After the insult is hurled out into the cavern the group hears a “Hrank!” And the sound of a body collapsing on the floor. The small sounds of bleating follow shortly after.
The group sneaks into the cavernous opening in the cave. Behind a rock you see the fallen kobold I Gertrude’s moo moo. Timpleton is bleating and nudging at the fallen kidnapper. While looking down and seeing footprints like before of both kobold and goat alike. It seems as though they are the only ones here.
"That was rather anti-climatic... Figured there'd be more than just a single kobold." He pauses for a moment before continuing, seeming to almost taunt fate, "Almost seemed too easy."
"Oh, no, no, no. I don't like this at all" Veryes says looking around nervously "We saw lots of tracks in Gertrudes yard. I don't think that was just one kobold. I think we may have just jumped out of the frying pan here"
Turning to Rimmy "Can you do that animal talk thing again and see if Timplton knows if that's the only one? Or we could just high tail it out of here!"
It’s been closer to 1.5 hours, the spell has faded.
But the goat is easily scooped up as it continues to bleat and look back at the kobold. Animal and moo moo in hand the group begins to make haste out of the tunnels. Bypassing all the previous traps. You arrive at the mouth of the cave. Taking your first moment to breathe.
Veryes looks to her companions with excitement. "We did it! Well we still have to get home but we got Timpleton!" Veryes scratches the little goat on his snout "You OK buddy?"
"We should be able to backtrack pretty easy right?"
The group begins to walk back down the hills. All the mean time Timpleton keeps dragging his feet and looking back at the cave. Bleating into the cold wind as it whines. As you continue you’re trek.... you’re confident there aren’t any other Kobolds.
" The goat seems.....uneasy. Perhaps that animal talking trick would help settle it down. Maybe we should pause for a moment and talk to it". The whole thing seems quite strange to the cleric, but he is sincere in his suggestion.
Timpleton settles a bit when everyone stops, after finding a clearing that’s out of the way. Rimmy completes the ritual as asks his question. “What happened to Korak? Where are you taking me? Will he be okay? Who are you people?” the goat asks ratting questions visibly and audibly shaken.
"Korak? The Kobold? We're a group from Wyndbrook who were hired by your owner, as she was under the impression you were stolen. It seems like that might not be the case. Could you tell us what happened?"
“Mama sent you? Oh, dear..... has it been that long? Korak said he wanted to show me where he lived. He always played so well while mama was sleeping. He said he was lonely and enjoyed being friends. Then after playing for a bit.... we heard some noises, so we hid. Then he fell down.... then you rushed in and swept me up. You think he will be okay?” he says naively.
As Timpleton tells his tale, you begin to recount that the footprints though numerous were really just running in circles, the bats said “the scaley one” and not multiples. The pieces start coming together.

“Hey!!! Gimme back that sheep!” Trynwyn shouts at the kobold. “And! Uh... the dress. I’m pretty sure that doesn’t belong to you either.”

"Nice one, Veryes!" Rimmy hurries down the passage with the group towards the sound of the goat, quarterstaff drawn and ready.

"Seems reasonable. Let's keep our eyes out... still feels like there should be a few more kobolds."
Rimmy will scan the hills as the group makes its way down.

"Good idea. I agree, that goat doesn't seem quite right."
Rimmy sits and again begins to trace symbols on the ground as he casts Speak with Animals as a ritual.
"Timpleton? Is everything alright, you are acting a bit odd."
