The blast makes him stagger and the combine effort of the rest of the group brings it down quickly. The moon from the outside shines brightly in and you see the large creature crumble to dust.
The door still open you glimpse at the other building a few meters away and at two figure, probably soldiers from the looks of them, chatting. They take no notice of what has just occurred.
Bitter Ashes will motion toward the hole under the back wall. “We must move quickly, stick to th’ wall wh’n ye git thru. We’ll need t’ ‘ave look afore chargin’ off like a bunch o’ panic’d chickens.”
He will slip through the hole and, when he is outside, he’ll look around to see which direction is most likely to lead to a successful escape.

The halfling had hidden and endured a quiet moment of panic, not wanting to fight if it might lead to more death. Seeing Bitter Ashes provide a new way out he dashes for the hole behind the sorcerer, easily moving through due to his small size and nimble nature. He pokes his head out on the other side to look for more trouble, anything useful, and the best path out of here.
What does the land look like outside? Nearby woods, hills, creek or river? Brush, rocky, grassy sward? Does any route away from the barn offer better concealment? A route that allows for a quiet escape?

It must be you lucky day, or night, because a full moon casts its light in the countrt side.
You stand at the back of the barn and in front of you are unused fields and farther are rolling hills.
To the east, where you come from, the road enters a small forest and you can see a small bridge. The water seems to follow the outskirts of the forest to the North and South.
To the west a gloomy village can be seen. The few houses have no light but smoke comes out of the chimneys. To the West was also your destination.
Behind you à large building can be seen, the tavern or outpost, just next to the barn. The road cuts the fields from east to west.
Blanche and Ith are right behind you but for now have not said a word.
There are no useful items lying around except some wooden barrel filled with rainwater and a small (about 6feet) rope.
Asha takes a drink from the barrel after making sure its clean and everyone else is out of the barn.
"So, East towards the village? Or straight through the fields? I am not a fan of going toward wherever they were taking us. Thoughts? The village would be great, but we also have no coin to buy services. We may be able to steal something. But we also may get turned in. Does anyone know what's past these fields?"
Bitter Ashes will grab the rope. “We best be t’ th’ stream, I’d say go upstream a bit, then leave the stream int’ th’ woods where I be erasin’ oor track n’ scent fer a bit. That way an’ followin’ is ‘d continue upstream.”

"I think the village is a bad idea." Leshanna would put in. "Best to stay away from the logical places if we want to stay free." She nods to the woods. "If we can get in there we should be safe for a while, unless they get some trackers after us."
“Like I’s Been sayin’” Bitter Ashes whispers. “Int’ the water fer a bit, th’n when we leave int’ the woods I be erasin’ at tracks ‘n scent, but only fer a wee bit.”

“Quietly be we must,” Bitter Ashes cautions again. “Quick as possible though.” And, when everyone is ready, he’ll head east, away from the guards and what-ever is in the building, toward the stream and wood. If there is no alarm raised, when they get to the stream, he will slip into the water and head upstream for about 20 minutes, maybe 30; along the way he’ll have some one with a shiv carefully cut a brach from an inconspicuous spot on an overhanging tree (Hopefully there is on, or at least something similar). Then ask everyone to leave the stream up onto the east bank in single file. “Careful t’ step in the track o’ th’ one before ye.” Leaving last, he’ll grab the branch and wipe away the spoor, scattering bit of forest duff over them, while at the same time using the teabag to erase their scent.
The group moves out. Taking care not to make to much sound but hurrying. The water when you enter the stream sends shards of cold through your body but you can't stop.
Behind you, you hear no alarm going in the hair but you know that the missing creature will be missed soon.
Blanche has trouble following the group and Ith finds himself supporting her more and more. He needs to take her by the arm to get her into the water.
On the right side, to the east, the forest looms, not inviting at all but you will need a place to rest and soon.

Leshanna will pull the door closed and then look through anything the defeated foe had on them as he crumbled to dust.
The creature has nothing except a large cudgel.

leshanna picks up the maul and follows the others out.
"Anyone able to use this?" She asks, holding out the cudgel. "It does not fit my fighting style..."
