OOC: Is there any cover to be had around? All rock and no foliage?
OOC: what would it take for someone to get to the orcs on higher ground? Does the ground have a slope or do we have to cross one square of difficult terrain? Is it an acrobatics check to run and jump? (Actually thinking of using my spear to vault up to the orc.)
OOC - Okey-Dokey, slow down, my Internet is real slow right now ... first off, Farnakees protects Mithrokk from my crit, forcing to make another roll. Give me another 20, dice machine - 18 plus 1 = 19. Still a hit, but Mithrokk is saved from a critical hit from the longbow. Damge is 5 plus 1 = 6 damage.
Seeing the arrow on a direct heading for the paladin's face, Farnakees deflects it away with his shield; the arrow gouges the dwarf's cheek, instead of poking out an eye.
OOC - Lathalas, the terrain is what you see there; any area not on the map is considered impassable rock. The terrain is as seen on the map. Those are sheer cliffs that have to be climbed using an Athletics check; you can use an Athletics check to make a running jump to the orc next to the campfire. I won't allow Acrobatics to be used, though, since that's not how it's meant to be used.
OOC - The initiative order is orcs, Rastaris, Mithrokk, Alianna, Lathalas, and Farnakees. Now I see why I thought Rastaris rolled a 7; you were rolling for Lathalas. Sorry. My mistake.
OOC - Rastaris can move 10 feet back, but that puts him off the map, and out of line of sight of the orcs. That means he can't see them from his position, though.
Mithrokk runs to the rocks the second orc archer emerged from; he has cover from his position, and might be able to strike at the archer when he emerges from cover.

OOC: Can Alianna do that as well? Move back 10ft to be out of firing range?, If not, she'll stay put.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Lathalas will move up to I10 (or 11 depending on which square will give the target less cover) and attack the orc in J11.
OOC: Would Lath be able to sneak attack the orc archer in J11 because Mithrokk is within 5 feet of it? If so, I will use my short sword instead of my spear.
OOC - I'll rule no sneak attack because Mithrokk is behind cover. Lathalas should be in I10 if he wants cover.
Lathalas spears the orc archer, wounding him badly. From his position, he see another heavily-armored orc, carrying a two-handed axe, behind the archer.

OOC - Mithrokk, make a Perception check.
OOC - Alianna is next.
Perception: 13 - 1 = 12
Perception: 12 - 1 = 11
Rolling with Disadvantage
OOC - Stealth check with Disadvantage 11 or 13 plus 1 = 9.
Mithrokk notices a heavily-armored orc hiding behind the boulder next to the javelin thrower.
OOC - This orc is in A8.
Alianna raises her right hand. She traces a figure in the air, murmurs, “Naur pilin’” and launches a Fire Bolt toward the orc on the high ground
Attack: 1+5=15
Damage: 7
OOC: Can Alianna do that as well? Move back 10ft to be out of firing range?, If not, she'll stay put.
OOC - Yes, she can. She'll have to spend her movement next round to get back in position, though.
OOC: Yes, that's fine.
Alianna hits the orc archer with her Fire Bolt, burning away his warrior's topknot. The orc howls in fury.
OOC: So far 4 Orcs seen. Take care guys.

Two-handed spear: Attack: 19 Damage: 11
Bonus unarmed attack (kick): Attack: 12 Damage: 7
Farnakees moves to J5 and will focus on dodging incoming attacks.
OOC - I'll rule no sneak attack because Mithrokk is behind cover. Lathalas should be in I10 if he wants cover.

OOC - The heavily-armored orc is in K12.
Dodging arrow fire, Farnakees brings up the rear.
OOC - New round starts with orcs attacking again.
OOC: So 5 Orcs seen.
OOC Initiative order and locations:
The orc with the javelin tries to hit Lathalas - 1 plus 1 = 5. The javelin doesn't even come close.
