Rixton's axe banishes its target (ghost 3), now leaving only one ghost standing before Rawley.Molasnake's eldritch-powered body slams into the ghost (1) standing before Gwin.
Actions for Gwin and Rawley are next. Ghost 4 stand before Rawley; ghost 1 before Gwin. The whereabouts of the third remaining ghost is unknown.
Gwin watches glumly as her hammer strikes the ghost but does little to no harm; behind her, Rawley's blade severs the ghost's head from its body for a fraction of a second before the specter vanishes altogether.
The ghost between Gwin and Molasnake flees into the ethereal, leaving the cleric and the druid staring at one another. The four adventurers keep their heads on a swivel for the next minute or so, but the two surviving ghosts do not reappear.
Rawley prepares to wipe off his blade, but it's... clean. He just sheathes it.
He replies to Rixton, "Sure, you might be able to practice communication some more." and then pauses. "Wait, are we also graverobbing? There's a lot of coffins in there that they have no use for anymore. Might as well be thorough."
Headed in separate directions, Rawley and Rixton begin opening the doors that line the lengthy hallways. As expected, each door leads to another crypt that is nearly identical to the first. Niches for coffins are cut into the side walls, and twelve sarcophagi rest upon the floor. The sanctity of each crypt was violated long ago. The remains of the dead lie strewn about in each room. The ghosts seem to have abandoned any effort to trouble the adventurers as they work their way down the hallways.
Molasnake, seeing that combat appears to at least be paused, and also the Gwin could use some encouragement, shifts back to human form.
"Hey, don't look so down. Your hammer's not the only thing you bring to the table. You're so much more than that. Why don't you and I try to seek the aid of our more divine and natural abilities as we keep moving through this place?"
Mola casts guidance on her just for the heck of it.
Rejoining the others as they search, he will readily cast it on Rixton and Rawley as they try things, moving forward. "So lots of coffins and some hopefully bashful ghosts. Do we peek in each of these doors before heading down, or perhaps up, one of these stairwells? Also, Rixton, I'd love a summary of what you were talking about with the ghosts."
Crypt after crypt reveals the same sad tale: coffins and sarcophagi opened, remains scattered, trinkets and heirlooms of the dead found here and there. Nothing of significance or value, however, is found.
(So we have now opened all of the doors that didn't lead towards the central area, right? Have we opened any or are any open enough to peek through that lead towards the center?)
Have no idea what you're talking about, MD.

While Ghost 1 is still reeling from Molasnake's body slam, Gwin swings her war hammer at it with as much gusto as she can muster.

Rawley nods to Rixton, then starts cutting through the next one (#4):
Attack: 28 Damage: 14
Attack: 29 Damage: 17
Actually both are crits (champion fighter crits at 19), so here's another 3 damage for the first hit.
Total of 34 magical damage.
OOC: Nice, Rawley!!

(Combat has ended)
Rixton retrieves his handaxe, saying, "Still want to open the other doors?"
Molasnake shakes his head slowly, the rest of his form shaking as his rage subsides.
Rawley prepares to wipe off his blade, but it's... clean. He just sheathes it.

"That sounds tedious to me, but knock yourself out," Rixton says. "I'll go check out the other hallway."
He sneaks away down the other hallway.

Molasnake stays close by, feeling and listening with blindsight for any hidden surprises.
Gwin slumps down against the wall outside of the crypt, staring at her war hammer as if it had betrayed her.

I was assuming door on both sides of the hallways were being opened. This entire floor is composed of crypts.
"Well, let's check the stairs, then."
Rixton heads to investigate the more easterly of the other stairs heading up.
