Assessing him carefully, the guard then shrugs. "Its the middle of the ni..." he cuts himself off, reconsidering his surroundings and Selthar's wound. "What is the nature of the business you wish to speak of?"He motions straight ahead, looking past you. "If you need fixing, check in with the constabulary just over there."
Even having said so, he turns and motions to the other guard. Together, they open the double door. Inside, the manor enters into a great hall with tables set about a low hanging chandelier, two rounded staircases to the second floor, and numerous several statues around the 40'x30' room. All about, carpets and draping with hanging paintings decorate the room, a few small stylized fixed torches giving low illumination, the color in the room carefully balanced between white and navy blue with occasional contrast, especially at the doors at either side of the room on both levels. The 18 statues are of various humanoid races, including dragonkin and an insect-like one, all dressed or adorned like ambassadors of wildly different cultures.
The two guards lead in, welcoming you. "If your business regards the war, we will bring you to him right away. Otherwise, please make yourselves comfortable." They eye your weapons carefully, but do remark on them.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kroneker, having no interest whatsoever in talking, will instead attempt to slink away and try to find that glowing cloak Selthar told him about. Kroneker has a general idea in which part of the house it would be, and that there is supposedly a female that may or may not be near it. Kroneker doesn't care.
Although Kroneker doesn't want to start a fight just yet either, so if he's questioned he will just say "Kroneker is making himself comfortable, like guard told us."
Badrizar shrugs as Kroneker slinks off; he then turns his attention to the many statues and paintings in the room, content to allow Selthar to do the talking.
While the one discusses with Selthar, Guard B gives a small tap to the other, motioning the goblin's disappearance. Guard A merely nods in acknowledgement, whereupon Guard B makes a dissatisfied grunt.
"The information I have is about the war and of utmost importance. I will have to insist on an immediate escort to (him? not sure if there was supposed to be a name or title in that last post. Selthar would use whatever title or name they mentioned.)"
They lead you up the stairs to the door on the right. The hall there extends beyond 40', with four doors and a stairway to the third floor, which they lead you up. When they reach the top, a bellowing bark is heard around the corner, but the first guard raises a hand halfway. "Easy, shush now."
A large mastiff pads up to them, standing up to their chest, and the guard pats it on the head. "Good boy."
They bring you to the first door, one standing aside to keep a hand on the dog as they both look to Badrizar and Selthar. In that moment, once again, the haze implodes, now to 45 feet vision. Guard A speaks loudly to the door. "Sir Razgerah! Good morning! A living construct, Selthar, an acquisitions specialist for an Imperatrix (Regina Kalthania of Dornig), arrives with information regarding the war. It comes with a dragonfolk and a long-eared green gnome with a large head. Selthar and the dragonfolk are here now."
The response is quick. Also deep toned, the man's demeanor in speech is noticeably more purposeful, like that of a raised noble. "A moment, Varus." You hear movement, including metal tapping, from the other side of the heavy door.
Two minutes later, you hear the work of a key and the door opens. Sir Razgerah stands taller than the guards, though not as muscular. He wears a fine breastplate, built for purpose rather than show. The quick donning is apparent, but sufficient. He keeps one hand on a sheathed rapier with a tense, tired expression. Seeing the two guards and the dog at ease, he too relaxes and steps into the hall. "Let us speak in my study. I don't recognize your build, Selthar. Is your Imperatrix among the Heroic?"
(The Imperatrix is known to have performed some notable deeds on her own, and is quite a capable combatant in her own right, wielding blade with skill. Having lived for so long and enforcing stability unlike many other realms, she surely has thwarted many assassination attempts. She does not make a show of this, but that is what is said. She is a venerable elf now. She surely could be considered a hero, who united Dornig hundreds of years ago. Razgerah's emphasis on the term, however, might not match the same use of the word.)
The study adjacent the knight's room, 20' wide and x 30' deep, is exactly what you'd expect. Razgerah sits in the large chair behind it, sighing uncomfortably before leaning forward to listen to what you have to say.
"Long-eared green gnome," repeats Badrizar softly to himself as he waits for Razgerah to appear. "I must remember that. Absolutely perfect."
Twice now the word Heroic has been dropped by the inhabitants of this world, and Badrizar has an itch that he must scratch. "Sir, what defines the Heroic?"
Razgerah regards Badrizar a long moment as though he might not answer. "A mortal with the power of a volcano," he says unironically, "kill-able by a lucky arrow, but whose arrows or words can destroy a mountain."
Crossing his arms and leaning back, he lets the statement sink in. "The worlds who fight alongside ours have- or had- a Heroic. Most are hailed as a god, or the god, of their world," he pauses looking Badrizar in the eye, "some don't even know they exist, until they came here for the war. They're not gods, because when they die, so does their power. A god's power transfers, adapts, changes form."He smiles, still very serious. "We figured that out a long time ago. A god and a Heroic might have similar power, but you can feel it when you're looking at a divine. The stronger your affinity with it, the more clearly you can feel it. A Heroic can only convince you into thinking them to be gods. Do you understand? A lot of Heroic killed each other at the start of the war. They went into hiding to let others do more of the fighting in order to expose those that remain."
After returning from his little side adventure and having a verbal scuffle with a guard, Kroneker walks into the room. "Hello there. What did Kroneker miss? Also, Kroneker likes your dogs. Very big, good for defense."
OOC: I honestly did not think Kroneker and Badrizar would follow me into a manor where we could all be easily captured and killed. My fault again for not explaining out every detail of my intentions. But oh well we are in the lions den now. Would I be able to do a tiny bit of retcon and say my backpack is with me still? If not that is cool. Just have to ask cause Selthar would not have left his gear unprotected if it looked like his teammates were going to follow him inside.
"As I understand it the Imperatrix may be considered a Heroic. The Imperatrix has exhibited many capabilities far beyond normal. Moving on to the information we have about the war." If we are in private (no guards) with Sir Galenir Razgerah I will continue. If there are guards "We may need to speak privately. The information is very sensitive."
If he agrees and we are in private"The Holy Emporer has lost. This world and everyone in it will soon cease to exist. We have a limited and unique opportunity. There is a stasis effect across this entire world that is repelled by our presence in a limited fashion. With this capability, we will be able to provide a sort of ferry service for a few select individuals. The need is the greatest it could be and our resources are limited. The cost of our assistance will be great. We like all beings and worlds covet knowledge and power. Magical artifacts, tomes, and items will be the most expedient means of payment. Large sums of precious gems; diamonds, sapphires, topaz, emeralds, and rare metals; platinum, gold, and silver will also be acceptable. I understand this is all very disturbing. Important things to note: Any hostilities against our party will only result in mutual destruction. Any attempts to cheat or coerce our party will not be tolerated. Depending on the transaction up to two individuals may accompany our party. Other groups are scouring this world. They are acting like simple bandits and murderers. They end the stasis effect with an arrow to the throat or blade to the gut. Our part regrettably seems to be the one and only option for anyone to survive the death of this world."
If he is skeptical of the stasis effect and what it means Selthar will attempt to have him go outside so we can demonstrate it.
If a demonstration does not convince him then Selthar will call on Lillaeas. This will be the last resort. Sir Galenir Razgerah seems to know of the war and he may know of and react badly to Lillaeas.

I also initially thought Selthar entered the manor solo. But, then, in post #101 the words, "please make yourselves comfortable" seemed to indicate Selthar was not alone; so I went along with it. Sorry, team.
(I kinda thought you'd want to enter solo too, the guards simply spoke to the three of you since nobody said they would hide, if I'm not mistaken? We can retcon so only Selthar was in immediate view such that only he was welcomed in, Kroneker can still have his loot, or go with just having his gear. I'll let Devolnu decide which to go with and continue from there.)
((Hide? Are you kidding me? We were supposed to threaten negotiate with them. But since they decided not to be stupid and just act like we're normal guests, and invited us in to talk to the man in charge, Kroneker went along with it. Because it became clear to him these two are just mooks who don't have the authority to negotiate a deal with the party. That's why he's inside the house. Also the loot, but mainly that - Kroneker wants to try the easy way first. You can always rip and tear if it doesn't work.))
(Changing color of Razgerah's voice as to not match Selthar's, I blame that for not noticing earlier)
"Yes, we helped the Heroic personally, bringing their worlds under their rule."
He allows you to speak in private on request. When you mention that the Holy Emperor was defeated, his expression darkens. He questions the validity of the claim, and opts for proof. It takes 11 minutes from then to being outside, demonstrating the effect twice on small creatures. In the woods behind the manor, alone with Selthar, the knight speaks softly to him.
"He was unbeatable. Holy Emperor's existence, a secret- until Lillaeas exposed him. This world, the capital of his shadow empire. It was ideal for the task. Godless, rich in resources and magic, it's core... wondrous. And fragile."He tightens his hands into fists, rage taking his face. With clenched teeth, he looks to the sky, a tear running down his cheek. "Of course, he would doom this world if he fell. He was generous, but equally ruthless. If he couldn't unite the Heroic, then he'd see that nobody would. Holy Emperor did this. I was blind to the possibility. Only now do I see this... and we deserve it."
He takes a moment to collect himself, wiping the tear from his face. "All that matters now is that we survive. I will pay your fee. I do not have many servants in this estate. How many may I bring with me? The town numbers eight thousand."
"Before you do anything else, Kroneker needs to see some maps. Kroneker is getting a headache keeping track of our movements in Kroneker's head." Says the goblin as he's furiously rubbing his head and grunting in frustration. His patience is wearing thin - there's not much time, and the party wasted quite a bit already. They need to get a move on to get any worthwhile loot out of this.
"Unfortunately with the situation as it is we will be unable to assist the vast majority of citizens. Time is one problem. To find, convince and then move entire populations is impossible at this point. The connection between worlds that allows our travel will only last for a little over a day. The events that caused this were unexpected. If a large population came to our world there would be no place for them to go. They would, in essence, be war refugees. A large desperate possibly armed population of strangers in a strange land would not end well. Proximity is another problem. Removing the stasis effect requires one of our party to be in close proximity. Even if there were no other problems this alone prohibits transporting large numbers." Selthar gives Sir Galenir Razgerah a moment to consider his words before continuing.
"As it stands the most we are likely to accomplish is one dozen individuals. If they are not capable combatants" Selthar gestures at his wound again "then I would recommend a bodyguard. The guards would have to count towards the dozen for all the reasons stated before. Time is against us in this and as such this may seem cruel. If you have not made a choice in half a bell (30 minutes) we will be forced to move on and make our offer to others."
"What remains, then, is for me to prepare. I will make haste. Please wait in the main hall."
Sir Razgerah hurries back inside, first to the left wing. On the way, he notifies the two guards to make ready for a journey, for Varus to grab a map for 'the gnome', and whatever they could carry from the manor, and not raise a fuss with the others. They run off in different directions. Varus returns to Kroneker with three maps, one of the surrounding area (link). One of the others is a large sea map, depicting the continents of Empyrean, but the other is a planar map- centered on Empyrean, though its use appears cryptic, including an alien language. Two more blue skinned people come out in night wear, apparently confused by the guards running around. Seeing them gathering things, and your company, they catch on to the situation and join the rush. As they do so, the haze implodes once more as one rushes past one of you, extending your view to 55 feet. Already, you have become used to the experience. Razgerah returns, stopping one of the house servants to have a quick word, heading out the front door. The servant comes to you, saying that they will show you to the display room, where they keep things you might want. A moment after, Razgerah comes back inside, raising a question. "Do you have mounts? I have four horses in the stable here for my family, but that is all." Razgerah will accept your answer and then head back out.
The servant, still dressed in nightwear, will lead the group quickly to the second floor right wing, to the end of the hall. When he reaches the door, a small green and black flame silently pushes around the door's edge. He grabs the large white door's handle, seemingly unaware of the radiating heat that you can feel even a few feet away from it. You have time to stop him.
"If you travel with Kroneker, you don't need mounts. Now that Kroneker has map, Kroneker knows where to go, and Kroneker knows how to move quickly. Unless you think your fancy feet will hurt." Declares the goblin as he studies the maps. Kroneker almost instantly discards the other two maps, focusing on the surrounding area. ((I'm assuming we came from Magic Laboratory d))
"We ain't got time to travel that far. Kroneker thinks we should go here..."He points to Wizard's Watch. "...then go here...(Harlequin Gatehouse)...and maybe here...(Lake Carsen)...if we have time. Kroneker thinks that's the most we can cover without walking to death. We could also use horses to carry a lot of loot. You Fancy Feet will need it to bargain for a home on the other side."
After saying his piece, Kroneker will give the other two time to consider the options, and follow the servant to the second floor. Kroneker wouldn't try to stop him at the door - the servant clearly knows what he's doing, and if not it's none of Kroneker's concern.
