OOC - Coz he knows the elf gotta stand on his own two feet, hehehe.
At the word of his companion, a much larger orc emerges from behind the rocks near the campfire. Though wearing heavy plate armor, he moves swiftly, clambering down from the upward slope and headed in the direction of the wizards. Just when it seems it won't be able to reach them in time, a sudden burst of speed allows it to close with Alianna and Rastaris; it swings its greataxe, targeting them both.
OOC - The big orc uses its regular movement to get to E6; it then uses its Aggressive bonus action to move to I4, beside Alianna and Rastaris. It then uses Multi-attack to make two greataxe attacks. Alianna - 2 plus 6 = 8. Rastaris 20 plus 6 = 26.
Alianna dodges the swinging blade, but it catches Rastaris dead-on.
OOC - I'm hitting my quota of crits tonight; Rastaris takes 2 plus 5 plus 4 = 11 slashing damage.
Rastaris survives the massive blow .. I think. Not it's his turn to strike.
OOC - Okay, rolling a second time because of Farnakees's Protection power, which will likely stunt your development as adventurers and prevent you from reaching your true potential. As Ayn Rand points out, this molly-cuddling has created a weak-willed, mewling generation unable to take personal responsibility for its own failings. Reject Farnakees's Protection; take the crit on the chin, for what does not kill you will only make you stronger. Oh, yeah, the roll - 4 plus 5 = 9.
OOC -Crap. A miss.
The orc was certain its killing strike would put the elf down for good, but Farnakees reaches in and protects the elf's tender parts.
OOC - Party's turn to strike. Rastaris and Mithrokk are next.
Rastaris sees the Big Orc charge him and Alianna. He sees the Great Axe swing at him and slash him. He feels the pain as the blade tears through his flesh and shatter his bones.
Before he loses consciousness from the loss of blood he whispers: "I reject this circumstance, I deny this random chance, I change Fate's design, My destiny is mine."
Rastaris spends a Luck point to make the Big Orc roll to attack him again.
deja vu
Rastaris sees the Big Orc charge him and Alianna. He sees the Big Orc swing the Great Axe......
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Mithrokk sees the big orc charge the wizards and is filled with rage. Battlefury in his veins and murder in his eyes, he charges into the fray. “Have at thee!”
Movement is from starting point J10 to I5 (J9-J8-J7-J6-I5 for 25 feet)
Attack: 8 + 5 = 17
Damage: 9 + 3 = 14
OOC to DM: If this hits, MIthrokk will activate his Divine Smite ability
Mithrokk catches the orc in the back with his swing, only to hear a clang and feel a numbing, ringing sensation travel up his arms. The orc's crude but effective plate armor easily brushed off the dwarf's blow.
OOC: Of course he's going to use his Protection ability. Why wouldn't he? :)
Farnakees interposes his shield in an attempt to deflect the shortsword aimed at the tender areas of Lathalas, the holy rogue.
OOC: Tender places? Holy rogue? 😹

Here's the new troop dispositions ...
OOC - Sigh, taking all my crits away ... rolling again ... 11 plus 6 = 17. That's still a hit, though, for 4 plus 4 = 8 damage.
OOC - Mithrokk, Alianna, Lathalas, and Farnakees are up.
Rastaris feels the Great Axe slice him but the pain seems less. He has a fleeting memory of falling unconscious but grows dimmer by the moment.
Rastaris Disengage and moves to K10.
He retreats to the side of Mithrokk. away from the Big Orc.

Alianna, seeing that the Paladin's mighty swing could not damage the orc's armor, decides to disengage. She runs behind Mithrokk to I7.
Lathalas carves up the orc beside him.
Shortsword: Attack: 8 Damage: 9
Unarmed strike: Attack: 8 Damage: 7
If either attack hits, Sneak Attack damage is 2.
OOC: Sonnuva...
OOC: Deleted previous post because dice rolls didn't show up.
OOC: How many orcs are left?
Is there another orc in A8 (or was this the orc in plate armor?)
Farnakees carves up the orc beside Lathalas.
Attack: 2
Damage: 7. OOC: Oops again. Please scratch this one, I used 1d20Damage:
Damage: 7.
OOC: Please add 5 to attack and 3 to damage.
OOC: Test Roll 10 + 5 =
OOC: Lucky, lucky orc.
OOC: That was the orc in plate armor.
Attacked by a flurry of blows from the elf and the goliath, the lucky orc evades them all.
"My brother will split that dwarf in two," he says in Orcish, "but I will drag the soul of this elf before Gruumsh!"
OOC: Attacks Lathalas - 8 plus 5 = 6.
The orc's fervor is strong, but his blow is weak; Lathalas easily dodges it.
