Kathleen was not entirely sure how to respond to the man offering his condolences about what happened in Di'rias. Did the man know her? Should she introduce herself as Kathleen or as the name she had when she was still a soldier in the fort. No, she is Kathleen Burnes. As far as she was concerned, Elena, the eldest daughter of her father, had died in the attack along with the rest of her unit on that day. That's when Kathleen was born and that's who she is right now. Though that still begs the question. Did the man know her or her unit?
She asks, "Yes... It was... bad. Were you there when it happened or did you hear about the casualties of the attack from friends and colleagues?"
Leelan looked at the two while they were having their conversation, shifting his gaze every time the speaker changed. "My apologies. You two seem to have a history together. Would you rather I leave you two for a moment?"
"well that is history and if we dont do a thing about our situation, we will be history as well. You said you defeated a group of goblins yesterday? We could use every fighter we can find, so can i count of you?"
"I am happy to hear that. We dont have much, but we will try to repay for your duties! Now, we are seven, most of us proven warriors. Not exactly great odds, but better that before. We have located their encampment. It is located on a clearing in the woods, about a days walk away. Are you ready to leave tomorrow morning or do you need time to prepare something?
Kathleen asks nicely, "Well... when we would be ready to leave would depend on my friends but whenever that is, I would like some extra arrows if you can spare them."
"That will be taken care of. And you," he nods to Leelan and Johan "let me know what you need and i will try to find it. And if you are looking for a place to sleep, i can recommend 'the pinecone'. not that there would another inn, but its comfortable and they make good food. Tell them that Farcan sends you. Now if thats all, we will meet at dawn by the town gate."
‘’Apart from a new inkwell and some blank parchment, I believe I am prepared. The Pinecone you say? Where can we find this fine establishment?’’ Leelan asks while stroking the hair of his muttonchops.
"Sacks, Inkwell and Paper" Farcans tone becomes a bit questioning for the later two objects. "Well i offer, you request. So who am i to judge. It will be taken care of. The Pinecone" he points at a building vis à vis of the gate, on the right side of the road leading further into town. "Is right there. Id recommend you to Rest for the day, it must have been a hard day and tomorrow wont be less exhausting."
The Pinecone is a beautifull building. Walls of dark wood with a roof of simple clay shingles. The entrance is located on a small wooden terrace, on it stand two tables with four chairs each, all of them empty. Above the entrance hangs a wooden tablet with a pinecone carved into it. The inside consits of a bar area and the main seating area as well as the kitchen located behind the bar. The interior is lit by a fireplace in the left side of the room and a lantern on the bar. each table is also outfitted with a lantern but those are not lit. Behind the bar stands a Human man, looking to be in his early 50s. He inroduces himself as Dominic, "but call me Dami"When telling him that Farcan sent you he asks you to take place, leads you all to a table, lights the lantern and leaves behind the bar. A few minutes pass before he returns with a large plate filled with Bread, some cheese, sausages and a few apples. "I apologize, i did not expect someone to come, so i did not light the fires. I will prepare your rooms. Up the stairs, the first three on the right side."he points to the stairs next to the entrance.
Johan will pick at the food a bit, but it doesn’t interest him much. It’s strictly sustenance. “How many goblins do you think it would take to manage these attacks?” he asks the others.
Kathleen was in the process of shoving bread and sausages into her mouth. She looks up at Johan. She says, "Hmp..dhont no... mahb bwe khud do rheekon" Her words are jumbled thanks to there being food in her mouth.
"I figure if they haven't attacked yet that we are still to be numerically short-handed, even with us three joining their ranks. I reckon reconnaissance his the wisest course of action." Leelan says as he prepares to bite into a juicy apple.
His mind then wanders back to the exchange between Farcan and Kathleen. "Miss Burnes, if I may...What was Farcan referring to earlier? Is it something you wish to keep for yourself?"
(( Alright. Thanks for clarifying then. ))
(( So how does he respond to the in-character question Kathleen asked him? ))
"We have to be informed on what happens in this world. but If it was nota messenger, it would have been a traveller. Much can happen in a year."

Kathleen nods, "Yes... A lot can happen in a year." At least that would mean that Farcan was not in Di'rias while she was there.

Kathleen looks to her allies to see what they say.
Without hesitation, Leelan responds. "Yes. Of course I’ll help. The end of the reign of tyranny of these goblins is nigh."
Johan thinks for several long moments before patting his belly. “Yes. Yes, of course. Glad to help.”

“There’s a good idea.” Johan nods in respect for Kathleen’s ingenuity.

Kathleen dismisses it and says, "Don't worry about it. It's nothing"
Leelan noticed her dismissiveness, but chose not to press in more. He simply nodded and smiled. "Very well then" he said, munching on an apple.
