Damage: 11

Mal'thrae sidesteps the attack, which gouges out a chunk of floor.

Valen, Mal'thrae, Auric, Melody, Rayner, Urukar

Auric:

Auric moves up to face off against the duergar and swings his battle axe, saying, “All you had to do was leave, we were letting you go.”

Battleaxe:  Attack: 26 Damage: 8

“Yet you plan to attack us anyway,” he finishes.

Mal'thrae grins as the duegar charges. He brandishes his rapier and stabs at the enlarged chest of the gray dwarf, exploiting the fact that he's surrounded.

Attack: 23 Damage: 9

Rayner talking in dwarvish to the duegar: " It's best for you to leave this room and live another day, old man. Before you regret your actions!"

Action-Glaive Meele Attack - Attack: 25 Damage: 6

Bonus Action- Polearm Master - Bonus Attack - Attack: 12 Damage: 8

Ready with his glaive, Valen strides in to the attack.

Glaive primary strike:  15

Damage: 13

Bonus action strike: 23

Damage: 5

The duergar easily parries Auric and Mal'thrae's attacks, laughing. The laugh is cut short, however, by the 2 glaives that find some soft spots in his armor. He starts bleeding profusely, but manages to bat away the other ends, and bares his teeth menacingly.

Melody and Urukar, your actions

Casting Vicious Mockery Wisdom Save DC 15 or takes 1 psychic damage and as disadvantage on next attack roll

Melody points at Zemk, "You are the worst example of your class I have ever come across," she laughs maliciously, eyes glowing slightly as she weaves subtle magic into her words.

Mal'thrae wisdom save (but why tho?):  4

The half drow gets visibly wracked with psychic pain. "Shit! She's one of 'em! Urukar, get 'em!"

Urukar grimaces as he gives the game away, alerting the duergar to their intentions.  Letting the others get their attacks in, the half-orc goes for the midriff of the duergar with a horizontal swing of his greataxe, once he spies an opening. 

Attack: 17
Damage: 12

Wis save: 17

He shakes off the insult easily, but Urukar steps in while he is distracted and buries his axe into the duergar's stomach. All he can do is grunt, eyes wide, then he slumps over and quits moving, a spreading pool of dark blood underneath.

Mal'thrae laughs and kicks the duegar's head. "Good thing we caught them early. Now that they're dead, let's go find their boss."

He leads the group back down the tunnel, peeking ahead just in case, and attempting to be stealthy. (9)

Auric:

Looking sadly at the dead thugs, he says, "They could have just walked away, but they had to plan to betray us."  He pulls the bodies into the original room and checks them for valuables before stacking them up against the ooze door, finishing the job of blocking off the path for the ooze to exit behind them.

"What does it matter?"  Valen says with a shrug.  "Kill them now or later..." he nods after their departing companion.  "Best not let him get too far ahead though I suppose." 

Melody looks at their collapsed bodies, "Oh, they deserved it. They were almost as stupid as the half orc is."

Mal'thrae decides to use this little shuffle step, sliding across the floor, that he feels is extremely stealthy.

He goes through the door toward the boss, still dancin'.

Auric:

Auric follows carefully, shield and axe at the ready.  If he gets to the entrance of an open area, he will use his divine sense to detect threats ahead.
